Tue Mar 20 201222:19Tamme set to visit Broncos
Free agent TE Jacob Tamme will visit the Broncos.
Tamme left his Seahawks visit without a deal, but it would be far from surprising if he never left Denver. A pure pass catcher, Tamme racked up 67 receptions for 631 yards in just 10 games while filling in for Dallas Clark in 2010. He'd almost certainly be a part of a pass-catching tight end duo in Denver, perhaps with fellow free agent Clark.

Mon Mar 19 201217:28Jacob Tamme an option in Denver?
NFL.com's Jason La Canfora believes the Broncos will consider signing free agent TE Jacob Tamme.
The Denver Post is already on the record as expecting the Broncos to sign former Peyton Manning confidant Dallas Clark, but Clark's recent injury history would necessitate a capable backup. Tamme caught 67 passes for 631 yards in 10 games after Clark was lost for the season in 2010. At the rate former Colts are getting connected to the Broncos, Marvin Harrison might want to consider getting in shape.

Mon Mar 19 201210:01Free agent Tamme to visit Seattle
Free agent TE Jacob Tamme will visit the Seahawks.
It's the first we've heard of Tamme since the beginning of free agency. A pure pass catcher, he wouldn't be a good fit in a Seahawks offense that's called on its tight ends to do little more than block under Pete Carroll.

Fri Dec 23 201100:07Tamme held to just 10 yards in Week 16
Jacob Tamme was held to just 10 yards on one reception against the Texans in Week 16.
Tamme saw just two targets compared to Reggie Wayne's 14 and Pierre Garcon's 12. He played a major role on the final drive. Tamme lost the game-winning touchdown to a J.J. Watt deflection, but set up Wayne's 1-yard touchdown by drawing a pass interference penalty at the goal-line. Tamme won't be a fantasy option at Jacksonville next week regardless of Dallas Clark's (neck) status.

Sun Dec 11 201116:29Jacob Tamme scores 13-yard touchdown
Jacob Tamme caught one pass in Week 14, executing for a 13-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter against Baltimore.
Just like last week, the Ravens gave up a late-game garbage-time touchdown to a backup tight end. (In Week 13, it was Evan Moore.) Tamme appeared to be on the field for only a handful of snaps, and was targeted once to Dallas Clark's six. Drop Tamme off your fantasy roster despite the fluky score.

Sun Dec 4 201118:46Tamme continues to outperform Dallas Clark
Jacob Tamme caught five passes for 49 yards in Sunday's loss to the Patriots.
Tamme continues to outproduce Dallas Clark this season and is used primarily as a security blanket in the Colts base offense. He's nothing more than a speculative add in the deepest of formats.

Tue Nov 8 201110:03Jacob Tamme expected to be Colts' starter
Jacob Tamme is expected to be the Colts' starting tight end for the foreseeable future.
Both Dallas Clark (leg) and Brody Eldridge (hand) are out for a "significant" amount of time, if not the whole year. However, owners should be careful not to expect the kind of production we saw out of Tamme in 2010 when Clark went down. Curtis Painter has proven to be one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the league and the Colts' broken-down offensive line needs consistent help blocking. Tamme is unlikely to top Clark's 2011 averages of 3.1 catches and 31.8 yards per game.

Thu Oct 27 201117:47Colts TE Tamme practicing fully
Colts TE Jacob Tamme (concussion) practiced fully on Thursday.
Tamme should be good to go for this week's game. He has been primarily a special teamer with Dallas Clark healthy this season.

Sun Oct 23 201121:57Jacob Tamme leaves SNF with head injury
Colts TE Jacob Tamme left Sunday night's game during the second quarter after sustaining a head injury.
With the score of the game 34-7 in favor of the Saints at halftime, unless the injury is truly minor we don't expect him back. If this is a concussion he will be subject to the league's independent review process.

