Shannon Brown is close to signing with an unknown team, according to Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times.

Mon Jul 16 201208:58Suns interested in retaining Shannon Brown
The Suns are "still pursuing" unrestricted free agent Shannon Brown, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
Brown said back in April that he wanted to remain with the Suns on a multi-year deal, but it's not known if Phoenix is willing to give the athletic swingman a contract that spans more than just a single season. Phoenix continues to be linked to both O.J. Mayo and Courtney Lee, but both players are known to be seeking major pay days.

Thu Apr 26 201216:50Shannon Brown wants a multi-year deal
Impending unrestricted free agent Shannon Brown said he would like to stay in Phoenix on a multi-year deal.
The Suns' offseason will be based around the decision of fellow impending free agent Steve Nash. But either way, Brown has done enough to earn a multi-year deal. The wildly athletic swingman is entering his prime at age 26 and has averaged 15.8 points per game as a starter this season. His 3-point shooting ability makes him someone fantasy owners should be watching in free agency.

Sat Apr 21 201220:02Shannon Brown hits six 3s in loss to Denver
Shannon Brown scored a team-high 28 points on Saturday, making six 3-pointers, but he shot just 10-of-24 overall as the Suns lost a critical game at home to the Nuggets.
Brown added six rebounds, three steals and two blocks, but the Suns collapsed defensively and may have put themselves at the mercy of the Jazz. Keep in mind that Brown scored single-digit points in three of the previous four games, and Grant Hill (knee) could return on Tuesday.

Fri Apr 20 201202:39Brown scores eight points with four steals
Shannon Brown started for injured Grant Hill (knee) and scored eight points on 4-of-12 shooting (no threes) with two rebounds, two assists, and four steals in 31 minutes on Thursday against the Clippers.
Brown's night gets saved by the four steals, but he has stopped being productive on the whole with Hill out of action. He'll be a risky play going forward if Hill continues to miss time.

Tue Apr 17 201205:13Brown scores 16 points with Grant Hill out
Shannon Brown scored 16 points with Grant Hill (knee) out on Monday, hitting 7-of-10 shots (including two threes) with four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 30 minutes.
Brown has consistently produced with Hill out of the lineup for the most part, and he has consistently fumbled when Hill has returned. Plan accordingly.

Sun Apr 15 201200:07Shannon Brown plays just 17 minutes
Shannon Brown started, but played just 17 minutes and scored six points in Saturday's loss to the Spurs.
The Suns were down 35-13 after the first quarter and Alvin Gentry cleared his bench, appearing to give up and rest his guys, despite the Suns being just 1.5 games back of Denver and Houston for the final playoff spot in the West. With Grant Hill back (and rested tonight), Brown doesn't look like a great option for the upcoming week.

Sat Apr 14 201201:39Brown fading with Grant Hill back on Friday
Shannon Brown scored 10 points on 3-of-9 shooting (no threes) with five rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes on Friday against the Rockets.
Grant Hill is back and it looks like the value crunch is on for Brown already. Owners may want to see what they can squeeze out of Brown for another game or so, but dropping him for a average-looking free agent pickup is probably the preferable play.

Thu Apr 12 201214:36Alvin Gentry may not start Hill right away
Coach Alvin Gentry said he hasn't decided if Grant Hill (knee) will immediately regain his starting job.
Hill is tentatively expected back on Friday, but Gentry may stick with Shannon Brown for now. The Suns have won five of their last seven games and they have a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday. Hill figures to be eased in, leaving Brown will some more fantasy value.

Wed Apr 11 201215:50Shannon Brown to start Wednesday vs. MEM
Shannon Brown will start Wednesday for the Suns against Memphis, but it may be his last before Grant Hill's expected return on Friday.
Brown has been playing very well lately, averaging 16.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.8 apg and 2.0 3PMg over his last five games. Head coach Alvin Gentry still has to determine how the minutes will be divided once Hill returns, and while nothing is set it stone, this could be the last game where Brown gets major run. Enjoy it while you can.

Shannon Brown scored 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting (including two threes) with seven rebounds, four assists, and a block in the Suns' blowout win over the Wolves on Monday.
Brown is rolling right along and should continue to post at least late-round value if he goes cold. Just plan on riding him until Grant Hill returns.

