Sun Jan 26 201423:18Nick Foles earns MVP as Rice defeats Deion
Nick Foles earned Pro Bowl MVP honors as Jerry Rice's team defeated Deion Sanders' in Sunday night's Pro Bowl game, 22-21.
The game was actually somewhat entertaining despite its odd construction, with Rice and Sanders "drafting" each of their teams in a two-day process we could hardly stomach. Most importantly, no players suffered any significant injuries. In Sunday's game, Foles completed 7-of-10 throws for 89 yards and a 12-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Cameron. Chiefs ILB Derrick Johnson was named Defensive MVP, racking up nine tackles and a forced fumble.

Mon Jan 6 201409:18Nick Foles can't get paid until 2015
The Eagles can't sign Nick Foles to a contract extension until after the 2014 season.
Per the terms of the CBA, drafted players have to play under their rookie contract through the third year. So much like Russell Wilson, Foles will play out next season as one of the biggest bargains in the league at $615,000. It gives the Eagles a full season to be absolutely sure they want to commit to Foles as their franchise quarterback and it also brings them a windfall of cap space. This year he finished the regular season eighth in completion percentage (64.0), first in yards per attempt (9.12) and first in passer rating (119.2) while throwing 27 touchdowns against two interceptions.

Sat Jan 4 201423:38Saints hold Foles to 195 yards, earn road win
Nick Foles completed 23-of-33 passes for 195 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions in Saturday's 26-24 Wild Card loss to the Saints.
It was nearly a storybook ending to a magical season for Foles as he led the Eagles on a 77-yard touchdown drive to give them a 24-23 lead with under five minutes to go. But he left too much time on the clock as the Saints marched right back down the field for a game-winning field goal as time expired. It won't put a damper on Foles' 2014 outlook. Pegged as Michael Vick's backup after narrowly losing a camp battle, the second-year quarterback finished the regular season eighth in completion percentage (64.0), first in yards per attempt (9.12) and first in passer rating (119.2). He threw 27 touchdowns against a remarkably low two interceptions. With a full offseason as the clear-cut starter to work through a Chip Kelly offense he already appears to have mastered, the 2014 upside will be massive. Foles will be a mid-range QB1 with upside.

Sat Jan 4 201410:35Mid-20s temps on tap for Saints-Eagles
The forecast for Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia is calling for temperatures in the mid-to-low 20s throughout Saturday night's Saints-Eagles playoff game.
The game has an 8:10 PM ET kickoff. Philadelphia was hit with 6-7 inches of snow earlier in the week, and the grounds crew estimates it has removed 2-3 billion pounds of powder from the stadium leading up to the Wild Card game. The only weather that will affect Saturday night's game is biting-cold temperatures. Winds will be in the 3-5 MPH range, and there's a zero percent chance of precipitation. Snowfall is expected to hit Philadelphia again Sunday.

Sun Dec 29 201323:52Nick Foles leads Eagles to NFC East title
Nick Foles completed 17-of-26 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns as the Eagles beat the Cowboys 24-22 in Week 17 to clinch the NFC East.
The Eagles' game plan didn't ask Foles to do much, but he was able attack the Cowboys' secondary on deep throws downfield and connected on touchdowns with LeSean McCoy and Brent Celek in the first half. Foles was able to complete a high-percentage of his passes and didn't have any interceptions despite facing heavy pressure all night, though he took five sacks and fumbled in the third quarter. He finishes the regular season with a 64-percent completion mark, 2,891 yards, and 30 total touchdowns. With the win, the Eagles will host the Saints in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday.

Sun Dec 22 201323:33Foles throws for 230 yards, 2 TDs in blowout
Nick Foles completed 21-of-24 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 16 win over the Bears.
He added two carries for 17 yards. It was another impressive outing from Foles, who came out firing with two touchdowns in the first quarter. He only had four incompletions in a game where the Eagles generated 514 yards of total offense. Foles connected with Riley Cooper from three yards out on his first score and later hit Brent Celek in the flats for his second touchdown. He's passed for 2,628 yards and has an MVP caliber 25:2 TD-to-INT ratio in nine starts this season. The Eagles will take on the Cowboys in Week 17 on Sunday Night Football to decide the NFC East.

Sun Dec 8 201316:41Nick Foles finally throws a pick, but wins
Nick Foles completed 11-of-22 passes for 179 yards with one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's Week 14 win over the Lions.
Yes, Foles threw his first interception of the season. But it can be blamed on the absurd snowy conditions as he had a ball simply sail on him. Other than that, Foles continued to impress and helped fantasy owners with a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. He also would have had another touchdown pass late, but a wide-open Brent Celek correctly slid down short of the end zone so the Eagles could kneel down and run out the clock. Foles is going to to be a top-five quarterback at Minnesota's atrocious pass defense in Week 15.

Sun Dec 8 201311:30Light snow in Philly for Eagles vs. Lions
A light snowfall is expected during Sunday's Eagles vs. Lions game in Philadelphia.
It's flurrying a little now, but the wind will be under 10 MPH and the accumulation is expected to stay below one inch. We wouldn't downgrade anyone in this potential shootout. There are no surprises in the Eagles' inactive list: QB Matt Barkley, S Earl Wolff, CB Curtis Marsh, RB Matt Tucker, LB Najee Goode, T Matt Tobin and T Dennis Kelly.

