Wed Jul 7 2010 | 16:48 | Big Ben expected to re-up with Detroit |
Ben Wallace is expected to re-sign with the Pistons. |
The 35-year-old had something of a bounce-back season during a lost year in Detroit, averaging 5.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocks. If healthy, he's capable of replicating those numbers next season, making him an asset in deeper fantasy leagues. |

Thu Jul 1 2010 | 22:51 | Dumars wants to re-sign Wallace, Bynum |
Before trying to trade Tayshaun Prince or Rip Hamilton, Joe Dumars would first like to re-sign Ben Wallace and Will Bynum. |
"Our first order of business is to retain our own free agents, Ben Wallace and Will Bynum," Dumars told The Associated Press. The Pistons have been quiet in free agency, but could be active traders, with last year's free agent signees Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva even potential trade candidates. |

Thu May 20 2010 | 07:55 | Ben Wallace pondering retirement, Pistons |
Ben Wallace, 36, isn't sure he wants to play another season, or stay with the Pistons. |
"When I am healthy, I can play this game at a high level night in and night out," he said. "But sometimes, those knick-knack injuries take so much out of you mentally." Wallace is also unsure about staying in Detroit if he does play. "I feel a part of the community of Detroit. This is always going to have a special place in my heart." Sounds almost like a 'goodbye speech' to us, but regardless of what happens, Wallace is probably not worth drafting in fantasy leagues this fall. |

Thu Apr 22 2010 | 07:53 | Ben Wallace likely to return to Pistons |
All signs are pointing to a return to the Pistons for Ben Wallace in the 2010-11 season. |
Wallace turns 36 in September and could retire, although it sounds like he intends to play another season. The lowly Pistons valued the veteran's leadership and defensive presence last year, and probably wouldn't have to offer him too much more than the $1.3 million he earned this season. But unless Detroit makes some big changes this summer, Wallace may not have much interest in playing for such a bad team. |

Thu Apr 15 2010 | 11:12 | Pistons hope to re-sign Big Ben, Will Bynum |
Pistons president Joe Dumars hopes to re-sign free agents Ben Wallace and Will Bynum this summer. |
Both players have earned Dumars' confidence -- Wallace proved he is still a fierce defender and rebounder, while Bynum provided a spark off the bench in addition to averaging 10 points and five assists in 20 starts. |

Sat Apr 10 2010 | 22:21 | Ben Wallace plays despite general soreness |
Ben Wallace fought through general soreness on Saturday, managing to score eight points and grab 10 rebounds in 25 minutes. |
Coach John Kuester wasn't even sure Big Ben would play until just before tip-off. He's an achy veteran at the tail end of a lost season, and we're not expecting fantasy-worthy production in Detroit's final few games. |
Wed Apr 7 2010 | 22:47 | Wallace plays Wednesday vs. Hawks |
Ben Wallace, who returned to action Tuesday after dealing with a knee injury, played on the tail end of Wednesday's back-to-back and finished with eight points, four rebounds, and three blocks in 20 minutes. |
He is much too risky for use in fantasy leagues right now, as his minutes are limited and he is a game-to-game DNP risk. |
Tue Apr 6 2010 | 22:12 | Ben Wallace impressive but could sit on Wed. |
Ben Wallace returned on Tuesday, starting at center and notching 18 points (8-of-10 shooting), six rebounds, three assists, three steals and zero turnovers. |
Big Ben's game was even more impressive since he logged just 25 minutes. Unfortuntely, the Pistons might continue to rest him in the second of back-to-back games, which seriously dents his appeal. There's a good chance that he'll sit out Wednesday's game vs. the Hawks. |
