Sun Sep 11 201120:03Obomanu catches two balls for 12 yards
Seahawks WR Ben Obomanu caught two passes for 12 yards and rushed once for 13 more in Week 1 against the 49ers.
Obomanu got the start in place of Sidney Rice (shoulder) and was mostly invisible aside from a big fourth-quarter hit he took, briefly knocking him out of the game. Safely avoid the Seahawks' offense in your fantasy starting lineup.

Tue Sep 6 201111:32Obomanu gets run in place of Sid Rice
Ben Obomanu ran with the first-team offense Monday in place of Sidney Rice (shoulder).
Obomanu is over a shoulder injury of his own and ready to go as the No. 3 receiver. But even if Rice sits, there's not much upside here. Tarvaris Jackson is not a realistic threat to consistently get the ball to his wideouts.

Fri Aug 26 201111:59Ben Obomanu to make preseason debut
Ben Obomanu (shoulder) will make his preseason debut in Saturday's third preseason game.
Obomanu's shoulder injury is not considered serious but it has prevented him from going full speed for much of camp. He's expected to see action in the slot with the first unit, thus engaging in a battle with Golden Tate for snaps. There's no fantasy upside here, especially with Tarvaris Jackson looking inept.

Wed Feb 23 201121:22Ben Obomanu received $500K signing bonus
Ben Obomanu's three-year extension, signed on January 14, was valued at $6.9 million with a $500,000 signing bonus.
It's a fine contract for Obomanu, but certainly isn't starter's money. Obomanu's best fit is as a No. 3 or 4 receiver anyhow, so the Seahawks may continue to look for wideout help in the draft and free agency. While Mike Williams is a solid possession receiver, Seattle really needs a field stretcher.

Sun Jan 16 201118:02Obomanu totals 68 yards in playoff loss
Ben Obomanu caught four passes for 68 yards in the Seahawks' Divisional Round loss to the Bears.
The majority of Obomanu's production came on a 46-yard over-the-shoulder grab deep in garbage time. He spent the majority of the afternoon, struggling with the field conditions and tight coverage. After signing an extension last week, Obomanu will return to Seattle next season -- ideally as the third or fourth receiver.
Fri Jan 14 201117:08Seahawks extend WR Obomanu through 2014
Seahawks signed WR Ben Obomanu to a three-year extension through 2014.
Mon Jan 10 201117:53Ben Obomanu expected to play
Despite suffering a dislocated shoulder in Sunday's win over New Orleans, Ben Obomanu is expected to play in the Divisional Round at Chicago.
Coach Pete Carroll said Obomanu had "a phenomenal recovery," and Seattle's No. 2 receiver was able to return to Sunday's win. Obomanu closed the regular season with 494 yards and four touchdowns on 30 receptions.

Sat Jan 8 201120:27Obomanu has 43 yards on five grabs
Seahawks WR Ben Obomanu caught five passes for 43 yards in the team's Wild Card win over the Saints.
Obomanu hadn't topped 40 yards since Week 12, and it was just his fourth performance of the sort this season. He did well to rebound from a first-quarter shoulder injury, returning to finish with a team-high 11 targets.
Sat Jan 8 201117:19Obomanu leaves with shoulder injury
Seahawks WR Ben Obomanu left Sunday's game in the first quarter with a shoulder injury, but returned on the next possession.
Obomanu caught his third pass of the game early in the second quarter.
Sun Dec 26 201019:39Obomanu has just 18 yards
Ben Obomanu had two grabs for 18 yards in the Week 16 loss to the Bucs.
His 18 yards actually led all Seattle wideouts, as the Seahawks wound up with only 84 yards passing. Obomanu's fantasy prospects are severely limited now that Mike Williams is back in the lineup.
Sun Dec 19 201020:02Obomanu held to one catch in Week 15
Ben Obomanu was held to just one reception for seven yards against the Falcons in Week 15.
He also caught a two-point conversion attempt. Obomanu was targeted eight times, but both quarterbacks were off the mark. With Mike Williams back in the lineup, Obomanu is no longer a fantasy option. Send him back to the waiver wire.
Fri Dec 17 201017:46Ben Obomanu listed as probable
Ben Obomanu (hand) turned in a full week of practice and is listed as probable for Week 15 against the Falcons.
"Ben will be alright," coach Pete Carroll confirmed. Mike Williams (ankle) is also due back. It'd be hard to count on either player in the fantasy playoffs.

