Tue Mar 22 2011 | 10:26 | Price benched for missing shootaround |
A.J. Price was benched Monday night for missing the morning shootaround. |
Price had been logging around 15 minutes a night as Darren Collison's backup. "I brought it on myself," Price said. "Certain circumstances, New York City traffic. Not to make an excuse, but I just couldn't make it back in time." Coach Frank Vogel hinted that he wants Darren Collison to log heavy minutes going forward anyway. |

Tue Mar 15 2011 | 22:46 | A.J. Price a strict backup once again |
A.J. Price has returned to being a strict backup to Darren Collison at PG, as reflected by his four-point, two-assist performance over 15 minutes. |
When Collison struggles Frank Vogel isn't afraid to up his minutes, but any sign of a time-share has gone away, and Collison's 24-point, nine-assist outing slams the door on it. |

Wed Mar 9 2011 | 01:41 | Price cuts into Collison's minutes at PG |
A.J. Price played 20 minutes in Tuesday's uncontentious loss to the Sixers, and scored 12 points on 3-of-10 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds, two assists, and a steal. |
Starter Darren Collison played just 21 minutes, but we'd be more concerned about Collison's job (and Price's future) if this wasn't a team-wide epidemic of struggling. Either way, unless Collison were to get hurt, Price has no real chance of holding value at the PG position. |

Sun Feb 27 2011 | 14:54 | A.J. Price drills 4 3's, scores 18 off bench |
A.J. Price was deadly from downtown nailing four 3-pointers en route to scoring 18 points with five rebounds, an assist and a steal in Sunday's OT loss to Phoenix. |
Price played an instrumental role in mounting a second half comeback for the Pacers. Price has been seeing an increase in shot attempts and minutes recently as the Pacers have been looking for someone to fill the Mike Dunleavy void. Keep an eye on him. |
Sat Jan 29 2011 | 20:04 | Price to get more backup minutes at SG |
A.J. Price will get minutes at backup shooting guard in the wake of Brandon Rush's ankle injury. |
That's not saying much, but it's worth noting if you're keeping track of the bottom of Indy's rotation. Jim O'Brien could have opted to give those minutes to Dahntay Jones or Lance Stephenson, but in a rare moment of good sense he opted to keep the rotation tight. |

Tue Jan 25 2011 | 12:50 | Price replaces Ford as backup PG |
A.J. Price has replaced T.J. Ford as the Pacers' backup point guard. |
According to coach Jim O'Brien, the move has more to do with the Pacers developing their young players than Ford's level of play. Now Ford becomes a prime trade candidate as we head to the deadline. He admitted that his he has reached the end of the line in Indy. |

Wed Nov 17 2010 | 00:08 | Price makes debut on Tuesday |
A.J. Price made his season-debut on Tuesday, scoring seven points on 2-of-3 shooting with no rebounds and two assists in 11 minutes. |
Until he crawls out of the No. 3 PG slot in Indy, he will have no value in fantasy leagues. |
Wed Oct 27 2010 | 14:43 | A.J. Price inactive for Pacers opener |
A.J. Price, Dahntay Jones and Lance Stephenson will be inactive for Indiana's opener against the Spurs. |
Jim O'Brien had high praise for Price earlier in the preseason, but he's a long way from having fantasy value right now. Price, Jones and Stephenson belong on waivers in most formats. |

Mon Oct 11 2010 | 16:32 | A.J. Price having great camp for Pacers |
Pacers coach Jim O'Brien said point guard A.J. Price has been the Pacers' best player best player in their three preseason games. |
He's clearly recovered from a broken knee cap, but the arrival of Darren Collison puts a damper on this good news. Unless Collison goes down, it's hard to see Price doing much this year. |

Sat Oct 2 2010 | 11:57 | Pacers guard A.J. Price defies expectations |
Pacers guard A.J. Price (knee) has taken part in almost every minute of training camp this week without restrictions. |
"I was borderline shocked when I found he'd be able to practice," O'Brien said, on account of Price's original six-month timetable. "I think that's a credit to our medical staff and to A.J.'s dedication to rehabbing. I'm absolutely blown away." Indiana has four PGs at training camp and Price doesn't have a guaranteed contract, so he's not yet in the clear. |

