Mon Oct 28 201323:19Report: Eagles likely to start Foles in Wk 9
FOX 29 Philly's Howard Eskin is "hearing" Nick Foles (concussion) will return to practice on Tuesday and is "likely" to start in Week 9 against the Raiders.
Foles hadn't been cleared to practice as of Sunday afternoon, but he's ostensibly taken steps forward since in the NFL's protocol testing. He'd be a much better option than overwhelmed rookie Matt Barkley. Michael Vick is out indefinitely with a potentially severe hamstring injury. Foles faceplanted in Week 7, but has otherwise consistently moved the Eagles' offense when under center. He'll be a QB2 with some upside if he gets the nod from Chip Kelly against Oakland.

Fri Oct 25 201313:15Nick Foles ruled out for Week 8
Nick Foles (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 8.
Michael Vick will start against the Giants despite his hamstring being less than 100-percent healthy. Foles figures to get medically cleared in Week 9, but no longer warrants a roster spot in 10- and 12-team fantasy leagues.

Thu Oct 24 201311:47Nick Foles won't practice Thursday
Nick Foles (concussion) will not practice Thursday.
Foles still hasn't even taken his ImPACT test yet, making it unlikely he's cleared in time for Sunday. Look for Matt Barkley to serve as Michael Vick's backup against the Giants.

Wed Oct 23 201314:43Foles (concussion) remains sidelined
Nick Foles (concussion) remained sidelined at practice Wednesday.
Floes isn't going to play this week against the Giants. Matt Barkley will be Michael Vick's backup. Foles can be dropped in all re-draft leagues.

Tue Oct 22 201311:54Nick Foles won't practice Tuesday
Nick Foles (concussion) is not practicing Tuesday.
Even if Foles somehow gets cleared ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants, he's not going to start. He blew his chance at running away with the starting job by going 11-of-29 for 80 yards against the Cowboys in Week 7. Foles can be dropped across the board in re-draft formats.

Mon Oct 21 201314:03Foles officially diagnosed with concussion
Eagles backup QB Nick Foles has been officially diagnosed with a concussion.
"He says he feels good so we'll see how it goes as the week progresses," coach Chip Kelly said at Monday's presser. It makes Michael Vick (hamstring) the favorite to start in Week 8, but Kelly stopped well short of guaranteeing Vick will be ready. "Just because someone else got hurt, that doesn't make another guy get healthy quicker." We'd guess Vick is the Eagles' most likely Week 8 starter, with Foles still a possibility. At least for now, however, Matt Barkley can't be ruled out. The situation will be updated daily.

Sun Oct 20 201321:27Foles likely out as starter if Vick cleared
Even if Nick Foles (head) is cleared ahead of Week 8, he's unlikely to get another start if Michael Vick (hamstring) can go.
There are obviously a lot of moving parts here. But Foles was so inaccurate and inept against the Cowboys that we know one thing: If all of Chip Kelly's quarterbacks are healthy, his choice will be easy. The locker room won't let him go back to Foles. ProFootballTalk reported Sunday night that Vick has a chance to get cleared ahead of Week 8. We suspect the Eagles would put him out there at less than 100 percent.

Sun Oct 20 201315:51Struggling Nick Foles taken to locker room
Nick Foles left Sunday's Week 7 game against the Cowboys in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a head injury.
On a red-zone play, Foles held the ball way too long and took a sack. He got up slow and then was escorted to the locker room to be checked for a concussion. Before going down, Foles turned in one of the worst performances by a starting quarterback we've seen all year. He was incredibly inaccurate, going 11-of-29 for 80 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. With Michael Vick (hamstring) inactive, Matt Barkley is warming up.

Tue Oct 15 201312:17Nick Foles getting first-team reps once again
Nick Foles is getting the first-team snaps Tuesday.
Just like last week, Matt Barkley is second through the drills and Michael Vick is third. It's not a surprise after Vick admitted he's a ways off from being 100 percent and Foles performed flawlessly in the Week 6 win at Tampa. The Eagles coaches won't confirm Vick will get his job back once healthy, only saying they'll evaluate the situation on a week-to-week basis. We fully expect Foles to start Sunday's potential shootout with the Cowboys.

