Mon Oct 28 201314:47Faverani looks like a Celtics starter
Center Vitor Faverani (back) is practicing with the first unit on Monday and it looks like he may have beaten out Kelly Olynyk for the starting center job.
He posted some ridiculous lines late in the preseason and might be able to help owners desperate for a center. If he's on waivers, give him a look.

Fri Oct 25 201318:37Vitor Faverani returns to practice Friday
Vitor Faverani (back) returned to practice following the negative results of an MRI.
The MRI means there's nothing seriously wrong with his back, but it doesn't mean he's healthy. Faverani was all the rage in Fantasy Land after his six-block Wednesday night and he's still on the radar as a late-round pick in standard leagues. He could wind up as Boston's starting center.

Thu Oct 24 201317:40Vitor Faverani will get an MRI on his back
Vitor Faverani will received an MRI on his ailing back.
The results of the MRI should be revealed tomorrow. It sounds like he shouldn't have played through the injury on Wednesday, but at least he showed the coaches what he's capable of doing thanks to a six-block night. It's only preseason, but Faverani has picked up some steam as a late-round pick in some formats.

Thu Oct 24 201313:40Vitor Faverani doesn't practice Thursday
Vitor Faverani (back) didn't practice on Thursday.
He had his preseason coming-out party last night with six blocks to go with his 15 points and seven boards. Faverani was stretching his back out during the game and he wasn't cleared to play until right before tip, so he clearly wasn't 100 percent. Considering his presence in the paint and the lack of clarity of Boston's rotation, Faverani is still worth a look as a late-round pick in some leagues.

Wed Oct 23 201323:50Vitor Faverani blocks six shots in win
Vitor Faverani, battling Kelly Olynyk for the starting center job in Boston, hit 6-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to 15 points, seven rebounds and a whopping six blocks in Wednesday's win over Brooklyn.
The Nets sat all their best players, but this was still an impressive performance. And there's a chance he won the starting center job because of it. Olynyk had nine points, six boards, a steal and a block, and regardless of who wins the job, Faverani at least deserves a look at the end of most drafts after a surprising preseason.

Wed Oct 23 201319:01Vitor Faverani cleared to play, will start
Vitor Faverani will start for the Celtics against the Nets on Wednesday.
He had a minor back issue and will get to suit up against a resting Nets team. The Celtic don't have much clear in their rotation and Faverani could end up starting for then. He'll start next to Avery Bradley, Jeff Green, Gerald Wallace and Kelly Olynyk.

Wed Oct 9 201323:16Vitor Faverini plays well in Celtics loss
Center Vitor Faverani came off the bench for 11 points, six rebounds, a 3-pointer and zero blocks on 5-of-9 shooting in 20 minutes on Wednesday.
The Celtics are trying to find their starting center and Faverani looked good in this one. Kelly Olynyk, Brandon Bass and possibly Kris Humphries are all in the mix for the job, which will make it tough for any of them to offer much fantasy value. But after this one, Faverani should at least be on the radar in deeper leagues.

Thu Oct 3 201321:23Vitor Faverani is Celtics 'truest center'
Brad Stevens said that rookie Vitor Faverani is the Celtics' "truest center and a guy that can shoot the basketball."
The Brazilian center is dealing with "bits of plantar fasciitis," according to Danny Ainge, but it isn't preventing him from full participation in training camp. The Celtics are likely to use small lineups often, and the 25-year-old is a bit of a question mark, but fantasy owners should keep an eye on him as the season progresses.

Tue Sep 24 201311:01Vitor Faverani dealing w/ plantar fasciitis
Celtics big man Vitor Faverani is dealing with "bits of plantar fasciitis," according to Danny Ainge.
Fellow rookie Kelly Olynyk is also recovering from a mild bout of plantar fasciitis. Fantasy owners know how troublesome the injury can be, lingering for weeks if not months, and Boston may opt to limit Faverani and Olynyk during training camp and the preseason. Faverani faces an uphill battle for minutes at PF and C, while Olynyk may eventually start at center on a team with no other true 7-footers.

Mon Aug 19 201310:33Victor Faverani still in running to start
Victor Faverani is also a candidate to start at center for the Celtics.
The consensus is that Kelly Olynyk is going to get the starting nod, but Kris Humphries is also a possibility and may get the start on opening night. None of these three players are true centers and they all really project more as power forwards, so coach Brad Stevens will have to get a bit creative in his offensive and defensive schemes. Olynyk offers the highest upside in fantasy because he shoots the three and had a nice summer league, so he should come off the board first in fantasy leagues.
