Sun Dec 5 201020:05Ben Obomanu suffers mere laceration in win
Ben Obomanu suffered a hand laceration, not a fracture, in Sunday's win over the Panthers.
Obomanu took a huge hit over the middle from Panthers S Charles Godfrey in the second quarter and did not return. It's obviously a serious gash, but a fracture would have cost Obomanu his season. With Mike Williams (ankle, foot) in doubt, Obomanu belongs on a roster in all formats while we await a timetable.

Sun Nov 28 201019:58Obomanu goes off with Mike Williams out
Ben Obomanu caught five passes for 159 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.
Obomanu used Mike Williams' (foot) absence as a springboard to set a career high in yardage. Most of that came on an 87-yard bomb in the fourth quarter. Obomanu benefited from a spat of drops by Deon Butler and has the look of the No. 1 receiver as long as Williams is sidelined. With Golden Tate still not showing much, Obomanu is worth an add.
Sun Nov 21 201020:37Obomanu has nice game, don't expect much
Ben Obomanu caught five passes for 87 yards and a touchdown in Week 11 against the Saints.
Starting at flanker, Obomanu was able to burn Saints CB Jabari Greer for catches of 23 and 42 yards. He added a 2-yard touchdown grab on which he was wide open. It's a nice game for the veteran receiver, but the performance was more indicative of the Saints' depleted secondary than it was Obomanu's ability. Look for Golden Tate to emerge as the team's No. 2 wideout when he returns in Week 12.
Wed Nov 17 201015:36Seahawks bench Butler for Obomanu
The Seahawks have promoted Ben Obomanu into the starting lineup at flanker, replacing Deon Butler.
It's a fantasy irrelevant situation, really, but not a good sign for Butler going forward. Obomanu is mostly a special teamer, and has just 10 catches on the season. The job would likely be Golden Tate's if Tate was healthy.

Tue Jul 6 201018:39Obomanu saw time with first-team offense
Seahawks WR Ben Obomanu saw significant action with the first-team offense in offseason practices.
Deon Butler, Golden Tate, and even Mike Williams also saw plenty of time with the first unit, as T.J. Houshmandzadeh (sports hernia) and Deion Branch (knee) nursed injuries. Obomanu has had to fight for a roster spot every year, and he'll be doing the same again this summer. His special teams experience could give him an edge on Williams.

Thu Apr 15 201008:39Obomanu signs Seahawks' tender offer
Seahawks re-signed restricted free agent WR Ben Obomanu to a one-year contract.
Once a candidate to start opposite Deion Branch, Obomanu was no more than a fifth receiver and special teamer in 2009. He'll have to earn his roster spot with the new regime this time around.
