Brian Tallet has retired from baseball. |
The story was reported by Burt Wilson of Lancaster Newspapers and confirmed by MLB Trade Rumors. Tallet, who was pitching for the Lancaster Barnstormers of the independent Atlantic League, will pursue a career in coaching. He finishes his career with a 4.79 ERA in 242 appearances (36 starts) over parts of nine seasons between the Blue Jays, Indians, and Cardinals. |

Cardinals doctors found cysts along Tallet's kidney this weekend while running a CT scan on his strained intercostal muscle. "Some cases are worse than others," the left-hander said Sunday. "Right now, my case is that all of my levels are normal and everything is fine with them, but I've got cysts in the kidneys. Now, it's just a matter of maintaining the levels that I'm at by drinking more water." He's unlikely to return before the end of July. |
