Thu Aug 18 2011 | 08:18 | Bengals are toying with Jordan Palmer? |
According to WCPO-TV's Dennis Janson, Carson Palmer has told a friend that he thinks the Bengals are toying with his brother, Jordan. |
Carson believes the Bengals are giving Jordan hardly any reps now and will cut him when it's too late to latch on elsewhere. What Carson really needs to realize is that his brother isn't anywhere near a starting-caliber NFL quarterback. He's No. 3 on the Bengals' depth chart and this is how third-string quarterbacks are often treated. |

Fri Jul 1 2011 | 08:45 | Dhani Jones: Jordan Palmer not the answer |
Free agent LB Dhani Jones suggested the Bengals will have to find a stopgap veteran QB this summer because Jordan Palmer isn't a realistic option to start in Week 1. |
"Jordan Palmer's not the answer -- absolutely not," Jones said. Asked how he would feel if Carson's little brother does end up starting the season, the 2010 defensive captain replied, "I would question the decision, absolutely." Nothing can be ruled out with this organization, but we'd still be surprised to see Jordan under center to start the season. |

Mon May 9 2011 | 20:58 | Bengals to only carry three QBs into camp? |
Bengals.com speculates that the team will go to training camp with just three quarterbacks -- Jordan Palmer, Dan LeFevour, and rookie Andy Dalton. |
Palmer is a tendered restricted free agent, while LeFevour is under contract and Dalton will get signed once the lockout ends. Beat writer Joe Reedy was recently asked on Twitter to give percentages on each of the above starting Week 1. He speculated Dalton as having a 55 percent chance, with 22 percent for Palmer, 0 for LeFevour, 20 for a free agent, and 3 for Carson Palmer. |

Wed Mar 2 2011 | 11:55 | Jordan Palmer plans to throw to receivers |
Restricted free agent QB Jordan Palmer plans to spend the spring throwing to Bengals receivers in individual workouts. |
It's worth keeping in mind that Carson's far less gifted younger brother is next on the depth chart. Jordan will presumably receive an RFA tender because he and Dan LeFevour are the team's only other quarterbacks "under control" for 2011. The Bengals will be forced to address the QB position early in the draft with Carson threatening retirement and no free agency on the horizon. |

Wed Aug 11 2010 | 21:32 | Jordan Palmer could overtake O'Sullivan |
Offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski is giving Jordan Palmer a legitimate chance to oust J.T. O'Sullivan as the Bengals' No. 2 quarterback. |
O'Sullivan was awful in the Hall of Fame game, completing 4-of-11 passes for 33 yards and a pick. Palmer, with Matt Jones as his No. 1 receiver, went 10-of-20 for 102 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. Pick your poison: The Bengals aren't going to win if either of the above has to start games. |
