Sat Jun 29 201312:54Bryce Brown's dogs seized in fighting case
A pit bull and her seven puppies belonging to Eagles RB Bryce Brown were among the animals seized in a suspected dog fighting operation in Wisconsin.
The seizure took place on May 21 at Northland Pits in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. During a Friday hearing, Bekah Weitz, the humane officer for the Eau Claire County Humane Association, said one of her concerns regarding the animals was they were being trained for fighting. When the dogs were seized, she saw scarring on seven animals. We'll have more on this story as further details emerge.

Fri May 31 201314:11RB Brown working to cut down on fumbles
Eagles RB Bryce Brown is focused on correcting his fumbling issues this offseason.
Brown exploded onto the scene last year after LeSean McCoy went down with an injury, but fumbled the ball four times over his four starts. Running back's coach Deuce Staley has Brown going through practice with an eight pound weighted-ball to correct the problem. Brown has also been studying film, noting the ball "kind of got extended" during his cuts, and is focusing on cleaning up his technique. He'll have a solid role as Philly's No. 2 back.

Fri Apr 19 201314:01Bryce Brown working on his ball security
Eagles second-year RB Bryce Brown is working on his ball security this offseason by carrying around weighted footballs.
Developing stronger hands is a good first step. Brown showed explosion and power as a rookie, averaging 4.90 YPC on 115 attempts, but fumbled four times and lost three. The Eagles also need Brown to improve his vision and inside running; he bounced outside and improvised all too often. Still, Brown will be counted on for a significant role as the No. 2 back in Chip Kelly's run-heavy offense.

Sun Dec 30 201218:44Bryce Brown plays well behind McCoy
Bryce Brown rushed eight times for 18 yards and caught a six-yard pass in the Eagles' Week 17 loss to the Giants.
Brown is going to be back in Philadelphia next season, but he's not a real threat to LeSean McCoy. Over the last four games, the seventh-round rookie has managed just 76 yards on 40 carries, a scary 1.90 YPC average. He tries to push everything to the edge and doesn't protect the ball properly. The next Eagles' coach will have the final say, but for now we'd consider Brown a mere handcuff for McCoy owners in 2013.

Sun Dec 23 201218:02Bryce Brown plays sparingly with McCoy back
Bryce Brown rushed just four times for 18 yards in the Eagles' Week 16 loss to the Redskins.
The Eagles started the game with two touches for LeSean McCoy and two for Bryce Brown. But with McCoy looking really sharp, Brown quickly became an afterthought. He barely even saw the field in the second half with the Eagles in comeback mode, ceding change-of-pace snaps to Dion Lewis. The Eagles' next head coach will have the final word, but Brown doesn't appear to be a major threat to McCoy's feature back status. The rookie makes far too many mistakes in ball security, vision and pass protection.

Thu Dec 20 201211:55Bryce Brown expected to return kicks Sunday
Bryce Brown is expected to handle kickoff returns in Sunday's game against the Eagles.
It's a sign that the Eagles are completely confident in the health and stamina of starter LeSean McCoy. Anything more than 8-12 offensive touches for Brown this week would be a surprise. In the three games prior to McCoy's concussion, Brown averaged 4.0 carries.

Thu Dec 20 201209:13Bryce Brown will come off the bench Sunday
Bryce Brown will come off the bench behind LeSean McCoy in Sunday's game against the Redskins.
Coach Andy Reid has already confirmed that McCoy will not handle his "normal workload." However, Brown has managed just 40 yards on 28 carries in the last two weeks and has been responsible for four fumbles in the last month. It's hard to see him getting anything more than 8-12 touches this week, especially if McCoy is running well. Andy Reid will want to win his final home game with the Eagles.

Mon Dec 10 201209:07Bryce Brown plays on 50 snaps
Bryce Brown played on 50-of-76 offensive snaps in Sunday's comeback win over the Bucs.
Facing the league's No. 1 run defense, Brown ended up with just 12 rushing yards on six carries and two catches for six yards. He also ceded the majority of fourth-quarter snaps to backup Dion Lewis, who is the better pass protector and hurry-up back. Still, it's not a reason for owners to panic. Expect Brown to be fresh for Thursday's game against the Bengals and the Eagles to take a more run-heavy approach. He won't be punished for having nowhere to run Sunday.

Sun Dec 9 201216:28Eagles win despite six yards from Bryce Brown
Bryce Brown rushed 12 times for six yards in the Eagles' 23-21 Week 14 upset of the Bucs.
Brown never had a chance. The Bucs' No. 1 run defense was more than up to the task, plugging up everything inside with stacked boxes and stretching all outside runs to the sideline. And after the Eagles fell behind 21-10 in the fourth quarter, they turned to Dion Lewis as the hurry-up back. The good news is that Brown should be fresh for Thursday's home game against the Bengals and LeSean McCoy (concussion) is highly unlikely to be cleared for that one. Brown will be on the RB1 radar as a bounce-back candidate.

Thu Dec 6 201208:54Bryce Brown walking around squeezing clay
Eagles RB Bryce Brown was walking around the locker room squeezing a ball of clay Wednesday.
The only blemish on Brown's eye-opening breakout has been three lost fumbles in two games. Running backs coach Duce Staley says the rookie has weak hands, hence the clay. Still, the Eagles are willing to live with Brown's crippling fumbles because he's averaging 8.06 YPC over the last two games and has scored four touchdowns. He'll be an every-down back again against the Bucs this week as LeSean McCoy's (concussion) season is in serious doubt.

