Jacob Tamme (hip) is practicing in full this week.
Just like last week. Averaging 3.7 catches for 33.6 yards, Tamme is an acceptable TE2.

Mon Oct 29 201200:42Jacob Tamme has three-catch night
Jacob Tamme caught three passes for 33 yards in Denver's Week 8 win over the Saints.
Tamme is firmly ahead of Joel Dreessen as Peyton Manning's No. 1 tight end, but unlike his days in Indy, Manning isn't utilizing his tight ends as a key weapon in his offense. Demaryius Thomas seems to be drawing a lot of the intermediary targets Manning used to reserve for Dallas Clark. Always a threat for a 5-6 catch game, Tamme is a perfectly fine TE2/fill-in option, but he's not someone you want to be relying on as a starter.

Wed Oct 24 201215:57Jacob Tamme has minor hip ailment
Jacob Tamme is dealing with a hip injury, but practicing in full this week.
He's in no danger of missing Sunday's game. Tamme hasn't exactly lit things up during his second go-around with Peyton Manning, but has notched at least five catches in half of his starts. He's a viable fill-in option, particularly in PPR leagues.

Tue Oct 16 201201:23Tamme a non-factor in Week 6 win
Jacob Tamme caught two passes for 27 yards in Week 6.
Tamme was targeted just twice on the night, but he did make a nice 25-yard catch to keep a Denver scoring drive alive in the second half. The tight end hasn't found the end zone since Week 1 and his fantasy light is dimming. Tamme and the Broncos have a Week 7 bye.

Sun Oct 7 201220:40Jacob Tamme has six-catch day in loss
Jacob Tamme caught six passes for 50 yards in Denver's Week 5 loss to the Patriots.
Tamme tied Demaryius Thomas with a team-high 11 targets, but again watched Joel Dreessen find the end zone while he was held without a score. Dreessen has scored in three consecutive games, while Tamme hasn't found pay-dirt since Week 1. It's an annoyance for fantasy owners, but averaging 4.2 catches for 29.1 yards, Tamme remains the only Broncos' tight end worth bye week fill-in consideration.

Sun Sep 30 201220:09Jacob Tamme has another quiet day
Jacob Tamme caught five passes for 38 yards in Denver's Week 4 win over the Raiders.
Peyton Manning was locked onto Tamme early, with four of his five catches coming before halftime. Tamme out-targeted Joel Dreessen 6-3, but it was Dreessen who managed to find the end zone, reeling in a difficult 22-yard catch to cap Denver's opening drive. Although visions of fantasy greatness were dancing in fantasy owners' heads in the preseason, Tamme has yet to clear 50 yards in a game, and found the end zone only once. He's on pace for a thoroughly TE2 60/500/4.

Thu Sep 27 201218:09Jacob Tamme gets in another full practice
Jacob Tamme (groin) was a full participant in Broncos practice for the second straight day Thursday.
Barring a setback, Tamme will be active and starting against the Raiders. Although Tamme has established himself as Peyton Manning's preferred pass-catching tight end ahead of Joel Dreessen, he's still just a TE2.

Wed Sep 26 201213:25Jacob Tamme practices Wednesday
Jacob Tamme (groin) participated in Broncos practice Wednesday.
It bodes well for Tamme's Week 4 status after he was briefly hobbled in Sunday's loss. Tamme has out-targeted Joel Dreessen 19-9 through Denver's first three games, and remains the Broncos tight end to own. He's a pure TE2, however.

Mon Sep 24 201208:24Jacob Tamme was able to return late
Jacob Tamme was able to return late in the Broncos' Week 3 loss to the Texans.
Tamme limped off in the fourth quarter and looked done for the day. But he gutted it out late as the Broncos tried to make a comeback, a sign of a mild Grade 1 strain. Tamme has just 10 catches for 87 yards and one touchdown through three weeks.

