Fri May 14 2010 | 11:13 | McCourty rewarded for fine offseason |
Jason McCourty has been lining up as the Titans starting left cornerback as a reward for his fine offseason work. |
McCourty may beat his brother Devin (Pats 2010 first-rounder) into the starting lineup, but we wouldn't read too much into this. Defensive coordinator Chuck Cecil insists it's an "open competition ... no one is ahead of anybody." Ryan Mouton should make a strong push for the job by training camp. |

Thu Apr 29 2010 | 14:08 | McCourty lining up as starter for Titans |
Jason McCourty lined up opposite Cortland Finnegan at Titans practice Thursday. |
McCourty is competing with the more talented Mouton, so we'd expect Mouton to rotate in the next practice. Veterans Ty Hill and Rod Rood are around for insurance, but the Titans would prefer to have one of the second-year players win the job. |
