Sun Oct 30 2011 | 17:55 | Jenkins held to 30 yards in Week 8 |
Michael Jenkins caught just two passes for 30 yards against the Panthers in Week 8. |
We warned that his career game last week was a fluke and a tough matchup was looming against Chris Gamble. Jenkins saw just two targets on the afternoon, placing just sixth among Vikings pass catchers. While Jenkins is on pace for 58 receptions and 724 yards, the majority of that production came in two games. He can dropped heading into the Week 9 bye. |

Sun Oct 23 2011 | 20:05 | Jenkins totals 111 yards, 1 TD vs. Packers |
Michael Jenkins caught three passes for a career-high 111 yards and one touchdown against the Packers in Week 7. |
It took Jenkins eight years, but he finally notches his first 100-yard performance. He out-jumped Charles Woodson for a 24-yard touchdown and would have added a second score but his elbow touched down at the 1-foot line on a 71-yard reception to open the game. While Jenkins was Chris Ponder's favorite target this week, he's not going to be a viable WR3 option going forward. |

Mon Oct 17 2011 | 00:16 | Jenkins mediocre once again against Chicago |
Michael Jenkins caught four balls for 45 yards in the Vikings' 39-10 loss to the Bears in Week 6. |
Averaging four catches per game for 36.8 yards per game, you can do better than Molasses Michael Jenkins. He might have the worst separation skills of any receiver in the NFL. |

Sun Oct 2 2011 | 16:48 | Michael Jenkins catches 1-yard touchdown |
Michael Jenkins caught just one pass for a one-yard touchdown in the Vikings' Week 4 loss to Kansas City. |
Jenkins got in front of Chiefs CB Brandon Carr for the fourth-quarter score, but was a non-factor otherwise. Essentially just a big body out there, Molasses Mike is averaging nine yards per catch through four games. While Jenkins does have a pair of scores, he won't be a fantasy option against Arizona in Week 5. |

Sun Sep 25 2011 | 18:46 | Jenkins leads Vikings with 88 yards |
Michael Jenkins led the Vikings with nine catches and 88 yards against the Lions in Week 3. |
Jenkins is no threat to break a big play, cut he can catch the ball. He was targeted 11 times versus just five for Percy Harvin and four for Bernard Berrian, oddly taking on a bigger role than Adrian Peterson while playing with a second-half lead. We're betting the receptions are yards will stand as season highs. |

Sun Sep 18 2011 | 18:25 | Michael Jenkins finishes with 29 yards |
Michael Jenkins caught three passes for 29 yards in Week 2. |
Jenkins doesn't have any big-play ability and struggles to beat man coverage, which hurts his chances of becoming any kind of fantasy factor in a really bad passing attack. Leave him on the waiver wire for Week 3 against Detroit. |

Sat Jul 30 2011 | 18:23 | Vikes bring aboard Michael Jenkins |
Vikings signed WR Michael Jenkins to a three-year contract. |
The Vikings were searching high and low for someone to line up across the field from Percy Harvin, but appear to have set their sights on the "low" end of things. A blocking wideout who has seen his receptions decrease each of the past two seasons, Jenkins isn't likely to be in for any sort of a revival season in Minnesota. He could end up third on the depth chart behind Bernard Berrian. |

Fri Jul 29 2011 | 08:35 | Jenkins dumped by Falcons as expected |
Falcons released WR Michael Jenkins. |
As expected. The writing was on the wall for the blocking receiver when the Falcons gave up the farm to draft Julio Jones in the first round. There's no way they were going to keep a No. 3 or 4 wideout at a $3.5 million base salary. Jones will start opposite Roddy White, with Harry Douglas coming into the slot on three-wide sets. |

Mon Jul 18 2011 | 09:41 | Jenkins could be a cap casualty |
ESPN's Pat Yasinskas believes Michael Jenkins is a candidate for release. |
With the salary cap expected to come in around $120 million, the Falcons aren't going to have much room to operate. Jenkins has been replaced by rookie Julio Jones and is scheduled to count $4.1 million against the cap. The blocking receiver won't attract any interest on the trade market. |

Wed Jun 15 2011 | 12:14 | Falcons open to shopping WR Jenkins? |
ESPN NFC South blogger Pat Yasinskas suggests the Falcons could shop Michael Jenkins after the lockout is lifted. |
Atlanta plans to move Julio Jones right into the starting lineup opposite Roddy White, leaving Jenkins' standing with the club up in the air. We just can't imagine any team dealing for Jenkins' $3.5 million salary. Blocking skills aside, he's simply not starter material for a rebuilder or a contender. There's a reason the Falcons upgraded. |

