Wed Nov 10 201014:17Indians considering Nix at third base
According to Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com, the Indians are considering using Jayson Nix at third base next season.
Nix isn't a long-term option at the position, but he could be a temporary in-house stop-gap until top prospect Lonnie Chisenhall is ready for the big leagues. The big downside here is that he made 11 errors in 40 games at third base down the stretch, so the Tribe has sent him to winter ball in Puerto Rico in order to get more acclimated with the position. We're not crazy about Nix from a fantasy perspective, but his surprising pop and multi-position eligibility could be of use in AL-only leagues.

Fri Sep 24 201022:08Nix hits two homers in win
Jayson Nix hit two solo homers Friday night to lead the Indians past the Royals, 7-3.
Nix came into this one batting .159 in September with zero homers and two RBIs. Don't pick him up for the stretch run.

Fri Aug 27 201022:33Nix racks up four RBI in offensive explosion
Jayson Nix went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Friday's 15-4 win over the Royals.
Since becoming the Indians' everyday third baseman in late July, Nix has actually performed well. He's now hitting .318 with four homers and seven RBI in 20 August games, but AL-only owners should be trying to do better than this glorified utility man.
Tue Jul 6 201000:00Nix belts a pair of longballs for Tribe
Jayson Nix had a pair of home runs in the Indians' win over the Rangers Monday.
The second baseman had a solo shot in the fourth and capped off his night with a two-run jack in the seventh. It was the second career multi-homer game for Nix, who was just claimed off waivers from the White Sox on June 24. He's started nine of the last 10 games at second, and tonight's showing will certainly keep him in the lineup.
Thu Jun 24 201014:17Indians claim Jayson Nix off waivers
Indians claimed INF-OF Jayson Nix off waivers from the White Sox.
Nix was designated for assignment by the White Sox last week after batting just .163/.268/.245 with one home run and five RBI over his first 49 at-bats this season. The 27-year-old utility man has a .200/.291/.347 batting line over 360 major league at-bats. He shouldn't be a fantasy option.
Thu Jun 17 201022:07White Sox DFA infielder Jayson Nix
White Sox designated 3B Jayson Nix for assignment.
The Sox tried to give Nix a decent amount of playing time in the absence of Mark Teahen, but he's batted just .163/.268/.245 with one home run and five RBI in 49 at-bats. At the age of 27, he should find offers from other organizations, but he may never be a major league regular.
Sun May 30 201017:14Nix hits grand slam as White Sox beat Rays
Jayson Nix hit a grand slam off Rays starter James Shields in the sixth inning of an 8-5 White Sox win on Sunday.
Nix replaced Mark Teahen earlier in the game when Teahen suffered a finger injury. The grand slam followed Shields losing his command and allowing a walk, single, and hit batter. Nix then worked a 3-2 count off Shields before taking him deep down the left field line. The big hit may get Nix another start or two this week, but he's not a fantasy option.
