Tue Jan 18 201114:51Ben Wallace is listed as questionable vs. BOS
Ben Wallace is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Celtics with his lingering ankle injury.
His return will likely hurt Greg Monroe some, although we'd like to think Monroe has earned solid minutes over the rest of the season. As of Monday there was no timetable on his return, so Wallace must be feeling better.

Mon Jan 17 201122:21Wallace (ankle) no timetable for return
Coach John Kuester said Monday that there is no timetable for Ben Wallace (ankle) to return, and when asked why it is taking him so long to return Wallace replied, "I'm getting old."
"It's up to Ben," Kuester said about his return. "That's the biggest thing -- making sure that he's comfortable coming back. He's been such a big part of this season in regards to giving it everything he has. He's just got to make sure he feels 100 percent." It doesn't sound like they're in a hurry to bring him back, and with rookie Greg Monroe playing well they really have no reason to.

Mon Jan 17 201114:17Ben Wallace (ankle) won't play Monday
Ben Wallace (ankle) will not play on Monday, granting rookie Greg Monroe another start for the Pistons.
Wallace is day-to-day and coach John Kuester has said he'll start once he returns, but Detroit has every incentive to start giving their youngsters more burn as the season grinds on.
Sat Jan 15 201119:20Wallace (ankle) out Saturday vs. Kings
Ben Wallace (ankle) will not play on Saturday against the Kings.
Greg Monroe will get the start in his absence and is a pretty good fantasy play, depending on your options, of course.

Sat Jan 15 201118:37Ben Wallace (ankle) still out for DET
Ben Wallace (ankle) isn't expected to play on Saturday.
Big Ben will start when he's healthy, according to coach John Kuester, but until then it's time for the young players to shine -- Greg Monroe should continue his solid play in another start.
Wed Jan 12 201111:27Ben Wallace out Wednesday, Monroe to start?
Ben Wallace (ankle) said he will not play against the Grizzlies Wednesday.
Wallace's ankle sprain doesn't sound overly serious, but it's a huge opportunity for promising rookie Greg Monroe. The No. 7 overall pick is riding a steak of three straight double-doubles and is expected to start tonight. John Kuester's mindset never seems logical, but there's a chance Monroe could run with the starting gig if he performs well.

Mon Jan 10 201120:51Big Ben (ankle) leaves after two minutes
Ben Wallace left Monday's game with an ankle injury after just two minutes of action and will not return.
He appeared to have tweaked it on the tip-off and Greg Monroe will benefit from the extra playing time. Nothing about this injury sounds overly serious, but owners are going to scrutinize every Wallace injury until he finally gives way to Monroe.

Fri Dec 17 201023:29Ben Wallace returns, fails to score
Ben Wallace returned from an ankle injury but missed both of his shots and failed to score in a loss to the Clippers.
Yuck. And that basically sums up the performance of the Pistons this season, who appear to have quit on their coach.

Ben Wallace (ankle) is listed as probable for Friday's game against the Clippers.

Ben Wallace left Tuesday's game during the third quarter due to an ankle injury and did not return, finishing with two points on 1-of-4 shooting with five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks in 27 minutes.

Tue Dec 14 201021:37Big Ben limps off the court after fall
Ben Wallace limped off the court late in the third quarter of Tuesday's game, and is likely to return to the game.
Big Ben is a major injury risk at this stage of his career, and also favored to lose his starting job to Greg Monroe once the Pistons go young. Late reports have said the injury isn't serious, but Monroe has shown enough promise this year to be worth a look right now as a pickup.

Sun Dec 12 201010:48Ben Wallace returned to action on Saturday December 11
Ben Wallace returned to action on Saturday December 11.
Sun Dec 12 201000:50Big Ben scores career-high 23 pts, hits a 3PT
Ben Wallace (rest) returned to action on Saturday, and scored a career-high 23 points on 10-of-13 shooting (including a three) with 14 rebounds, four assists, and five steals against the Raptors.
Um, yeah. The three was at the end of the game at the buzzer and didn't matter, and the 39 minutes are abnormal for sure, but this game is mostly a condemnation of the Raptors' interior defense (hello Andrea). This will easily be his best line of the year, so don't take the bait.
Sat Dec 11 201018:32Ben Wallace back in action on Saturday
As expected, Ben Wallace will return to the Pistons starting lineup on Saturday.
Rookie center Greg Monroe will move back to the bench to accommodate the veteran, who sat out Detroit's last game simply to get some rest.
Fri Dec 10 201020:18Big Ben out (rest), Greg Monroe to start
Ben Wallace will be rested on Friday night since the Pistons are playing their fourth game in five days, and Greg Monroe will get the start in his place.
Monroe is a guy that is still unowned in plenty of leagues, but has a great shot at starting by the end of the year (or much sooner) and being a productive fantasy player. His numbers don't look great, but don't be surprised if he has a good night and gets picked up in a number of leagues. Regardless of what he does tonight, he's a good roster stash.

Sat Oct 30 201023:13Wallace grabs 13 boards in loss to Bulls
Ben Wallace had 13 rebounds with two steals and two blocks on Saturday, and also chipped in with four points on 2-of-4 shooting and two assists.
That's what you drafted him for in a nutshell. Greg Monroe looks brutal right now, so owners can safely project these types of numbers over the next month, barring injury.
Tue Oct 19 201022:24Ben Wallace still starting for Pistons
Ben Wallace had four points, 11 rebounds, one assist, four steals and a block in Tuesday's preseason win.
He's the starter in Detroit and while he won't score many points, might be worth a late-round pick for his steals, blocks and rebounds. Greg Monroe is going to push him, but the center job is Big Ben's for now.
Sat Sep 18 201017:01Pistons to invite one more big man to camp
The Pistons may soon invite another "young big man" to training camp, though they already have 15 players under contract.
"We're going to make a decision by the end of this week," said Joe Dumars. "By (Friday), actually." Even if this mystery big man makes the roster, it's very doubtful they'll carve out a productive niche in the rotation.

Wed Aug 4 201011:09Pistons officially re-sign Ben Wallace
The Pistons have re-signed big man Ben Wallace.
The ancient defensive specialist will toil in the middle for Detroit again this season, despite the need for the team to forget this year and prepare for the future. He won't score much, but could be useful to fantasy owners in need of boards, blocks and steals at the very end of drafts.

Sun Jul 11 201016:58Pistons sign Ben Wallace for two years
The Pistons and veteran free agent Ben Wallace have reportedly agreed to a two-year deal.
Big Ben showed last year that he still has some gas in the tank, thriving in diminished minutes as blue-collar defender and rebounder. He accepted slightly more than the veteran's minimum to stay in Detroit.
