Tue Jul 27 2010 | 09:09 | Hawks add big man Josh Powell |
Hawks signed free agent PF Josh Powell, formerly of the Lakers, to an undisclosed contract. |
Powell goes 6'9/240 and will give the Hawks' bench some much-needed girth up front. The journeyman who has played in Europe and five previous NBA teams is an Atlanta native. He won't hold fantasy value in any format. |

Lakers free agent big man Josh Powell is reportedly close to signing with the Hawks. |

Sat Jun 12 2010 | 22:39 | Josh Powell could step up if Bynum goes down |
Lakers big man Josh Powell could be thrust into action if Andrew Bynum is limited by his knee injury on Sunday. |
"D.J. [Mbenga] has lost a little bit in the process of not playing," said Phil Jackson. "But Josh Powell is ready to play." Kobe Bryant is also "very confident" in Powell -- he's only averaged three minutes per game in the playoffs, but has enough size and energy to disrupt the Celtics frontcourt. |