Thu Oct 10 201313:47Chip Kelly plans to drag out QB 'drama'
Speaking Thursday, Eagles coach Chip Kelly hinted he won't officially announce his starting quarterback until Sunday morning.
Asked when he has to have a decision by, Kelly responded "12:59 (ET)." That, of course, is one minute before the Eagles kick off against the Bucs. It's understandable that Kelly wants Tampa game-planning for two different quarterbacks, but we'd guess the Bucs are operating under the assumption that Nick Foles will start, and Michael Vick (hamstring) isn't a realistic candidate to suit up. That's how we're approaching Week 6.

Mon Oct 7 201313:53Chip: Foles could keep job with strong play
Speaking Monday, coach Chip Kelly didn't rule out the possibility that Nick Foles could keep the Eagles' starting job if he plays well in Michael Vick's (hamstring) absence.
Kelly was speaking in a general sense, but it's always noteworthy when a coach declines to unequivocally endorse his starting quarterback. That being said, the odds are low Foles shows enough to supplant Vick. The second-year pro had little trouble lighting up the Giants' truly pathetic defense, but will face far stiffer resistance from Tampa. Foles' lack of mobility is also always going to make him a poor fit for Kelly's offense, no matter what the coach says publicly.

Tue Aug 20 201315:17'Extremely unlikely' Eagles trade Nick Foles
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports it's "extremely unlikely" the Eagles trade Nick Foles after he lost out to Michael Vick in the team's quarterback competition.
The two play completely different styles of football, but Foles is the Eagles' only reasonably-experienced backup. The Eagles would be selling low on the 2012 third-rounder. Considering Vick's injury history, the Eagles have little reason to trade Foles.

Tue Aug 20 201311:44Nick Foles loses out in QB derby
Nick Foles has lost out to Michael Vick in the Eagles' quarterback battle.
Foles' one glaring error was a horrific red-zone interception during the second preseason game. Regardless, Vick simply played too well to cede the job while showing far superior upside. "This is a one-quarterback operation. This isn't going to be someone's going to look over their shoulder," coach Chip Kelly said while announcing his decision.

Sun Aug 18 201311:19Nick Foles 'playing things too safe'
The National Football Post heard from Eagles "observers" that Nick Foles has been "playing things too safe" in camp and preseason action.
Foles was reportedly showing tremendous accuracy earlier this summer, but that may have been the result of too many short passes and check-downs. Through two preseason games, Foles is 11-of-14 for 96 yards and an interception. He hasn't necessarily disappointed, but Foles also hasn't stood out. Michael Vick has overwhelmingly outplayed him and has sewn up the starting job.

Fri Aug 9 201320:56Foles outplayed by Vick Friday night
Nick Foles completed 5-of-6 passes for 43 yards and scrambled once for ten yards in the Eagles' preseason opener against New England.
Watching Michael Vick and Foles was like night and day; Vick looked exponentially more comfortable with a stronger arm, better composure, and oodles more big-play ability. Foles did well to move Philly's offense and engineer a TD drive capped by Bryce Brown's goal-line run, but these two quarterbacks aren't especially close based on their Friday night performances. Vick is going to win the job.

Thu Aug 1 201308:38Nick Foles struggling with the pads on
NJ.com says Nick Foles "hasn't looked the same" since the Eagles began practicing in pads Sunday.
Practice has intensified over the last few days and Michael Vick appears to be the one stepping his game up. On Wednesday, he excelled during his 24 first-team reps while Foles was just average on his 13 first-team snaps. Coach Chip Kelly continues to say that he won't truly be able to evaluate his quarterbacks until preseason games when they're facing a live pass rush. We still consider this Vick's job to lose.