Mon Dec 2 201313:46Eagles HC Kelly commits to Foles long term
Coach Chip Kelly told reporters Monday he is committed to Nick Foles as the Eagles' long-term starting quarterback.
"He's the starting quarterback for the next 1,000 years here," said Kelly. Foles has earned the commitment and then some with a 19:0 TD-to-INT ratio as a passer and 63.3 completion rate through nine appearances. He's rushed for two more scores, and the Eagles have quietly emerged as the NFL's most underrated team. We still wonder if Kelly will use a mid-round draft pick in 2014 on a more mobile signal caller, but Foles' future is obviously shining bright. He's on the cusp of stable QB1 value in Dynasty leagues, and will be an every-week starter during the 2013 fantasy playoffs.

Tue Nov 26 201311:55Eagles name Foles starter for rest of season
Coach Chip Kelly confirmed Nick Foles will be his starting quarterback for the rest of the season.
Foles will be the starter for the rest of the season, with Michael Vick relegated to a backup role. It's an expected decision, as Foles is averaging 307.0 passing yards per game over his four starts with 16 touchdowns and no interceptions. Foles will be a QB1 against the Cardinals.

Sun Nov 17 201318:10Nick Foles uses legs in win over Redskins
Nick Foles completed 17-of-26 passes for 298 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Sunday's Week 11 win over the Redskins.
Foles came up inches short of two touchdown throws as Brent Celek and Riley Cooper were each stopped at the 1-yard line. He still had a nice fantasy day because he rushed nine times for 47 yards and scored a touchdown on a zone-read from four yards out. It highlights some underrated athleticism from the second-year pro. Foles has now led the Eagles to three straight wins and still hasn't thrown a pick all year. In his four starts, he's averaging 307.0 passing yards per game. Foles isn't giving this job back to Michael Vick and will be a QB1 when the Eagles come out of their bye.

Mon Nov 11 201313:48Chip Kelly endorses Nick Foles
Speaking Monday, coach Chip Kelly confirmed Nick Foles will remain the Eagles' starting quarterback going forward.
"16 touchdowns, no interceptions," Kelly said rhetorically. "Why would we change?" It's refreshing candor from a coach who could have easily tried to hide the obvious truth behind banal coachspeak. Michael Vick (hamstring) might not be healthy enough for Week 11, anyways, but it's clear the starting job is Foles' until further notice. He'll be a legitimate QB1 against the Redskins' pathetic pass defense on Sunday.

Mon Nov 11 201313:20Eagles sticking with Nick Foles at QB
Coach Chip Kelly made it "fairly clear" Monday that Nick Foles is locked in as the Eagles' starter going forward.
"Because it's working," Kelly said. Kelly will likely scour the draft for a mobile quarterback next spring, but he's going to ride one-dimensional Foles for the rest of this year. Through seven 2013 appearances, Foles has posted a Peyton Manning-like 16:0 TD-to-INT ratio with a 17th score on a scramble. Foles will continue to be a fantasy QB1 when Philly hosts Washington in Week 11.

Sun Nov 10 201317:50Nick Foles throws three more TDs in victory
Nick Foles completed 12-of-18 passes for 228 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-13 win at Green Bay.
The stats are nice, but this was not Foles' best performance. Twice he threw ducks into double coverage and twice his receivers somehow came down with touchdown catches. Once was a 55-yarder to DeSean Jackson off a deflection and later it was Riley Cooper adjusting to the ball for a 45-yard score. Still, we can't ignore how effective Foles has been this season. He's now thrown 16 touchdowns and no interceptions, and is averaging 281.7 yards per day in four starts. Foles will be a QB1 in a home game against the Redskins' rancid defense in Week 11. He's not giving this job back to Michael Vick anytime soon -- maybe not ever.

Sun Nov 3 201319:02Foles blows away Raiders for 7 TDs, 406 yards
Nick Foles immolated the Raiders in the Eagles' Week 9 win, completing 22-of-28 passes for 406 yards, seven touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Foles was pulled midway through the fourth quarter with the Eagles winning 49-13. Foles' seven touchdowns tie an NFL record held by six other players. As you may remember, Peyton Manning became the sixth player in league history to throw for seven scores in Denver's Week 1 win over the Ravens. Coming off one of the worst starts by any quarterback in the NFL this season, Foles simply did whatever he wanted against the Raiders' hodgepodge secondary, putting the perfect amount of loft underneath every throw. Every time he spotted an advantageous matchup, he exploited it. Foles averaged 13.9 yards per attempt, and had seven completions of 20 yards or longer. His touchdowns went for two, 17, 63, 15, 25, 46 and five yards. Now the owner of a 13:0 TD:INT ratio on the season, Foles will get the Packers on the road in Week 10. Michael Vick (hamstring) may not get another start, regardless of his health.

Nick Foles (concussion) is practicing in full for Week 9.
Officially cleared to start against the Raiders, Foles will get a chance to redeem himself as a QB2 after face-planting in Week 7. Oakland's defense has been playing good ball, but is not an overly imposing matchup. Foles is Rotoworld's No. 14 quarterback for Week 9.
