Mon Feb 3 201415:54Steve Nash listed as probable for Tuesday
Steven Nash (back) is listed as probable for Tuesday.
He is believed to be ready for this game, but odds are he will not play in Wednesday's road contest in Cleveland. Nash has dealt with too many injuries in the past two seasons to be worth owning in almost any league and his low minutes don't make him an attractive option.

Sun Feb 2 201416:22Nash, Blake and Farmar put in a full practice
Steve Nash (back), Steve Blake (elbow) and Jordan Farmar (hamstring) practiced in full on Sunday and could make his return on Tuesday, according to coach Mike D'Antoni.
Nash said he feels good and was been running up and down at practice. He's been since Nov. 10 with numerous setbacks along the way, so it's hard to imagine the rest of the season will go off without a hitch. The former MVP is unlikely to see anything more than his current season average of 22.5 minutes per game, so most owners can leave him on the wire. Kendall Marshall owners should probably be getting worried these days.

Fri Jan 31 201414:59Steve Nash could return on Tuesday night
Steve Nash (back) could return to the lineup on Tuesday night, coach Mike D'Antoni said on Friday.
He's practicing and taking contact this week and is getting closer to a return. Although, the probability of an aggravation of some kind takes the allure out of Nash as a pickup in fantasy. Nash played just 22.5 minutes per game before going down and that serves as a fair ceiling to his playing time. He's not worth owning in almost any league.

Thu Jan 30 201415:45Steve Nash (back) able to practice Thursday
Steve Nash (back) returned to full practice on Thursday, though he has already ruled himself out for Friday's game.
He hasn't played since early November and we'll need to see how his body reacts to practice before assuming that he'll return during L.A.'s upcoming road trip, which begins Tuesday in Minnesota. He's reportedly overcome the nerve-root irritation which has caused endless problems, but even if he stays healthy he's a marginal fantasy option among the Lakers' corps of PGs.

Wed Jan 29 201403:57Steve Nash (back) says he won't play Friday
Steve Nash (back) said he won't be able to play against the Bobcats on Friday.
He mentioned not being able to practice for 2.5 months as a big factor in his decision and is hopeful to play against the Wolves on Tuesday. Nash's minutes are going to be monitored in a major way upon his return and he has a good chance of aggravating his injury, so fantasy owners can leave him on the wire.

Tue Jan 28 201409:27Steve Nash (back) aims to practice Thursday
Steve Nash said that his most recent back injury isn't related to his nerve-root irritation, and he plans to practice on Thursday.
The Lakers' veteran won't play on Friday, but he could return to action during the Lakers' road trip which kicks off on Feb. 4. "Just to have a chance maybe to play is awesome," Nash said. "I've put in so much work over the last nine months, really. I'm hoping to get out there."

Mon Jan 27 201416:30Steve Nash still not back at practice yet
Steve Nash (back) did not practice on Monday.
The Lakers were hoping he could practice today and this news doesn't bode well for his chances of playing on Tuesday night. Fantasy owners can ignore him in almost all formats until he proves otherwise.

Thu Jan 23 201418:49Steve Nash (nerves) could return Tuesday
Steve Nash (nerves) could return as soon as Tuesday, according to Mike D'Antoni.
Nash hasn't played since late November and there are no guarantees that his 39-year-old body will hold up once he returns, but this is still terrific news for the Lakers' thin PG position. He's likely to play limited minutes regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench behind Kendall Marshall, and there isn't much incentive to pick him up in standard formats.

Fri Jan 10 201414:29Steve Nash could return on January 28
Coach Mike D'Antoni is hoping Steve Nash (back) can return to the lineup on January 28.
Nash's timetable has been pushed back numerous times and there have even been murmurs of his possible retirement He is 39 years old and made just 26.1 percent of his shots this year in what can be argued as the worst year of his career so far, so the Lakers aren't in a rush to bring him back before he's ready. Kendall Marshall will continue to hold down the fort until Jordan Farmar (hamstring) is ready. There's little reason to be stashing Nash in most formats.

Fri Jan 3 201414:12Steve Nash going to Vancouver
Steve Nash (back) will travel to Vancouver while the Lakers are on their seven-game road trip later this month.
The Lakers are on their Grammy trip from Jan. 15-26, so that would likely rule Nash out until February. The prevailing thought around the team is Nash is out at least three weeks, but it would not be a shock to see him out beyond that time. Kendall Marshall will hold down the fort and is worth a look in standard leagues.

