Jones (ankle) did not practice Thursday, ESPN's Coley Harvey reports.
With Jones now looking pretty iffy for Sunday's night's game against the Patriots, it looks like Mohamed Sanu may now be in line to continue to start opposite A.J. Green in Week 5.
Wed Oct 1 201418:44Jones tweaked ankle during Monday's practice
Jones tweaked his ankle during Monday's practice, Paul Dehner of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Jones has already missed three games this season with a foot injury, but it appears this new ailment is not directly related. He was originally targeting a Week 5 return against the Patriots, but this recent development may put that notion in question. Jones' practice participation is surely something worth monitoring, especially for fantasy owners hoping to have the Bengals' No. 2 wideout in their lineups this week.
Wed Oct 1 201417:58Jones (foot) did not practice Wednesday
Jones (foot) did not practice Wednesday, Cincinnati.com reports.
Jones participated in the Bengals' only practice during their Week 4 bye and also suited up Monday, which pointed toward the wideout returning from the broken foot that has sidelined him to this point in the season. However, given his absence Wednesday, the reason for Jones not practicing is curious. Previously expected to play this Sunday against the Patriots, Jones' Week 5 status is now fairly unclear and an update regarding his situation should be forthcoming.
Tue Sep 30 201410:58Jones (foot) expected to return Sunday night against Patriots
Jones (foot) is expected to return Sunday night against the Patriots, Cincinnati.com reports.
Jones practiced just once before suffering a broken foot in August, but returned for two practices last week prior to the Bengals' Week 4 bye. With no setback endured, Jones figures to continue practicing this week, although his involvement will likely be limited. Nonetheless, Jones is expected to suit up Sunday night against the Patriots. While his snap count could be monitored to begin, Jones' 51 receptions for 712 yards and 10 touchdowns from last season make him an intriguing waiver wire pickup for fantasy owners in virtually all league formats.

As expected, Jones (foot) returned to practice Tuesday.
This was the Bengals' last practice before the bye week, and wasn't especially strenuous. We'll have a better feel for Jones's Week 5 status when the Bengals return from their bye.
Mon Sep 22 201414:49Jones (foot) slated to return to practice this week
Jones (foot) is slated to return to practice this week, Geoff Hobson of bengals.com reports.
With the Bengals on bye in Week 4, Jones is presumably on track to return to action Oct. 5 against the Patriots, assuming no setback once he resumes practicing with the team.
Sun Sep 21 201412:18Jones (foot) on field for warmups prior to game
Jones (foot), who remains inactive Sunday against the Titans, was on the field for warmups prior to the game, ESPN.com's Coley Harvey reports.
Jones hasn't resumed practicing yet, but he's still setting his sights on a return to game action Oct. 5 against the Patriots. Assuming his foot has healed properly by that time, he could immediately displace Mohammed Sanu as the starting receiver opposite A.J. Green.
Tue Sep 2 201418:53The Bengals are still hoping that Jones (foot) can return on Oct
The Bengals are still hoping that Jones (foot) can return on Oct. 5 against New England.
However, this is less of a case of him progressing towards a definitive return date, and more the lack of a setback in his recovery. We won't know much more until he gets close to practicing again.

