Fri Feb 21 201414:15Clippers considered favorites for Big Baby
The Clippers remain strong frontrunners to sign free agent Glen Davis (Achilles).
This one could be spotted from a mile away, but it's always nice to get some reinforcement. The Clippers are very thin behind DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin at their big spots and coach Doc Rivers is a Big Baby fan from back in their Celtics days. Davis has not looked comfortable on offense in his time with the Magic and has never been a per-minute stud, so the loss of playing time is a death blow to his fantasy value.

Thu Feb 20 201419:22Magic working on buyout of Glen Davis
Orlando is working on a contract buyout of Glen Davis, according to Yahoo! Sports.
There have been rumors of the Magic wanting to buy out Davis and not pulling any deals off today certainly increased the chances of that happening. He also suffered an Achilles injury on Wednesday, but that likely has little to do with this decision. As far as future destinations go, the Clippers are the first team to come to mind after dumping two of their backup bigs for salary and the Nets still have their Disabled Player Exception, but there's still no way fantasy owners should own Big Baby almost anywhere. Tobias Harris is locked in for minutes while a suddenly-improving Kyle O'Quinn is worth a look in some formats.Victor Oladipo is also indirectly helped by this news.

Wed Feb 19 201419:59Glen Davis (right Achilles) will not return
Glen Davis will not return to Wednesday's game against the Cavs due to a sore right Achilles tendon.
It wasnt a serious injury on the court, but the team may still proceed with caution and re-evaluate him on Thursday. Davis should be considered questionable for Friday's game against the Knicks. Kyle O'Quinn and Andrew Nicholson should get more playing time while Victor Oladipo could move back into the starting lineup.

Wed Feb 19 201400:22Glen Davis plays 13 minutes in loss
Glen Davis played just 13 minutes in Tuesday's start for the Magic, finishing with two points and two rebounds on 1-of-4 shooting.
There are no reports of an injury, so he either did something to tick off coach Jacque Vaughn, or was benched for match up reasons. We should know more on Wednesday, but for now, expect to see Big Baby back in the starting lineup on Tuesday at Cleveland.

Fri Feb 7 201422:24Glen Davis shoots the ball well in win
Glen Davis shot 7-of-8 from the field for 14 points during Friday's 103-102 win over the Thunder, adding five boards, one assist and one steal in 28 minutes.
He's really stepped it up with Jameer Nelson back in the lineup over his last two games. Interestingly, Davis' field goal percentage is five percent lower when Nelson is on the court compared to the point guard being on the bench this season. Big Baby has a low upside in fantasy, so the needle hasn't moved too much on him despite the improved output lately.

Mon Feb 3 201421:38Glen Davis scores seven points in 36 minutes
Glen Davis scored seven points with four boards, two assists, one steal and three blocks against the Pacers on Monday night.
The block total matched his season high, but Davis shooting just 3-of-9 from the field and 1-of-2 from the line put a dent in this line. His stats have seen a slight overall increase with Jameer Nelson out of the lineup over the past two, so he is worth using in some formats for short-term value.

Sun Feb 2 201415:53Glen Davis plays better against former team
Glen Davis returned to TD Garden on Sunday vs. the Celtics, playing 33 minutes for 15 points, three boards, two assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer.
He shot 6-of-12 from the field and made both free throws for one of his better lines in a long time. Davis' previous 10 were not very impressive, averaging 9.6 points, 6.0 boards, 0.2 blocks and 0.7 steals on 43.4 percent from the field. He's had some better games with Jameer Nelson (knee) out of the lineup before, but we're not ready to say he's "back" after one game.

Fri Jan 31 201423:02Glen Davis scores four points vs. Bucks
Glen Davis was shut down on Friday vs. the Bucks with four points, five boards, two assists, one steal and one block in 23 minutes.
That's six straight games in single-figure scoring for Davis and he's not doing anything to support the claim of him being owned in even 14-team leagues right now. He's an inefficient scorer and doesn't provide much defense, so stubborn fantasy owners shouldn't feel too bad about cutting him after tonight.

Wed Jan 29 201421:30Glen Davis scores five points in loss
Glen Davis had just five points and four rebounds on 1-of-4 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Raptors.
If you thought he was bad without Nikola Vucevic around, he was even worse tonight. The only thing Big Baby has going for him right now is that he's starting over Tobias Harris. And if he doesn't step up his game at some point in the near future, he could lose his job. In case you're scoring at home, he hasn't scored in double figures in five straight games, hasn't hit double digits in rebounds in seven straight, and has blocked just one shot in his last 10 games. Yuck.

Tue Jan 28 201422:18Glen Davis quiet again in loss to Pistons
Glen Davis had just eight points and five rebounds in 23 minutes of Tuesday's loss.
He was actually playing much better when Nikola Vucevic was healthy, and the fact it appears he's getting closer to a return might be good news for Big Baby. He's still worth owning, but until he gets hot again, is not a must-start fantasy player right now.