Wed Dec 15 201013:53Ben Obomanu to practice with hand cast
Seahawks WR Ben Obomanu will practice Wednesday with a cast on his lacerated hand.
Coach Pete Carroll is optimistic about both Obomanu and Mike Williams (foot) playing against the Falcons, although Carroll said similar things last week and both wideouts were inactive. Obomanu's return to practice is a promising sign, but this remains a situation to avoid in the fantasy playoffs.

Mon Dec 13 201011:11Obomanu's injury just too painful
Ben Obomanu tested out his lacerated hand before Sunday's game, but it was simply too painful for him to give it a go.
It's just something that needs to heal, and your guess is as good as ours as far as whether or not he'll feel well enough to play in Week 15. The Seahawks could certainly use him, as Mike Williams (foot, ankle), Deon Butler (leg) and Brandon Stokley (hamstring) are all banged up, as well.

Sun Dec 12 201014:44Seahawks WRs Obomanu, Williams out at SF
Seahawks WRs Ben Obomanu (hand) and Mike Williams (foot, ankle) are inactive for Week 14 at San Francisco.
Ruvell Martin and Deon Butler will start at receiver with Brandon Stokley in the slot. Butler and Stokely will be the best bets for targets, though neither can be recommended as WR3 options in the fantasy playoffs. Rookie Golden Gate should also see extra snaps, but there's too much fantasy bust potential there. Other Seahawks inactives: OT Breno Giacomini, DL Amon Gordon, DE Jay Richardson, OT Will Robinson, OG Chester Pitts, and QB J.P. Losman.
Fri Dec 10 201015:14Ben Obomanu to play against 49ers?
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll expressed optimism Friday that Ben Obomanu (hand) will be able to dress for Sunday's game at San Francisco.
"I think he'll play," said Carroll. Obomanu missed his third straight practice on Friday, and it's not hard to imagine him aggravating his laceration against the 49ers if his stitches come apart. Leave Obomanu on benches.

Thu Dec 9 201018:43Obomanu held out again on Thursday
Ben Obomanu (hand) missed practice again on Thursday.
Obomanu will likely sit out practice all week. The Seahawks may not make a determination on his playing status until Sunday. Don't expect to have him available as a WR3 option this week.

Wed Dec 8 201016:35Seahawks holding Obomanu out of practice
The Seahawks will hold WR Ben Obomanu (hand) out of practices early this week.
The Associated Press calls Obomanu's hand laceration as "severe," but the team is hoping he'll return to practice by Friday. Deon Butler is behind Obomanu on the depth chart, with rookie Golden Tate behind both of them.

Mon Dec 6 201018:40Carroll noncommittal on Obomanu
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll remained noncommittal Monday when discussing the Week 14 status of Ben Obomanu (hand).
"He got a split between his fingers that was pretty nasty," said Carroll. "It's going to come down to how they can protect him ... We just have to wait." We'll know more about Obomanu's status later this week, but it doesn't sound like he'll practice on Wednesday. The Seahawks play the 49ers in Week 14.

Mon Dec 6 201009:31Obomanu needed stitches
Although Ben Obomanu (hand laceration) insists he'll be able to play in Week 14, coach Pete Carroll did not sound so certain.
Obomanu needed several stitches yesterday to close up a major gash on his hand. "I don't know what to tell you on the future on that one, but it was really a nasty cut that he took. We'll see what that means," Carroll said. With Mike Williams (ankle) out at least one week, Obomanu has a real window of opportunity.