Sun Apr 8 201200:27Shannon Brown scores 24 points vs. Lakers
Shannon Brown got hot against his former team on Saturday, scoring 24 points with four 3-pointers, five rebounds and three assists in the Suns win vs. the Lakers.
Grant Hill's return is not imminent, which means Brown should continue to be a solid fantasy option next week. He did his damage in under 30 minutes tonight, as the Suns built a double-digit lead and coasted to the victory.

Sat Apr 7 201205:00Brown scores 18 points with three treys
Shannon Brown scored 18 points on 7-of-18 shooting (including three treys) with six rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 35 minutes on Friday.
Brown is turning the ball over a lot (2.8 per game over his last four contests), and unless you're punting that category he's probably not worth owning in 12-team formats and he's definitely not worth starting. Conversely, in 8-cat leagues he is worth starting consideration depending on your squad's needs.

Thu Apr 5 201201:21Shannon Brown scores 11 in Suns win
Shannon Brown hit just 4-of-14 shots for 11 points, four rebounds and four assists in another start at shooting guard on Wednesday.
He's averaging 16 points, four boards, two assists and 1.6 threes over his last five games, but has hit just 19-of-48 shots over his last four. He should break out of the shooting slump soon, so keep riding him as long as he's starting over Grant Hill, who is recovering from minor knee surgery.

Wed Apr 4 201200:48Shannon Brown struggles with shot in win
Shannon Brown started at shooting guard again, but hit just 5-of-14 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal in 32 minutes of Tuesday's win.
He's not shocking the world with his play, but has been effective. Unless there's a glaring hot free agent availalbe, Brown should continued to be owned in most fantasy leagues. Jared Dudley continues to start at SF and had 15 points, six boards, three assists and a 3-pointer tonight.

Fri Mar 30 201216:22Shannon Brown to get starts in place of Hill
Shannon Brown will continue to get starts for the Suns after Grant Hill (knee) underwent successful knee surgery on Friday.
Suns head coach Alvin Gentry said that "more than likely we'll start Shannon [Brown]" and mentioned additional minutes to come for Josh Childress and Ronnie Price. Brown will be the player to own for the next few weeks, Hill is expected to be out until the last few games of the season, at the earliest.

Thu Mar 29 201203:13Shannon Brown falls back to earth in loss
Shannon Brown made another start at shooting guard in place of Grant Hill (knee) on Wednesday, but hit just 4-of-9 shots for 10 points, five rebounds and two assists.
He blew up for a career-high 32 on Tuesday, but was more like Shannon Brown tonight. Hill's injury isn't serious, so Brown should soon go back to being a fantasy afterthought.

Wed Mar 28 201201:38Shannon Brown scores career-high 32 points
Shannon Brown was a surprise starter for Grant Hill (knee inflammation) on Tuesday and got hot early, finishing with a career-high 32 points on 11-of-18 shooting in a loss to the Spurs.
He also hit five 3-pointers, but Hill hopes to play on Wednesday when the Suns face the Clippers in L.A. Brown scored 16 in his previous game, and has hit double figures in three of his last four, but it appears unlikely that he is a real threat to Hill's job as long as Hill is healthy. Just keep an eye on him.

Sun Mar 25 201218:15Shannon Brown scores 16 points in victory
Shannon Brown scored 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting with three rebounds an assists as the Suns downed the Cavaliers on Sunday.
Brown received 23 minutes of playing time in this one, which is the most he has played since Mar. 15. While he will post a big line every now and them, he's just too inconsistent to rely on in most fantasy leagues.

Fri Mar 16 201202:02Shannon Brown scores season-high 21 points
Shannon Brown started for resting Grant Hill in the Suns' surprising win over the Clippers on Thursday, scoring a career-high 21 points on 5-of-12 shooting (3-of-5 from deep, 8-of-10 from the line) with three rebounds and a steal in 29 minutes.
Brown has done this much too little for us to bat an eye, and one has to wonder how the Suns' slow start might have stunted any chance for Brown to be productive this year in a new locale. Sebastian Telfair started for Steve Nash (rest), too, scoring seven points with eight assists, one steal, and one block. We're expecting both Nash and Hill to play on Friday, so neither spot-starter will be of worth a second act. Marcin Gortat struggled with eight points and six boards, Channing Frye hit four threes for 12 points with six boards and three blocks, and Jared Dudley cooled off with 11 points, six boards, and a three.