Sun Jan 26 201420:49Glen Davis held to single-digits again vs. NO
Magic center Glen Davis finished Sunday's 92-100 loss in New Orleans with nine points, seven rebounds and one block in 32 minutes of action.
He was victimized by Anthony Davis all night long, particularly on a monster dunk toward the end of the game which left Big Baby on the wrong end of the highlight reel. This marks three consecutive games in single-digits for Davis, whose fantasy value will go from bad to worse whenever Nikola Vucevic (concussion) returns to action.

Fri Jan 24 201422:51Davis slides hard against the Lakers
Glen Davis disappeared in Friday's win over the Lakers, scoring six points on 3-of-10 shooting with three rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes.
Davis wasn't even trying for rebounds and we're not sure if he's hurt or just had some bad pizza the night before. He has to be scoring and rebounding big to offset his many deficient areas in standard leagues, and even with Nikola Vucevic out right now he can be dropped for a hot free agent.

Wed Jan 22 201422:35Glen Davis quiet in loss to Hawks
Glen Davis had nine points and two rebounds on 4-of-10 shooting in 31 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Hawks.
He was supposed to be going off while Nikola Vucevic sits with a concussion, but that hasn't been the case recently. But even after tonight's debacle, he's averaging 12.8 points and 7.2 rebounds over his last five. And while those numbers are serviceable, the fact he has blocked just one shot in his last 10 games is kind of pathetic.

Tue Jan 14 201401:40Davis posts 19 and eight in losing effort
Glen Davis scored 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting with eight rebounds and one steal in Monday's loss to the Mavs.
This is exactly where Davis needs to be in order for him to return startable late-round value for owners in standard formats, as his fantasy deficiencies outside of shooting and rebounding demand it.

Sat Jan 11 201423:48Glen Davis scores 20 points in road loss
Glen Davis scored 20 points in a futile effort vs. Denver on Saturday, making 8-of-14 shots with six rebounds, one steal, one block and zero turnovers in 28 minutes.
Davis has missed double-digits just once in the past 14 games, and even that was a nine-point near miss. Unfortunately, his past-month averages of 12.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 blocks are paired with lousy 42.8 percent FGs and 64.0 percent FTs, which has made him unplayable in typical 12-team leagues.

Sat Jan 11 201402:32Davis double-doubles in loss to the Kings
Glen Davis scored 12 points on 4-of-12 shooting with 12 rebounds, one assist, two steals and four turnovers in Friday's loss to the Kings.
With Nikola Vucevic out indefinitely his low-end value is solidified, but as you can see the inefficiencies are a drag. Victor Oladipo scored 13 points on 5-of-14 shooting with one three, one board, three assists and a steal, and Jameer Nelson hit just 2-of-11 shots for six points, four rebounds and eight assists in the loss.

Thu Jan 9 201401:01Glen Davis scores 16 points at center
Glen Davis started at center against the Blazers on Wednesday with 16 points, six boards and two assists on 7-of-18 shooting in 36 minutes.
It was his sixth start at center and he's had some success there, averaging 17.0 points, 7.2 boards, 1.0 blocks and 1.2 steals in 36.2 minutes in those starts. Davis should be putting up better numbers while Nikola Vucevic (head) is out.

Tue Jan 7 201400:53Glen Davis goes for 9 & 11 in ugly loss
Glen Davis hit 3-of-9 shots for nine points, 11 rebounds, three steals and zero blocks in Monday's ugly loss to the Clippers.
Nikola Vucevic left with a possible concussion and if he's going to miss time, Davis will be a solid play until further notice. Davis is averaging about13 points, eight boards, a steal and a block over his last five games and should continue to roll if Vucevic, who was just returning from an ankle injury, misses more time with a concussion.

Thu Jan 2 201421:57Glen Davis double-doubles with no Vucevic
Glen Davis stepped up for 16 points, 13 rebounds, a steal and two blocks in Thursday's overtime loss to the Cavaliers.
With Nikola Vucevic out with a sprained ankle, so someone had to pick up the slack. Davis was that man tonight, but keep in mind he had just three rebounds in his previous game, and this was his first double-digit rebound game since Dec. 16. Vucevic's injury doesn't appear to be serious, so Davis' sudden rebounding prowess could be short lived.

Tue Dec 31 201319:39Glen Davis scores 10 points vs. Warriors
Glen Davis scored 10 points with three rebounds and one foul during Tuesday's 94-81 loss to the Warriors.
This was his sixth consecutive game without a double-double for Big Baby. In his previous five, he averaged 14.0 points, 6.2 boards, 2.0 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.2 blocks, so those aren't exactly must-own numbers. On top of that, he shot 57.1 percent from the line in that span and he's really slowed down. Things might pick up for Davis with Nikola Vucevic (ankle) going down tonight, making Davis a hold in fantasy leagues.
