Mon Oct 4 202123:19Camilo Doval Wins Reliever Of Month For September
San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Camilo Doval was named the National League Reliever of the Month for September on Monday. The 24-year-old rookie posted a 0.00 ERA and 0.65 WHIP over 12 1/3 innings pitched, going 4-0 with two saves. Doval played a key role in helping the Giants push to win the division and should continue to be an important arm for them in the playoffs. His performance this season makes it clear that fantasy managers should keep an eye on him in dynasty and keeper leagues, as he has what it takes to be the Giants' closer in the future.

Wed Sep 29 202110:38Camilo Doval Earns First Career Save Tuesday
San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Camilo Doval picked up his first career save in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Diamondbacks. With Jake McGee (oblique) on the injured list, the closer role has typically been assigned to Tyler Rogers. However, Rogers came in to pitch the eighth inning and allowed two runs, leaving the Giants only up by two heading into the ninth. Doval then entered the game, got a first-out ground out, allowed a double, but then got the next two hitters out, including a strikeout to end the game. The 24-year-old rookie has shown good stuff this season, compiling a 3.38 ERA and 31.6% strikeout rate with five wins and five holds. His fastball velocity and slider movement make him a viable candidate to be an impact relief arm for the Giants, but he simply has too many established arms ahead of him at this point to see routine save opportunities.
