Wed Aug 4 202101:37Abraham Toro Homers For Third Time As A Mariner
Seattle Mariners infielder Abraham Toro went deep yet again Tuesday, giving him three home runs in his seven games in Seattle. Including his ninth homer of the year, Toro went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI against the Tampa Bay Rays. Though Mariners players were not pleased with the trade that brought Toro to the team, he's more than earning his keep so far, and looking like an excellent add for fantasy purposes. Toro has eligibility and second and third base, and will be batting fifth every day. He also adds stolen base upside, with four swiped bags on the season.

Sun Aug 1 202121:34Abraham Toro Doubles Twice Sunday
Seattle Mariners infielder Abraham Toro had yet another strong game Sunday, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored against the Texas Rangers. Toro has nine hits in 18 at-bats since coming over from the Houston Astros, five of which have gone for extra bases. He seems to be settling nicely into the fifth spot of the lineup, and he offers enough in both the power and steals departments to be worth a pickup in all but the shallowest of fantasy formats.

Fri Jul 30 202123:59Abraham Toro Has Three More Hits Friday
Seattle Mariners infielder Abraham Toro may not have been who Mariners fans wanted the team to acquire at the trade deadline, but he's made an immediate impact. While his four-game home run streak was ended Friday, Toro still went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. He now has a five-game hit streak, and figures to play every day for Seattle. With eight homers and four steals in just 119 at-bats this season, there's plenty to recommend him as a fantasy add.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Aaron Judge went from being a late scratch to hitting a tiebreaking single in a two-run 10th inning to help the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays for the second straight day, 3-1 on Wednesday night. Although no announcement was made about why, the All-Star right fielder struck out in the fifth pinch-hitting for Estevan Florial. Judge returned to the team Tuesday after going on the COVID-19 injured list July 16. New York also had a big night off the field. The Yankees reached a deal to get All-Star slugger Joey Gallo from the Texas Rangers, a person familiar with the trade told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the move had not yet been announced and was subject to approval of medical records of the players involved. Greg Allen was hit by a pitch from Pete Fairbanks (3-4) leading off the 10th, putting runners on first and second. Judge... [More]

Wed Jul 28 202123:05Abraham Toro Homers, Steals A Base Wednesday
Seattle Mariners infielder Abraham Toro continued making an immediate impact after Tuesday's trade, going 1-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run against his former team, the Houston Astros. He also stole his fourth base of the season. Toro has now homered in four consecutive games, two for Houston and two for Seattle. He has a .736 OPS, eight homers, and four steals in 114 at-bats this season. He figures to see plenty of playing time, and potentially an uptick in value, in Seattle.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Franmil Reyes homered twice, the first a second-inning blast that bounced out of Progressive Field and almost dinged a bicyclist pedaling on a street, and the Cleveland Indians beat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-2 on Wednesday. Reyes’ leadoff homer in the second glanced off the pedestrian bridge in left field and landed on the plaza area between the ballpark and Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The ball traveled an estimated 446 feet. Reyes wasn’t done. He finished off Cleveland’s three-homer inning in the third with his 19th of the season, a 421-foot drive to center. César Hernández and José Ramírez also homered in the inning for Cleveland. Kwang Hyun Kim (6-6) gave up all four homers and lost for the first time since June 20. Wed Jul 28 202114:47Abraham Toro Hits First Seattle Homer
Seattle Mariners infielder Abraham Toro made his team debut Tuesday night, pinch-hitting and homering against his former team, the Houston Astros. In a strange turn of events, Toro homered on back-to-back nights to essentially the same spot in the ballpark, only on one night the homer came against the Mariners for the Astros, and the next it was the opposite, having been traded in a package to Seattle for Kendall Graveman. Toro has a .711 OPS on the season with seven homers and three steals, and he figures to see increased playing time and fantasy value in Seattle, unless he's moved yet again.