Tue Sep 18 201218:30Tamme played just 35 percent of snaps
Jacob Tamme played just 27-of-77 (35 percent) snaps versus the Falcons in Week 2.
Joel Dreessen, a stronger blocker, played 77 percent of the snaps. Tamme did play 49-of-59 (83 percent) snaps in the opener. Tamme isn't known to be injured, but he spent much of the second half of Monday night's game on the bench after being the intended target on two of Peyton Manning's first-quarter picks. Tamme is a high-risk fantasy play going forward.

Tue Sep 18 201201:08Tamme limited to two catches and 13 yards
Jacob Tamme caught two passes for 13 yards in Week 2 against the Falcons.
Tamme was targeted just four times, and the two that weren't reeled in were intercepted by the Falcons early in the first quarter. Tamme wasn't seen on the field for much of the second half, even though the Broncos were in comeback mode. Second tight end Joel Dreessen is a better blocker. Tamme is still the tight end to own in Denver.

Mon Sep 10 201201:10Jacob Tamme posts 5/43/1 line
Jacob Tamme caught five passes for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Steelers.
Joel Dreessen notched a catch before Tamme - who was reception-less until mid-way through the second quarter - but Tamme ended up drawing only two fewer looks than each of Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas. Dreessen was targeted only twice, making one catch for six yards. Tamme was clearly Manning's preferred tight end this evening. Tamme's YAC ability leaves much to be desired, while Dreessen has the ability to make himself a factor in the passing game, but Tamme is the tight end to own in Denver. He could produce like a low-end TE1.

Thu Aug 2 201200:10Tamme, Dreessen targeted heavily in camp
Broncos TEs Jacob Tamme and Joel Dreessen have been two of Peyton Manning's most targeted receivers in team drills and seven-on-sevens.
The Denver Post and the Broncos official website expect the tight-end duo to be a major part of Manning offense, invoking comparisons to Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. "They're going to pose a real problem (for defenses)," safety Mike Adams said. Tamme is the better fantasy bet of the two, though it's fair to wonder if Dreessen will be targeted more in the red zone.

Sun May 13 201208:53Broncos' tight ends will be first/second read
Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy says the tight end will be Peyton Manning's first and second read at times this season.
This is hardly a surprise based on the signings of Jacob Tamme and Joel Dresseen, who will team up with physical freak Julius Thomas and H-Back Virgil Green. Additionally, the team does not have an impact player in the slot, with Andre Caldwell and Brandon Stokley expected to share the duties. Denver will go heavy on two-tight end sets and Tamme figures to pace the field in snaps. He's a borderline top-12 fantasy option at the position.

Fri Mar 23 201215:10Broncos strike 3-year, $9M deal with TE Tamme
Broncos agreed to terms with TE Jacob Tamme on a three-year, $9 million contract with $3.5 million guaranteed.
Tamme will be the slot or "move" tight end in Denver's offense, with Joel Dreessen operating on the line of scrimmage. Reuniting with Peyton Manning, Tamme will be a popular sleeper to target as a TE2 toward the end of fantasy drafts. He runs a 4.6-flat at 6-foot-4, 236, and has a knack for getting open. In 2010, Tamme racked up 67 catches for 631 yards and four touchdowns, finishing as the No. 15 tight end despite starting only eight games. Tamme just turned 27.

Fri Mar 23 201215:04Jacob Tamme wants $3M-$3.5M per season
Free agent TE Jacob Tamme is reportedly seeking in the range of $3 million to $3.5 million per year.
The John Carlson contract in Minnesota was a curveball for the tight-end market, so it's forgivable that Tamme would be seeking something at least close to that range. Tamme is a much more accomplished NFL player than Carlson. The Broncos reportedly "blanched" at Tamme's asking price, however, and he will likely have to bring it down in order to sign a contract soon.

Fri Mar 23 201212:44Report: Broncos still talking to Tamme
Despite the Joel Dreessen signing, the Broncos are reportedly still negotiating with free agent TE Jacob Tamme.
Meanwhile, we continue to hear nothing but the sound of crickets on Dallas Clark. While a Tamme-Dreessen combination would work well for the Broncos, it would be a quagmire in fantasy terms. Neither tight end is strong after the catch, though they both can get open and catch the ball.