Tue Dec 4 201210:51Bryce Brown will stay involved this season
The Philaldelphia Inquirer confirms Bryce Brown will likely be a "part of the offense" even if LeSean McCoy (concussion) returns.
The three costly fumbles aside, Brown's play over the last two weeks has given the Eagles a flash of positivity. Showing unique burst and acceleration, the seventh-round rookie has smashed records while rushing 43 times for 347 yards and scoring four touchdowns in the last two weeks. McCoy is currently in Phase 3 (out of five) of his recovery and won't be rushed back with the 3-9 Eagles in full-blown evaluation mode. If Shady does return this season, he'll be sharing the load with Brown.

Sun Dec 2 201223:59Bryce Brown's monster night marred by fumble
Bryce Brown looked like a superstar against the Cowboys in Philadelphia's Week 13 loss, rushing 24 times for 169 yards and two touchdowns.
He added four catches for 14 yards. Brown was unstoppable for the second straight game, but just like Week 12, he committed a soft fumble that torpedoed the Eagles' hopes of winning. With Philly trailing 31-27 with 3:50 remaining, Brown plunged into the hole protecting the ball with only one hand. It was promptly poked out, and returned for a game-sealing fumble six by Morris Claiborne. It was a sobering capper to an otherwise eye-popping night. Brown possess rare speed and vision, and used it to reel off gains of 24, 10, 39, 20, 17, 10 and 13. He was lethal around the edge, and tough up the middle. He's not going to supplant one of the league's top backs in LeSean McCoy, but Brown will remain a huge part of the game-plan even once Shady returns. He's gained an absurd 372 yards on 51 touches the past two weeks.

Wed Nov 28 201209:13Bryce Brown hits hole harder than McCoy?
Beat writer Jeff McLane says rookie RB Bryce Brown "did a better job of hitting the hole" than LeSean McCoy.
Brown's 23 touch, 189 yard and two touchdown breakout performance on Monday night was not a fluke. The former No. 1 high school player in the country attacked the hole with vigor and got downhill in a hurry. The two fumbles he lost were careless and can be corrected by coaches simply imploring him to carry the ball closer to his body. With McCoy's concussion proving to be serious and the Eagles' season in the toilet, Brown could be looking at a multiple starts. He'll be a borderline RB1 against the Cowboys Sunday.

Mon Nov 26 201223:48Bryce Brown erupts for 189 yds, 2 TDs in loss
Bryce Brown rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries and caught four passes for 11 yards in Monday night's 30-22, Week 12 loss to the Panthers.
Brown, in his first career start in place of the injured LeSean McCoy (concussion), busted out of the gates and was really the only Eagle to show up against Carolina. After quitting the Kansas State football team in 2011, Brown was a seventh-round pick in this year's draft. He showed a wonderful blend of power and speed and is a back that doesn't waste many steps. Brown sees the hole and hits it hard, which is the opposite of McCoy. McCoy is more of an improviser and creator, so the Eagles could have a nice one-two punch for the future. However, at this point, McCoy hasn't been cleared, so Brown may be in line for a multi-week audition as the No. 1 guy in the backfield. The only blemish on the night were two lost fumbles due to not holding the ball close to the body. Brown has a match with the Cowboys in Week 13, who are down to Ernie Sims and Dan Connor at inside linebacker.

Sat Nov 24 201213:07Reid confirms Brown will start with McCoy out
Eagles head coach Andy Reid confirmed that Bryce Brown will start on Monday night against the Panthers with LeSean McCoy (concussion) out.
Philadelphia beat writers and OC Marty Mornhinweg had confirmed as much during the week, bit it's always good to hear it from the top dog's mouth. Dion Lewis will work in as the change-of-pace back. Brown currently comes in as Rotoworld's No. 14 running back for Week 12 and could approach RB1 territory against a bottom-10 fantasy run defense. We'd expect the Eagles to lean more on Brown than fellow rookie QB Nick Foles.

Fri Nov 23 201212:06Eagles expect Bryce Brown to start for McCoy
Eagles OC Marty Morhinweg confirmed that Bryce Brown is expected to start for LeSean McCoy (concussion) versus the Panthers in Week 12.
"My expectations are very high with Bryce Brown," said Morhinweg. "I would expect him to do very well." Mornhinweg added that the rookie is "fast, strong, physical, and tough." With a three-down skill set and the ability to run inside as well as outside, Brown is a borderline RB1 option against a defense allowing the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing backs.

Tue Nov 20 201209:00Bryce Brown next man up for Eagles
The Philadelphia Inquirer confirms Bryce Brown is expected to start if LeSean McCoy (concussion) can't play in Week 12.
Brown is not your garden-variety seventh-round rookie. He was the No. 1 high school player in the country back in 2008, ahead of Trent Richardson. He also ran circles around incumbent backup Dion Lewis at camp, earning the right to serve as McCoy's caddy. And Brown has proceeded to average 4.40 yards per carry on his 32 totes this season. There's plenty of plug-n-play appeal here with the Eagles set to face the Panthers' vulnerable defense on Monday Night Football.
