Fri Jan 21 201123:39Marquis Daniels plays well in return
Marquis Daniels returned from an ankle injury on Friday and had eight points, four boards, six assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in 26 minutes.
This was a nice line for Daniels and owners in deep leagues should put him on the radar screen going forward.
Fri Jan 21 201118:13Marquis Daniels (ankle) hopes to play Fri.
Marquis Daniels (ankle) will "try to go" for Friday's game vs. Utah.
Daniels is a versatile weapon for the Celtics' backcourt but (due to low playing time) his value doesn't translate in fantasy leagues.
Thu Jan 20 201114:57Daniels misses practice Thursday
Marquis Daniels (ankle) missed practice Thursday.
Consider Daniels questionable for Friday's game against the Jazz. If he can't go, Von Wafer will pick up some extra minutes off the bench.

Wed Jan 19 201120:22Marquis Daniels leaves with ankle sprain
Marquis Daniels left Wednesday's game with a sprained ankle but is expected to return.
He went to the locker room, probably to get re-taped, and should be back.
Mon Jan 17 201123:39Daniels (back) returns to action on Monday
Marquis Daniels (back) returned to action on Monday, scoring six points on 3-of-5 shooting with one rebound and one assist in 18 minutes off the bench.
It would take an injury or two before he would have serious value in fantasy leagues, as he plays among one of the deepest teams in the NBA.
Sun Jan 16 201114:18Marquis Daniels tweaks back in practice
Marquis Daniels missed a portion of practice Sunday after being at the receiving end of a physical screen from Kendrick Perkins.
Daniels decided to sit after agitating his back. He only has borderline value in the deepest of leagues anyway.

Mon Jan 10 201122:29Daniels comes up big off the bench
Marquis Daniels came out of nowhere to score 19 points off the bench in Monday's loss, hitting 7-of-8 shots from the field to go with seven rebounds, one assist, and two steals in 24 minutes.
With too much competition for minutes off the Celtics' bench in the long-term, we're not too excited about this performance. However, should the Celtics suffer an injury or two, Daniels has proven that he can be productive. Regardless, he belongs on the wire in most formats.
Tue Jan 4 201100:48Daniels (flu) returns to action on Monday
Marquis Daniels (flu) returned to action on Monday, scoring four points on 1-of-2 shooting with one rebound and no other statistics in 14 minutes.
Without an injury to Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, or Paul Pierce, and more accurately, an injury to two of them -- he will not get enough minutes to matter in most leagues. Because of his versatility, however, he will be worth a look in the event that happens.
Sun Jan 2 201122:31Marquis Daniels limited by upset stomach
Marquis Daniels was limited on Sunday due to an upset stomach.
Von Wafer picked up extra minutes, but Daniels is hopeful that he'll feel better for Monday's game. Either way, his fantasy value is shot with Rondo back in the lineup.

Fri Dec 31 201018:07Marquis solid for Cs in loss to Hornets
Marquis Daniels provided one of the few bright spots for Boston on Friday, scoring 10 points with three rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks in 25 minutes.
Daniels is healthy and getting minutes, though his role will be pinched once Rajon Rondo returns to action. Boston finished this game with more turnovers (17) than assists (16).
Tue Dec 28 201022:52Daniels posts suprising line off the bench
Marquis Daniels showed up in the box score on Tuesday night, scoring 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting with five rebounds, four assists, one steal, and two blocks in 31 minutes.
This is a reminder that he can fill up a box score when given the playing time, but that's exactly the problem with Daniels' fantasy situation. He's not likely to play more than 20 minutes per game when the Celtics are at full strength.
Thu Dec 9 201011:07Daniels won't miss time with thumb issue
Marquis Daniels had to leave Wednesday's win over the Nuggets Wednesday night due to thumb injury, but was later able to return.
Daniels doesn't want anything to do with thumb issues after missing almost 31 games due to thumb surgery last year. This time, it was just a scare.

Wed Dec 1 201000:39Daniels scores 16 points off the bench
Marquis Daniels scored 16 points off the bench on Tuesday, hitting 7-of-10 shots from the field to go with four rebounds, no assists, two steals, and one block.
He hadn't scored more than seven points since Nov. 5, so no, we're not running to the wire to pick him up. Even with Delonte West out, he needs an injury before he'll matter.
Wed Nov 17 201023:30Daniels plays for Celtics
Marquis Daniels returned from a personal leave and had four points in 16 minutes on Wednesday.
He has no fantasy value, especially with the return of Delonte West from suspension.
Wed Nov 17 201012:02Daniels likely out tonight
Marquis Daniels (personal) is likely out for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.
Daniels is averaging 17 minutes a night off the bench this season. That time may be soaked up by Delonte West, who is set to come off suspension tonight.

Tue Nov 16 201015:06Celtics may not have Marquis Daniels on Wed.
The Celtics still aren't sure if Marquis Daniels (personal) will be ready to play on Wednesday.
Daniels is attending to a 'family issue' -- if he doesn't return in time, Paul Pierce will likely be forced to log heavier-than-usual playing time. The Celtics may also activate rookie Avery Bradley (ankle), though he isn't completely up to speed.

Mon Nov 15 201013:56Marquis Daniels may miss Wednesday game
Marquis Daniels missed Monday's practice due to a family issue and he might miss Wednesday's game.
Daniels is playing a solid 15-20 minutes per game but has scored double-digit points just once all season. And with Delonte West returning his minutes are bound to dip even further.

Wed Oct 27 201002:25Daniels scores eight in Celtics win
Marquis Daniels returned from a shoulder injury on Tuesday, hitting 4-of-5 shots for eight points and two rebounds.
He could have some value in deep leagues once he's fully healthy, so just keep an eye on him.
Tue Oct 19 201007:51Daniels (shoulder) limited in practice Monday
Marquis Daniels (shoulder) was limited in Monday's practice.
He appears to be questionable for Wednesday's game at this point, but nothing about the injury has us overly concerned. When healthy, he is poised to take the Sixth Man role for the Celtics this year, giving him some value in deeper leagues.

Sat Oct 16 201019:21Daniels out for Sat's game due to shoulder
Marquis Daniels will not play Saturday due to a sore shoulder.
He joked before the game that he pitched a no-hitter the night before, and Doc Rivers does not believe the injury is serious. Daniels has looked good in the preseason and as sixth man he should have some value in deeper leagues.