Sat Jan 8 201123:52Tamme has five catches in loss
Jacob Tamme caught five balls for 46 yards in the Colts' Wild Card round loss to the Jets.
Tamme arguably should've drawn a defensive pass interference penalty deep in the red zone during the fourth quarter, but no flag was thrown after he was rocked by a Jets defensive back just as Peyton Manning's pass hit made its way to Tamme. Tamme, 25, showed in 2010 that he is a more than capable replacement for Dallas Clark. Unfortunately, he's under contract next season and Clark will be returning. Tamme's looking lots of special teams in 2011.
Sun Jan 2 201119:53Tamme piles up seven more catches
Jacob Tamme caught seven passes for 68 yards in Sunday's win over the Titans.
After Dallas Clark went down in Week 6, Tamme proved himself as one of the waiver pickups of the year. He averaged 6.7 catches for 63.2 yards with four touchdowns over the final 10 weeks, locking up weekly elite TE1 status. Clark will return next year, rendering Tamme virtually useless in fantasy. But he'll have at least one more shot to put his skills on tape when the Colts host the Jets in the playoffs next week.
Thu Dec 30 201017:56Tamme not expected to be traded
The Indianapolis Star's Mike Chappell believes the Colts have no plans to trade Jacob Tamme this offseason.
Chappell expects Dallas Clark to "once again get the vast majority of the work and Tamme to return to being his understudy." The Colts learned how important depth was this year with Clark, Austin Collie, and Anthony Gonzalez all missing huge chunks of time. Clark is signed through 2013, which leaves Tamme practically valueless after Week 17 in Dynasty leagues.

Sun Dec 19 201017:42Tamme racks up seven catches
Jacob Tamme caught seven passes for 34 yards in Sunday's win over the Jaguars.
Tamme got shook up in the first half after his neck got snapped violently, but played through it and appeared fine. He racked up most of his catches after Austin Collie (concussion) left, but found no space over the middle. Credit the Jags' defense. With Collie almost certainly out next week, Tamme will again be a high-end fantasy play against the Raiders.
Fri Dec 17 201014:43Jacob Tamme practices fully Friday
Jacob Tamme (illness) practiced fully each day this week and will start Sunday's game against Jacksonville.
The Jags have allowed the sixth most fantasy points to tight ends, the fourth most receiving yards, and the sixth most touchdowns. Coming off a long week, a rejuvenated Tamme should be started as a top-three tight end.
Wed Dec 15 201016:34Jacob Tamme practices fully Wednesday
Jacob Tamme (knee) returned to a full practice on Wednesday.
The long week after last Thursday's win served Tamme well, and he should be in fantasy lineups this week against the Jags. It's believed Tamme played reduced snaps against Tennessee at least partially because the Colts were on a short week and he was banged up. He should be healthy now.
Thu Dec 9 201023:55Tamme held to just 36 yards in Week 14
Jacob Tamme was held to just 36 yards on four receptions against the Titans in Week 14.
Tamme was targeted just five times and spent large stretches of the game on the sidelines. The Colts appeared to be limiting his playing time with Brody Eldridge taking his place on running downs in a clock-killing second half. He's averaged just four receptions and just over 40 yards the past two weeks while playing through nagging injuries.
Thu Dec 9 201018:17Tamme expected to play Thursday night
"All indications" are that Jacob Tamme (knee) will play at Tennessee Thursday night, according to NFL Network's Steve Wyche.
We should have the inactives list available within the hour to confirm, but Tamme was expected to play all along. Only Houston and Carolina have given up more yards to tight ends than the Titans, so Tamme is arguably the No. 1 fantasy option at tight end this week.

Wed Dec 8 201016:11Tamme listed as questionable for Thurs. night
Jacob Tamme (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice and is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game.
Tue Dec 7 201017:43Jacob Tamme held out with knee injury
Colts TE Jacob Tamme missed Tuesday's practice with a knee injury.
Beat writer Phillip B. Wilson, who has been all over the Colts' injury situation this week, has expressed no concern over Tamme's availability. Check back Wednesday afternoon to be sure, but we expect him to be fine for Thursday's game at Tennessee.

Sun Dec 5 201020:57Tamme an afterthought in Wayne's big game
Jacob Tamme caught four balls for 47 yards in the team's Week 13 loss to Dallas.
Tamme was third on the team with seven targets, his lowest amount on the season. Peyton Manning spent a majority of the game trying to exploit the Cowboys' banged up secondary, checking down to Tamme only when there was no open deep options. Expect a bounce back game in Week 14 as the Colts take on a reeling Titans' defense giving up the 8th most fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