Sun Dec 29 201314:34Steve Nash (back) does light shooting
Steve Nash (back) did some light shooting drills on Sunday and is still 2-3 weeks way from being re-evaluated.
He still has no timetable to return and his evaluation in 2-3 weeks might not bring the best news either. Nash was off to a terrible start in the first six games before injuries have kept him in street clothes, shooting 26.1 percent from the field for 6.7 points per game, so there's really no reason to stash him. Jordan Farmar should be owned in all standard leagues with his high fantasy ceiling.

Tue Dec 24 201313:11Steve Nash hopes to return in a few weeks
Steve Nash is working with his personal trainer in Canada and hopes to return in a few weeks.
Nash's original timeline was four weeks so "a few weeks" would keep him on a similar timeline that would have him returning around mid-to-late January. Upon his return, Mike D'Antoni is confident that Nash "will be in spot where he can finish up the season strong." Jordan Farmar is close to a return to the court and will see plenty of minutes with both Nash and Steve Blake out, making him the pickup for owners looking to squeeze some value out of this situation.

Thu Dec 19 201316:05Steve Nash (nerves) out four more weeks
Steve Nash (nerve-root irritation) will miss at least another four weeks.
The Lakers made the announcement at the same time that Kobe Bryant's knee fracture was revealed, providing a double-whammy for the Lakers' fading playoff hopes. Nash simply hasn't been able to overcome back and hamstring pain stemming from his nerve issues, and it's safe to question whether he'll suit up at all if L.A. has no chance of making the postseason. Jordan Farmar (hamstring) will have a big role whenever he returns to the court, but in the meantime it seems Xavier Henry will fill in as a makeshift PG.

Thu Dec 12 201316:05Steve Nash (nerves) heading back to Vancouver
Steve Nash is returning to Vancouver to rehab the nerve-root irritation which has caused his chronic back and hamstring pain.
He will not travel with L.A. on their upcoming four-game road trip and remains out indefinitely. A speedy return would be ideal now that Steve Blake (elbow) has been ruled out for at least six weeks, but it would be unwise to gamble on Nash's return date in fantasy leagues.

Mon Dec 9 201313:59Steve Nash (nerves) unsure of return date
Steve Nash (nerves) isn't sure when he might return to the Lakers' lineup.
"I had three good days of practice and I could play right now, but we don't really have any confidence that it's sustainable," said Nash. "Instead of playing, missing a few weeks, playing, missing a few weeks." It's "safe to say" that he won't return vs. the Thunder on Friday, according to Nash, and owners should be able to keep Steve Blake plugged into their lineups a while longer.

Sat Dec 7 201315:46Nash (back) practices but doubtful for Sunday
Steve Nash (back, hamstring) practiced on Saturday but he remains doubtful to play Sunday vs. the Raptors.
The Lakers could certainly use Nash in the lineup now that Jordan Farmar (hamstring) is on the shelf. Steve Blake will remain the team's default starting PG and may keep the job even when Nash returns, which could be as early as next Thursday's game at Portland.

Fri Dec 6 201315:09Steve Nash still doubtful for Sunday
Steve Nash (back, hamstring) is doubtful to play against the Raptors on Sunday.
He won't play against the Kings on Friday and it would be a surprise to see him back on the court for Sunday. Nash has been practicing a little, but there have not been any reports of him being a full participant yet. While he has been one of the better point guards in the NBA over the past decade, his age caught up with him this year and he's not worth owning in almost any league. Steve Blake will get all the minutes he can handle with Jordan Farmar (hamstring) out for a month.

Tue Dec 3 201316:01Steve Nash practices 10 minutes on Tuesday
Steve Nash (back, hamstring) practiced for 10 minutes on Tuesday but said that it's "very unlikely" he'll return to action vs. the Kings on Friday.
He'll try to practice 15 minutes on Wednesday and will gauge his activity based upon how his body responds. This is a positive step for Nash and the Lakers, but it won't have fantasy owners clamoring to claim him off the waiver wire. Mike D'Antoni has suggested that Nash could come off the bench once he's healthy, and Steve Blake's starting PG job is safe for now.

Sun Dec 1 201319:59Steve Nash (back) intends to practice Tuesday
Steve Nash (back, hamstring) intends to practice on Tuesday, according to Mike D'Antoni.
The Lakers don't play until Friday, giving Nash an ideal window to test how his back and hamstring respond to on-court activity. He reportedly feels better after rehabbing in Vancouver, but he may play a reserve role if and when he returns to action. Fantasy owners should avoid him until we've seen him on the court.

Sat Nov 30 201317:21Steve Nash (back) may practice this week
The Lakers hope that Steve Nash (back) will practice sometime this week.
It's not certain that Nash will join his teammates, let alone go through a full practice. This is an ideal time for him to test himself, however, since L.A. has four straight days off from Monday through Thursday. Considering Nash's laundry list of nerve-related ailments, we're not getting our hopes up.