Thu Sep 23 2010 | 13:46 | Pacers' Price ready for training camp |
Point guard A.J. Price, recovering from knee surgery, should be ready for the start of training camp. |
It sounds like there are no limitations on what he can do, so he should be fully healthy and ready for the start of the season. He'll serve as Darren Collison's back up, along with T.J. Ford. |

Wed Sep 8 2010 | 11:27 | A.J. Price unlikely to be 100% this summer |
Pacers guard A.J. Price (fractured kneecap) has resumed basketball activities, but team president Larry Bird feels "It's going to be a challenge for him to be 100 percent for training camp." |
"He's looked pretty good, but he's not 100 percent," said Bird. "It's still good that he's able to go against some competition." The Pacers' backcourt is wide open and Price should be scrutinized by fantasy owners this preseason. |

Mon Jul 26 2010 | 10:33 | A.J. Price (knee) likely to return in October |
Pacers guard A.J. Price, who had surgery to repair a fractured kneecap in late May, is on the court shooting and should take part in training camp "at some point in October." |
This is great news for the Pacers, who need all the PG help they can get. With Price hurting and T.J. Ford on the trade block and/or in coach Jim O'Brien's doghouse, it seems Lance Stephenson could emerge with a big role as a rookie. |

Wed May 26 2010 | 13:49 | Pacers' Price undergoes surgery |
A.J. Price had surgery on Tuesday to mend a fractured patella. |
As reported previously, Price is expected to miss four-to-six months, which could hinder his chances of being ready for the season, and of making the Pacers' roster altogether. Price's contract is non-guaranteed for 2010-11. |

Mon May 24 2010 | 16:07 | A.J. Price (knee) out 4-to-6 months |
A.J. Price will miss four-to-six months after he has surgery for a fractured kneecap. |
This is a serious blow for Price, whose contract for next season isn't guaranteed. He was slated for more opportunities in Indiana, but now he'll just be fighting for a roster spot. |

Sun May 23 2010 | 11:18 | Pacers PG spot wide open heading into summer |
A.J. Price's future with the Pacers could be jeopardized by his recent left knee injury, which will require surgery and months of rest. |
Unfortunately for Price, his $762k contract is not guaranteed for next season. The Pacers are hoping to trade T.J. Ford (and his $8.5 million deal) and Earl Watson is an unrestricted FA, which leaves their PG spot wide open. |

Sat May 22 2010 | 22:52 | A.J. Price may have badly injured his knee |
Unverified reports suggest that Pacers guard A.J. Price badly injured his knee during a celebrity game in Long Island on Saturday. |
An ambulance was reportedly called to the scene and Price was taken away on a stretcher. Right now there is no word on the severity of the injury, but this doesn't sound good. He showed potential in his rookie season and the Pacers don't exactly have a backcourt teeming with talent, so hopefully he'll be ready for the 2010-11 season. |

Mon Apr 12 2010 | 22:14 | A.J. Price scores 19 pts off Pacers' bench |
Pacers guard A.J. Price scored 19 points off the bench on Monday, making 7-of-11 FGs, including 5-of-9 threes. |
Price has scored double-digit points in four out of six games this month, despite his minutes hovering around 20 per game. The rookie is shooting 41% from the field this season, and 34% from downtown, but deserves to be watched as the Pacers embark on what should be an eventful offseason. |
Sun Apr 4 2010 | 21:03 | Price scores 17 points off the bench |
A.J. Price scored 17 points off the bench on Sunday, hitting 6-of-11 shots from the field (including five threes) with one rebound, two assists, and one steal in 23 minutes. |
This game was a blowout, giving this more of a fluke quality than that of a breakout performance. That said, the Pacers could decide to give him some minutes to either develop or evaluate him, so owners should keep one eye on him during the last week of the season. |
