Tue Nov 19 201312:18Glen Davis (foot) feels fine after practice
Glen Davis (foot) practiced without incident on Monday and will practice again on Tuesday.
Davis reportedly felt fine during practice and said he is working on his conditioning as he attempts to get back in game shape. The Magic have yet to put a timetable on Davis' return, but his return to practice could have the big man back on the court within the next week or two. Andrew Nicholson and Jason Maxiell have been filling in for Davis in his absence, and will lose minutes upon Big Baby's return.

Mon Nov 18 201311:50Glen Davis (foot) may practice this week?
Glen Davis (foot) may return to practice this week, as the Magic play only one game in the next five days.
We've yet to hear definitively that Davis will be on the court, but according to Magic writer John Denton, the extra days off "should allow [Orlando] to incorporate Glen Davis and Tobias [Harris] in practice." It's uncertain what role Big Baby will play whenever he does return, but Andrew Nicholson and Jason Maxiell may each lose minutes as a result.

Wed Nov 13 201317:08Glen Davis gets fined for destroying keyboard
Glen Davis was fined an undisclosed amount by the Magic for his actions over the weekend.
He was caught on video destroying a keyboard at an Orlando hotel after being told the hotel didn't have his reservation. Apparently, he wasn't given the nickname Big Baby for no reason, but the good news is that he's on the comeback trail from his foot surgery. Davis doesn't have a timetable for a return.

Sat Nov 2 201311:14Glen Davis says he will practice Saturday
Glen Davis said he would likely participate in team practices on Saturday.
It's important to note that the practice is likely non-contact. Davis still hasn't been cleared for full contact. Andrew Nicholson will continue to fill in for Davis while he is out.

Sat Oct 26 201311:35Glen Davis nearing full contact practices
Glen Davis will likely be cleared for full contact practices in the next two weeks.
The news comes from Magic GM Rob Hennigan. Davis was a fantasy sleeper heading into last year's draft, but poses a serious risk this year. The uncertainty surrounding his condition and the emergence of Tobias Harris and Andrew Nicholson have many shying away from Davis, and rightfully so.

Tue Oct 22 201316:09Glen Davis running up and down the court
Glen Davis (foot) has been running in practice and is taking jumpers.
He hasn't taken any contact yet and doesn't have a timetable to return. "They're watching me as much as possible, making sure that I don't skip any steps in this process," Davis said. Coach Jacque Vaughn has been entertaining the idea of playing Tobias Harris off the bench in the preseason, which may suggest Davis will start upon his return. Harris is worth a pick in the late-middle rounds of drafts while Davis' unclear outlook puts him on the fence as a late-round flier in some formats.

Sat Oct 5 201318:58Glen Davis has an interesting offseason plan
Glen Davis (foot) has been dieting and taking yoga classes as he prepares for the season.
He's eating six to seven small meals a day and doing yoga at 5:15 a.m. in a 100 degree room. Davis has been on the sidelines for camp and doesn't have a timetable to return, so he's a little more doubtful than probable to start the season on time. Tobias Harris should get the bulk of the minutes at power forward and could build off his massive second half from last year.

Mon Sep 30 201313:19Glen Davis (foot) won't start camp with team
Glen Davis (foot) won't be with the Magic at the start of training camp, according to coach Jacque Vaughn.
He still hasn't been cleared for basketball activities, but can take part in conditioning drills. It's discouraging to hear that he's still not healthy since he suffered the foot injury way back on January 30. Tobias Harris becomes a safer pick and Davis may be more trouble than he's worth at this point.

Sat Sep 28 201314:29Glen Davis (foot) cleared for conditioning
Glen Davis (foot) was cleared for conditioning on Saturday.
He still hasn't been cleared for basketball activities, which suggests he won't be around for the preseason opener next month. The Magic are going to be cautious with Davis and he's still considered questionable to start the year. If Davis can't suit up to start the regular season, Tobias Harris will have added opportunity to build off hims monstrous second half.

Thu Sep 26 201310:47Glen Davis (foot) to miss training camp
Glen Davis is not expected to participate in training camp, while there's also a chance he could miss the preseason and start of the regular season as he continues to recover from foot surgery.
Davis is going to get off to a very slow start this year, clearing the way for guys like Nikola Vucevic, Moe Harkless, Tobias Harris and Andrew Nicholson to all see heavy minutes for the first month of the season. Davis will play this year, but when he is at full speed is anyone's guess. Look for Harris to start at power forward until Davis is ready to go.

