Wed Jul 5 2023 | 00:28 | Jalen Williams Productive In Summer League Action |
Oklahoma City Thunder swingman Jalen Williams amassed 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field with four rebounds, two assists, one block, and three three-pointers in Monday's 95-85 Summer League win over the Utah Jazz. The 22-year-old has little to prove in terms of garnering a starting spot with the Thunder this fall, but it's certainly nice to see him stay sharp this summer. After a slow start last season, Williams took the starting role and ran with it. The versatile wing accumulated 15.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.1 threes and 1.7 steals over 32.3 minutes per game in his last 53 games of the 2022-2023 campaign. Williams figures to be a fixture in the middle rounds of upcoming rotisserie-league drafts. |

Tue Mar 7 2023 | 18:34 | Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams Ruled Out Wednesday |
Oklahoma City Thunder guards Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (rest) and Jalen Williams (wrist) will not travel with the team ahead of Wednesday's game versus the Phoenix Suns. The Thunder have already ruled out Williams for Tuesday's game, but both he and Gilgeous-Alexander are being ruled out ahead of their second game in the back-to-back set. It was reported Gilgeous-Alexander would be rested down the stretch, but there is no word of Williams' timeline with his wrist injury. Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe figure to see boosts in fantasy value heading into the back-to-back while Josh Giddey should also see a slight increase in usage. |

Fri Oct 21 2022 | 19:38 | Jalen Williams Undergoes Surgery For Orbital Bone Fracture |
Oklahoma City Thunder guard/forward Jalen Williams has undergone surgery to repair an orbital bone fracture and will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days. He was hit in the eye by Jaden McDaniels's elbow in Wednesday's 115-108 loss to Minnesota and had to leave the game. Williams managed to score five points in six minutes in his NBA debut before being forced to exit. This is a bad injury blow for the youngster who was set to play a significant role for the Thunder right off the bat, but hopefully he can make a quick return to action. Darius Bazley and Tre Mann, who combined for 19 points in Wednesday's loss, are set to benefit from Williams' absence and should get more playing time. |
