Tue May 21 2013 | 09:00 | Warriors GM expects Brandon Rush to return |
Warriors GM Bob Myers expects Brandon Rush (torn ACL) to pick up his player option for next year. |
Rush would have a hard time earning more than a minimum contract with incentives given that he's coming off of an ACL tear that kept him out for the season, so we'd guess Rush will return to the Warriors as well. |

Brandon Rush will have ACL surgery in New York on Wednesday. |
Rush hopes to return for the start of the 2013-14 season, but we should have a more precise timetable after the surgery. He blew out the knee in Novemeber, but delayed surgery long enough for his damanged MCL to heal. |

Brandon Rush not only tore the ACL in his left knee, but the MCL as well. |
He'll have to wait for the MCL injury to heal before having ACL surgery, which means December is the earliest that he'll go under the knife. Either way, his season is over and he'll fight to be ready to go next October. |

Sat Nov 3 2012 | 17:01 | MRI reveals torn ACL for Brandon Rush |
Brandon Rush was diagnosed with a torn ACL to his left knee and is expected to miss the rest of the season. |
It's a devastating blow to Rush and the Warriors. Rush has been an important part of Golden State's rotation and they lack depth at the wing positions. Harrison Barnes is expected to see his minutes extended and his 3-point prowess puts him right at the top of the list for players to add in all leagues. Barnes played just six minutes of the first half, then followed it up with 17 minutes in the second half. Jarrett Jack could also get more minutes as the Warriors may utilize a three-guard lineup, but Klay Thompson guarding NBA small forwards sounds like a recipe for disaster. |

Sat Nov 3 2012 | 00:20 | Golden State to use committee approach? |
In an interview with Ric Bucher, Warriors assistant coach Pete Myers said the team will use committee approach should Brandon Rush miss time. |
"We can slide Jack into the backcourt, and also extend Barnes minutes," Myers said. While Barnes is the best looking add at this time, we wouldn't bend over backwards to grab him. He did start the second half, though. |

Brandon Rush may have dislocated his knee and could be out for "a while," according to beat writer Marcus Thompson. |
He's going to get an MRI on Saturday and there's certainly an ominous feel to this injury. Harrison Barnes is a great speculative add for owners that aren't happy with the last player on their bench. |

Fri Nov 2 2012 | 23:10 | Brandon Rush injures left knee on Friday |
Brandon Rush injured his left knee and went to the locker room in the first quarter of Friday's game. |
It didn't look good. He went down in a heap, tried to get up and walk it off, then had to lay back down from what looked to be agonizing pain. Harrison Barnes is likely going to see a large enough increase in minutes to make him a near must-add player until the smoke clears. Stay tuned. |

Thu Nov 1 2012 | 02:24 | Brandon Rush scores 14 in first half |
Brandon Rush scored all 14 of his points in the first half of Wednesday's win over the Suns. |
Rush hit 6-of-9 shots and played 24 minutes off the bench, but Jarrett Jack got hot in the second half and limited his run. He's worth keeping an eye on, but like most other bench players in Golden State, isn't a must-own fantasy player at this point. |

Mon Oct 29 2012 | 16:04 | Brandon Rush to come off bench for Warriors |
Brandon Rush will begin the season in a reserve role for the Warriors. |
We wouldn't say that Rush was outplayed by rookie Harrison Barnes this preseason, but Mark Jackson feels he'd be a better fit with the second unit. It's a minor blow to Rush's fantasy appeal but his 3-point shooting allows him to return around 8th round value in 26 minutes per game. |

Wed Oct 24 2012 | 01:35 | Brandon Rush doesn't do much on Tuesday |
Brandon Rush scored just four points, while adding five boards, three assists and two steals in 19 minutes on Tuesday. |
Rush lost a little bit of ground with Harrison Barnes playing well. However, Rush's well-rounded game should give him the edge to hold off the rookie as Golden State's starting small forward on opening night. |

Sat Oct 20 2012 | 04:15 | Rush scores 18 points off the bench |
Brandon Rush scored 18 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 6-of-11 shots with four rebounds and a steal in 26 minutes. |
Rush hit two 3-pointers and outproduced tonight's starter Harrison Barnes, who scored six points on 2-of-5 shooting with two triples and not much else in 25 minutes. The bottom line is that Rush's defense is a better fit with one of the league's worst defensive starting fives, and the real issue is which guy takes the lion's share of minutes. |

Tue Oct 16 2012 | 00:33 | Brandon Rush in foul trouble off bench |
Brandon Rush came off the bench behind Harrison Barnes on Monday and played 16 minutes, finishing with five points, five fouls and a 3-pointer. |
Rush is battling with Barnes for the starting SF job and so far, Barnes is outplaying him. Whoever starts will be worth a draft pick, but chances are the non-starter will also offer some fantasy value. |

Wed Oct 3 2012 | 19:48 | Brandon Rush works with first unit on Wed |
Potential starting SF Brandon Rush worked with the first unit in Wednesday's practice. |
Mark Jackson said not to read into his pairings, which had Harrison Barnes with the second unit and Richard Jefferson with the benchwarmers. At this early stage this is how we see things playing out, and if that's the case then Rush will be worth a look at the end of your draft. |

Wed Sep 26 2012 | 19:29 | Jackson still doesn't know who starts at SF |
Coach Mark Jackson said he still doesn't know who will start at small forward. |
"I'll make that decision going forward and watching them as a unit. But right now I don't have an answer for you who my starting small forward is," Jackson said. Brandon Rush, Richard Jefferson and Harrison Barnes are all candidates to win the job and this will be an interesting position battle during training camp. The winner of the job would have sleeper appeal near the end of your draft. |

Thu Aug 2 2012 | 09:11 | Brandon Rush wants to be Warriors starting SF |
Brandon Rush wants to be the starting small forward for the Warriors next season. |
Rush, who just re-signed with the team on Tuesday, won't just be handed the job. "I'm coming in trying to get that starting job (at small forward)," he said. "I've been working hard the entire summer to build up on that." Rush shot 50.1 percent from the field and 45.2 percent from behind the 3-point line in 2011-12, but the Warriors just drafted Harrison Barnes seventh overall. If Rush does wind up in a starting role, he's going to be an intriguing player to gamble on in the latter portion fantasy drafts. |

Tue Jul 31 2012 | 12:59 | Brandon Rush, Warriors agree to two-year deal |
Warriors re-signed Brandon Rush to a two-year, $8 million contract |
The second year is a player option. It's the exact same contract that Golden State just gave to Carl Landry and gives Rush the option of becoming an unrestricted free agent next season. Rush should back up both shooting guard and small forward next season, but he'll need an injury or two to have sustainable fantasy value. He averaged 9.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.0 treys last season while shooting 50.1 percent from the field and 45.2 percent from behind the arc. |