Tue Sep 24 201313:26Big Baby timetable to return still 'not firm'
Magic GM Rob Hennigan confirmed there is no timetable for Glen Davis' return from his second foot surgery.
"[Davis] is progressing on schedule... slowly", Hennigan said. "And that's by design. We're being very cautious and very vigilant in how he is preparing." Previous reports suggested that Davis would be cleared to play by the end of September, but Hennigan's quotes cast serious doubt on Big Baby's status for training camp.

Mon Sep 9 201316:46Glen Davis (foot) may be cleared by Oct. 1
Glen Davis (foot surgery) is expected to be cleared for basketball activities by the end of September, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Though encouraging, this doesn't necessarily mean that he will enter the regular season at 100 percent. He already aggravated the injury once before, requiring follow-up surgery, and the Magic have guys like Andrew Nicholson and Tobias Harris to handle the PF spot while Davis recuperates. Throw in the possibility that Orlando wants to trade Big Baby before the deadline, and his early-season outlook is shrouded with uncertainty.

Mon Sep 2 201317:13Magic will be 'overly cautious' w/ Big Baby
The Magic will be "overly cautious" with Glen Davis as he returns from foot surgery, team sources tell the Orlando Sentinel.
Big Baby already aggravated the injury once, requiring follow-up surgery, and the Magic are more interested in building his trade value than giving him minutes ahead of Andrew Nicholson or Tobias Harris. If he does stay on Orlando's roster once healthy, the Magic frontcourt will quickly become uncomfortably crowded.

Tue Jul 23 201315:17Glen Davis may not be ready for season opener
There's a possibility Glen Davis (foot) won't be ready for the start of the regular season.
Davis was in the midst of a breakout season when he broke his left foot in January. Then, earlier this month, he had to have a screw replaced and it sounds like he's back to square one. The Magic can afford to ease him back in slowly as they have Nikola Vucevic, Tobias Harris and Jason Maxiell up front. Davis' progress will be worth monitoring during training camp.

Thu Jul 11 201321:10Magic unsure of Big Baby's status for camp
The Magic are unsure if Glen Davis (foot surgery) will be ready for training camp and are taking his rehab process slow.
"We're just making sure it heals right," Davis said. "[The doctor] went in there and put in a bigger screw and a bone graft and make sure it's strong, strong, strong. Then, we'll start the rehab process over again." Davis had surgery on Monday to replace the left screw in his foot. He was sporting a hefty cast on his left foot while watching summer-league action in Orlando. He should be considered questionable for training camp.

Mon Jul 8 201319:23Report: Big Baby undergoes surgery on foot
Glen Davis underwent surgery on his left foot on Monday and is questionable for the beginning of training camp.
It was reported this week that Davis had a setback while working out at his alma mater LSU. "He's just been having some discomfort," said his agent John Hamilton. "He doesn't anticipate problems going forward. We just need to give it time to heal properly." Having checked in at over 300 pounds a few times last season, he's going to have his work cut out for him getting in shape in time to secure a primary role with the Magic.

Sun Jul 7 201309:41Glen Davis (foot) suffers setback in rehab
The Boston Globe reports that Glen Davis (left foot surgery) recently had a "setback" while working out at his alma mater LSU.
The Globe speculates that "this latest tweak may cause him to take most of the summer off." We'll keep an eye on Big Baby's health in the coming weeks, but it still sounds like he'll be ready to participate in Orlando's training camp.

Sun Apr 28 201309:22Glen Davis expected to be ready for camp
Glen Davis (foot) is expected to be healthy and ready for training camp.
Big Baby has lost an unspecified amount of weight after changing his diet in order to take pressure off of his foot, but there is a chance he is dealt in the offseason as the Magic continue their youth movement. "He has a decision to make," Davis said of GM Rob Hennigan when asked if he was in Orlando's long-term plans. "It could go both ways with a lot of things."

Wed Apr 10 201311:00Glen Davis could start running again in May
Glen Davis (foot) may be able to start running in May.
Davis said there is nothing to be gained by rushing his rehab, and he's right. He's also lost some weight to take additional stress off of his foot and has ample time to prepare for the start of next year.

Thu Mar 7 201313:46Glen Davis using vegan diet to lose weight
Glen Davis has transitioned to a vegan diet in order to lose some weight.
Davis wants to keep the weight on his fractured foot, but that's only part of the reason he's changed his diet. Big Baby would probably improve his conditioning by losing a little weight and replacing it with muscle.
