Wed Oct 3 201214:55Michael Jenkins missing on Wednesday
Michael Jenkins (ribs) was held out of Wednesday's practice.
Jenkins played through the injury in Sunday's win over the Lions, so he's likely just receiving a day of rest. Third on the depth chart with Jerome Simpson finally off suspension, Jenkins is miles from fantasy relevance.

Thu Sep 6 201220:56Michael Jenkins will start for Simpson
Michael Jenkins will start in place of suspended WR Jerome Simpson versus the Jaguars in Week 1.
The Vikings waited for another candidate to step up, but it never happened for Devin Aromashodu, Stephen Burton or Jarius Wright. No better than the third or fourth option in the passing attack, Jenkins is off the fantasy radar.

Tue Aug 14 201221:36Report: Michael Jenkins takes $1.5M pay-cut
ESPN 1500 Twin Cities reports Michael Jenkins recently agreed to slash his $2.5 million salary to $1 million.
"Molasses Mike" saw the writing on the wall. Per beat writer Tom Pelissero, Jenkins also agreed to cut his $2.5 million 2013 salary to $825,000. The 60 percent pay-cut coupled with rookie Greg Childs' season-ending injury could be enough to secure Jenkins' 2012 roster spot, but it's doubtful he'll be back in 2013. Jenkins is Rotoworld's No. 104 receiver.

Mon Aug 6 201214:23Frazier needs to see something from Jenkins
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier says Michael Jenkins (torn meniscus) still needs to "come along physically" during the preseason.
Jenkins has been insisting he's 100 percent since May, but Christian Ponder admitted he was wobbly in June's minicamp. Greg Childs' season-ending injury has improved Jenkins' odds of keeping his roster spot, but due $2.5 million coming off another dud of a season, Molasses Mike is a prime candidate for release.

Sat Jul 28 201220:34Jenkins no longer dealing with knee issue
Michael Jenkins (torn meniscus) is no longer experiencing issues with his surgically repaired knee.
Jenkins insists he's fully healthy, but his effectiveness coming back from a significant injury remains to be seen. Entering his age-30 campaign, he figures to be squarely on the roster bubble. Working against him is the fact he's due $2.5 million this season.

Sat Jul 21 201216:56Ponder: Michael Jenkins was feeling his knee
Michael Jenkins (torn meniscus) was having trouble planting on his knee and didn't look comfortable running during minicamp, according to Christian Ponder.
Back in May, Jenkins insisted that the knee was at 100 percent. Ponder's comments suggest otherwise. Already lacking separation ability, Jenkins can't afford to have a hitch in his giddyup. Due $2.5 million at age 30, he's no lock to stick on the Vikings' final roster.

Fri Jul 20 201201:04Michael Jenkins may lose roster spot
ESPN 1500 Twin Cities hints that Michael Jenkins' roster spot could be in danger heading into training camp.
Beat writer Tom Pelissero suggests that Jenkins could end up losing his roster spot if fourth-round pick Greg Childs "comes along." A 30-year-old possession receiver, Molasses Mike doesn't play special teams and is owed a $2.5 million salary. The Vikings wouldn't lose much by moving on before the season.

Wed Jun 20 201220:15Jenkins likely to start in place of Simpson
Vikings OC Bill Musgrave mentioned Michael Jenkins first when asked who will fill in at split end during Jerome Simpson's three-game suspension.
Jenkins is projected to start at X receiver, with Percy Harvin at Z. In three-receiver sets, Harvin would move to the slot with someone like Devin Aromashodu or Stephen Burton playing outside, opposite Jenkins. When Simpson returns, look for Jenkins to be the third receiver. Harvin is the only Vikings wideout we'd roster in fantasy leagues, regardless of Simpson's availability.

Tue May 22 201216:34Michael Jenkins (knee) back to full health
Michael Jenkins indicated that he's fully healed from the torn meniscus that ended his season in late November.
Jenkins will be on the field when the Vikings start OTAs on May 30. While he figures to start opposite Percy Harvin while Jerome Simpson serves an early-season suspension, Jenkins is undraftable in fantasy leagues.