Mon May 23 2011 | 14:14 | Falcons expected to keep Michael Jenkins |
According to Pro Football Weekly, Michael Jenkins is not expected to lose his roster spot on the Falcons. |
Jenkins, 29, is due $3.5 million and has been replaced as a starter by Julio Jones. However, PFW hears that Atlanta is "trying to build a deep receiver corps" and has a role for Jenkins. The suggestion is using Jenkins in the slot along with Harry Douglas. Jenkins' salary is still hefty for a No. 3/4 wideout, and he may have to convincingly beat out Kerry Meier to stay on. |

Fri Apr 29 2011 | 09:18 | Falcons not expected to dump Jenkins |
NFL.com's Steve Wyche doesn't believe the Falcons will "dump" Michael Jenkins after trading up for Julio Jones Thursday night. |
Wyche is a former Falcons beat writer, so he has a good read on the situation. Still, Jenkins is due $3.5 million in 2011, and he has been "put on notice" that his starting job is in jeopardy. If he does stick, Jenkins could end up in the slot -- especially if Harry Douglas fails to consistently make plays for a second straight year. |

Mon Apr 11 2011 | 10:38 | Michael Jenkins likely back as No. 2 WR |
Beat writer Jay Adams expects Michael Jenkins to return as the Falcons' No. 2 receiver. |
There is no one on the roster that is capable of unseating Jenkins, whose value to the Falcons shows up more in blocking than receiving. A playmaking rookie could conceivably push Jenkins in camp, but would be a long shot to truly make a dent. Jenkins, who struggles to separate, has never topped more than 53 catches or 777 yards in any of his seven NFL seasons. |

Sat Jan 15 2011 | 23:30 | Michael Jenkins finishes with 6/67 line |
Michael Jenkins caught six passes for 67 yards in Saturday's playoff loss to the Packers. |
Jenkins did most of his damage against Packers undrafted rookie cornerback Sam Shields. Turning 29 this offseason, Jenkins' inability to create separation was a drag on Atlanta's offense all season. Harry Douglas doesn't appear to be the answer, either, so the Falcons will need to look outside the organization for an explosive bookend to Roddy White. |
Tue Dec 28 2010 | 01:37 | P.I. negates 38-yard touchdown for Jenkins |
Michael Jenkins caught five passes for 40 yards against the Saints in Week 16. |
The Saints were more than happy to focus their attention on Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez, leaving Jenkins in single coverage throughout the night. Matt Ryan recognized this, throwing the ball Jenkins' way 9 times over the duration of the ballgame. Jenkins had a potential 38-yard touchdown interfered with, ultimately leading to a lost touchdown for Matt Ryan when Michael Turner fumbled away the ball two plays later. Jenkins can't be trusted in Week 17 despite the solid performance. |
Sun Dec 19 2010 | 19:43 | Michael Jenkins finds end zone in Week 15 |
Michael Jenkins caught three passes for 48 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks in Week 15. |
Jenkins got a step on his man in the end zone, and Matt Ryan hit him with a perfect 24-yard bailout throw just before getting lit up. Jenkins has two scores in the past three weeks, but he's topped 50 yards just three times all season. |
Sun Dec 12 2010 | 18:20 | Michael Jenkins a fantasy afterthought in win |
Falcons WR Michael Jenkins caught just two balls for 26 yards on five targets in a Week 14 divisional victory over the Panthers. |
Given the Falcons' penchant for maintaining a ball-control offense, any Atlanta wideouts besides Roddy White should not be gracing fantasy playoff rosters. Jenkins was targeted by Matt Ryan on a second-quarter 3rd and 11 pass into the end zone, but the throw was off line. Despite the appealing matchup, Jenkins should be left in your fantasy free agent pool when Atlanta heads to Seattle Week 15. |
Sun Dec 5 2010 | 22:39 | Jenkins gets game-winning TD in Week 13 win |
WR Michael Jenkins caught three balls on four targets for 40 yards and his first touchdown of 2010 as the Falcons upset the Buccaneers 28-24 in Tampa Bay. |
With four minutes left in the game, Jenkins caught a nine-yard touchdown strike from Matt Ryan which would prove to be the go-ahead score. In spite of his game-winning clutch play, Jenkins should not be trusted in fantasy leagues with Roddy White hogging targets in the Atlanta passing game. |
Fri Dec 3 2010 | 18:37 | Michael Jenkins practices fully again |
Michael Jenkins (probable, quad) practiced fully again on Friday. |
Jenkins' availability bodes well for Michael Turner's downfield run bocking. |
Thu Dec 2 2010 | 18:23 | Jenkins upgraded to full participation |
Michael Jenkins (quad) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. |
Jenkins is fine to play against the Bucs this week. He's averaged just 51.5 yards in six games this season. |
