Benjamin caught two passes on three targets for 20 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's game against the Steelers.
Benjamin caught quarterback Brian Hoyer's only touchdown pass of the day, and although he didn't see many targets, he was able to make the most of his touches. The 24-year-old wideout remains behind Miles Austin and Andrew Hawkins on the depth chart, but if he continues to perform well when given an opportunity, there's a chance he could see his role in the offense gradually grow. In an offense that's missing start receiver Josh Gordon, Benjamin seemingly has as good of a chance as anyone to help pick up some of the targets Gordon leaves behind. He also carried the ball once for 10 yards on Sunday, adding another dimension to his offensive potential.
Wed Aug 20 201413:17Benjamin (ribs) present at practice Wednesday
Benjamin (ribs) was present at practice Wednesday, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Benjamin left Monday night's preseason game with a ribs injury, but as expected, the ailment's minor nature allowed the wideout to practice as usual Tuesday. Given his normal involvement, Benjamin should be good to go for Saturday's third preseason game and moving forward into the regular season.
Tue Aug 19 201417:56The rib injury Benjamin suffered Monday does not appear serious
The rib injury Benjamin suffered Monday does not appear serious, according to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon-Journal.
Head coach Mike Pettine said he thinks Benjamin is "OK," so it does not appear he is facing a long-term absence. However, it remains to be seen how the injury will affect Benjamin's status moving forward.

Updating a previous report, Benjamin has passed all concussion tests, but will sit for the remainder of Monday's game with a rib injury.
Benjamin will sit the rest of the exhibition game as a precaution, but he appears to have avoided a head injury that would have kept him out of action for at least a week. The Browns have a quick turnaround and will already play again Saturday, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Benjamin given the preseason game off to rest.
Mon Aug 18 201422:30Benjamin left Monday's game to be evaluated for concussion
Benjamin left Monday's game to be evaluated for a concussion.
It's currently unclear when Benjamin suffered the hit, but he'll be evaluated on the sidelines to see if a concussion was sustained. If he's diagnosed with a concussion, he'll likely sit in the Browns penultimate exhibition contest set for Saturday against the Rams. The timing is poor for Benjamin, who had gradually been seeing his role in the Cleveland offense grow.

Benjamin (knee) is hoping to return a few kicks during Monday's preseason matchup with the Redskins, the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Benjamin, who missed most of last season with a torn ACL, has impressed the Browns' coaching staff thus far in camp. While he's hoping to expand his role outside of special teams, he'll first need to prove he's healthy enough to handle kick return duties. Benjamin sat out last weekend's preseason opener against Detroit.
Wed Aug 13 201416:47Benjamin (knee) has seen role in Browns' offense grow
Benjamin (knee) has seen his role in the Browns' offense grow, ESPN Cleveland reports.
Benjamin caught a deep ball for a touchdown from quarterback Johnny Manziel during Wednesday's practice, and hauled in several more receptions during team drills. His role as a kick returner is well-established at this point, but the 24-year-old isn't content to be just a return man. He's been seeing more reps with Josh Gordon away from the practice field, and could be one of the candidates to see additional snaps after Gordon is finally handed his suspension. The report didn't name any other names, but mentioned the high frequency of balls being dropped at Wednesday's practice, effectively making Benjamin stand out even more. He's coming off a torn ACL last season and has just 23 career receptions, but has so far been praised by the new coaching staff.

Benjamin (knee) did not play Saturday's preseason opener against the Lions, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Benjamin does not have any sort of new injury, but the Browns are playing it cautiously with the receiver who tore his ACL last October. He's projected to be the primary return man in Cleveland, but will also compete for targets in the offense once he's ready to take the field. Benjamin's not a flashy fantasy option in leagues that don't reward return yardage, but he may get his chance in the offense once the Josh Gordon suspension is handed down.

Thu Sep 12 201318:36Travis Benjamin limited on Thursday
Browns WR Travis Benjamin (thigh) got in his second straight limited practice Thursday.
Benjamin missed a good deal of practice time last season, but only two games. He should be good to go Sunday. Starting for one more week in the absence of Josh Gordon, Benjamin is a threat to catch a deep ball or two, but doesn't produce near enough volume for fantasy purposes.