The Bengals hope that Jones (foot) will be ready to play following their Week 4 bye, NFL Network's Albert Breer reports.
Jones was diagnosed with a broken foot Monday afternoon, which is expected to keep him out for several weeks. There was a previous risk of him beginning the 2014 season on the PUP list, but this report suggests that the Bengals don't plan on going that route. This is actually good news for owners who drafted Jones, as a PUP tag would mean a mandatory absence for the team's first six games. He'll now target a return October 5 against New England, but that will depend largely on the recovery of his surgically repaired foot. Mohamed Sanu should see additional reps in the absence of Jones, while tight ends Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert may also see extra balls thrown their way when top wideout A.J. Green is buried in coverage.
Mon Aug 11 201417:17Jones suffered broken foot and will now miss "few weeks"
Jones suffered a broken foot and will now miss a "few weeks", The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Jones came off the Bengals' PUP list last week after dealing with an ankle issue during the early portion of training camp. Now, the third-year wideout will probably miss the whole preseason with a broken foot. His absence creates an opportunity for Mohamed Sanu to work with the starters opposite A.J. Green until Jones is healthy.
Thu Aug 7 201418:56Jones won't play in Thursday's preseason opener against Chiefs
Jones won't play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Chiefs, the Bengals' official site reports.
Jones, who had been dealing with an ankle issue, came off the PUP list earlier this week, but evidently he didn't get enough work in to play Thursday. He's currently listed by the Bengals as a starting wideout opposite A.J. Green.
Mon Aug 4 201414:40Jones (ankle) cleared to practice
Jones (ankle) has been cleared to practice, the Bengals' official Twitter account reports.
Jones has been sidelined for training camp thus far with a minor ankle injury, although he wasn't on the Bengals' PUP list prior to being cleared Monday. Now hitting the practice field, Jones figures to fulfill a large role in new offensive coordinator Hue Jackson's system as Cincinnati's No. 2 receiver opposite All-Pro wideout A.J. Green. A tendency of second-year pass-catcher, Jones broke out during his sophomore season last year, accounting for 51 catches (80 targets), 712 yards, and 10 touchdowns. With Green expected to draw double coverage on most snaps this season, Jones could take advantage of one-on-one situations moving forward. However, given his late start to camp, it's unclear if Jones will be ready for the Bengals' preseason opener on Thursday.
Wed Jul 30 201412:19Jones (ankle) hasn't yet started practicing
Jones (ankle) hasn't yet started practicing, but has been working out on the side and has looked good there, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
After a breakout 2013 season, Jones is the clear No. 2 wide receiver with the Bengals and could get more receptions and yards this year, though it's hard to envision him being as efficient in the red zone as he was last year, scoring 10 times in just 13 red zone targets.

Marvin Jones (ankle) is expected to practice this week.
Jones tweaked his ankle at a post-OTA passing camp arranged by Andy Dalton. Although he's on the active/NFI list for now, it's not a real concern.

Mon Jul 21 201415:57Marvin Jones beginning camp on PUP list
Bengals placed WR Marvin Jones (ankle), CB Onterio McCalebb (knee) and QB AJ McCarron (shoulder) on the active/PUP list.
None of the injuries are considered serious, though McCarron's throwing shoulder was reportedly a minor issue in the run up to the draft. Jones will likely be activated within the week. It's not a concern for his draft status.

Fri May 23 201414:37Hue Jackson eyes Marvin Jones as No. 2 WR
New OC Hue Jackson mentioned Marvin Jones second behind A.J. Green when discussing the Bengals' 2014 wide receiver corps.
It's an indication Jackson sees Jones as the No. 2 to Green's No. 1 after old OC Jay Gruden head-scratchingly insisted on giving Mohamed Sanu snaps at Jones' expense. "I want A.J. and Marvin and that receiver group to play uncommon football like you've never seen," said Jackson. "Marvin Jones came on like gangbusters and he's got to go chase A.J. Why not knock A.J. off the pedestal?"

Wed Jan 8 201409:28Jones played on 77% of snaps in playoff loss
Marvin Jones played on 63-of-81 snaps (77.7 percent) in the Wild Card loss to the Chargers.
It speaks volumes that in the biggest game of the year, Jones set a season-high for percentage of snaps played. We saw it coming as over the final quarter of the year, the Bengals coaches finally recognized him as a superior playmaker to Mohamed Sanu. During the final four games, he played on 211-of-306 snaps (68.9 percent) and posted 24 catches for 324 yards with two touchdowns. With this kind of usage and Jones' explosive skill set, he'll take a major up arrow into 2014.

Sun Jan 5 201416:27Marvin Jones goes for 8-130 in defeat
Marvin Jones caught eight balls for 130 yards in the Bengals' Wild Card round loss to San Diego.
Jones turned in a second-quarter big play, Willie Maysing an Andy Dalton bomb deep down the left sideline for a 49-yard connection in Richard Marshall's coverage. Jones had a game-high 130 yards, seeing his playoff snaps rise after he was underutilized all regular season. Perhaps it's a sign of things to come. Jones is clearly a superior option to 2013 rotational partner Mohamed Sanu, both as a receiver and blocker. Turning 24 in March, Jones could flirt with WR2 value in 2014 with an expanded role. He is a valuable Dynasty league commodity.