Wed Feb 1 201209:47Jenkins to be demoted to third receiver?
ESPN 1500 Twin Cities expects Michael Jenkins (knee) to be dropped to the No. 3 receiver in 2012.
Failing to separate from defenders, Jenkins did the majority of his damage against zone coverages before a season-ending knee injury in late November. The Vikings desperately need to add a playmaker opposite Percy Harvin.

Wed Nov 30 201112:49Michael Jenkins has a torn meniscus
Michael Jenkins' season-ending knee injury is a torn meniscus.
It's a sigh of relief for Jenkins. A torn meniscus does require surgery, but the subsequent rehab and long-term effects aren't nearly as severe those that stem from a torn ACL or ruptured patella tendon. Jenkins should be 100 percent well before 2012 training camp.

Tue Nov 29 201122:08Report: Michael Jenkins doesn't have torn ACL
The St. Paul Pioneer Press' Jeremy Fowler reports the injury that sent Michael Jenkins (knee) to injured reserve is not a torn ACL, but that he does require surgery.
This doesn't necessarily mean Jenkins hasn't suffered a similarly serious injury like a torn patella tendon, but does increase the odds he's dealing with something more minor. Fowler reports he will undergo surgery later this week. Jenkins was on pace for 55 catches before going down, which would have been a new career high by two.

Tue Nov 29 201118:39Vikes lose WR Jenkins, FS Abdullah for season
Vikings placed WR Michael Jenkins (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Minnesota also lost safeties Husain Abdullah (concussion) and Tyrell Johnson (hamstring) as well as LS Cullen Loeffler (back) for the final five games. The exact nature of Jenkins' injury isn't clear just yet. With just over a month remaining, it doesn't have to be an ACL or patella tear to finish his season. Though Jenkins signed a three-year deal last summer, the Vikings will have to upgrade substantially in 2012.

Mon Nov 28 201113:41Michael Jenkins suffers knee injury
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier reveled at his Monday press conference that Michael Jenkins suffered a knee injury in Sunday's loss, and "could miss time."
This would explain Jenkins' dud of a day had his two-catch, 25-yard performance not been so typical. If Jenkins is staring at a multi-week absence, he could be headed to injured reserve. Devin Aromashodu should be in for an increase in snaps if Jenkins is unavailable for Week 13.

Sun Nov 27 201118:02Jenkins held to 25 yards in Week 12
Michael Jenkins managed just two receptions for 25 yards against the Falcons in Week 12.
Jenkins was a non-factor on four targets. He's cleared 50 yards just twice all season heading into a Week 13 matchup with the Broncos. Jenkins isn't worthy of a roster spot even in 14-team leagues.

Sun Nov 20 201117:24Michael Jenkins goes for 30 yards in Week 12
Michael Jenkins caught four passes for 30 yards in the Vikings' Week 11 loss to the Raiders.
Jenkins half his yards on a fourth-quarter prayer pass from Christian Ponder with :02 left. Molasses Mike promptly fumbled the lateral attempt to Toby Gerhart. Lacking any hint of consistent production, Jenkins can be left off rosters in 10- and 12-team leagues. He won't be a fantasy option in Week 12 at Atlanta.

Thu Nov 17 201117:49Michael Jenkins limited again on Thursday
Michael Jenkins (knee) was limited again in Thursday's practice.
Jenkins is fully expected to play against the Raiders. Having managed to top 50 yards in just two of nine games this season, Jenkins belongs on the waiver wire in all but the deepest fantasy leagues.

Wed Nov 16 201118:02Michael Jenkins limited in practice
Michael Jenkins (knee) was limited in Vikings practice Wednesday.
The injury shouldn't threaten Jenkins' availability for Week 11, but he's not on the fantasy radar any longer with just six targets in his last two games.

Tue Nov 15 201100:31Jenkins catches three balls for 49 yards
Michael Jenkins had three receptions for 49 yards in Week 10 against the Packers.
Jenkins has just two productive fantasy games under his belt this season, and in the rest he has had no more than four catches and tonight's 49 yards. At this point, he should be on waivers in most formats.
