Sat Oct 12 2013 | 12:11 | Report: Antonio Cromartie expected to play |
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Antonio Cromartie (knee) is expected to play Sunday against the Steelers. |
Cromartie hyperextended his knee in practice this week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. He's had an up-and-down first month-plus of the season and is entering Week 6 at less than 100 percent. Start Antonio Brown confidently as a WR2. Brown is currently Rotoworld's No. 14 receiver for Week 6. |

Fri Oct 11 2013 | 13:54 | Antonio Cromartie to be game-time decision |
Jets coach Rex Ryan is calling Antonio Cromartie (questionable, knee) a "game-time decision" for Week 6 against Pittsburgh. |
Cromartie suffered a non-contact knee hyperextension in practice this week. Even if he does play against the Steelers, Cromartie is unlikely to be 100 percent. Antonio Brown is a solid WR2 in fantasy with an improved Week 6 matchup. |

Fri Oct 11 2013 | 00:38 | Report: Cro escapes with hyperextended knee |
Updating an earlier item, Jets CB Antonio Cromartie has been diagnosed with just a hyperextended knee, though his status for Week 6 is "uncertain." |
It's a major bullet dodged for Gang Green, but their No. 1 cornerback is still likely less than 50-50 to suit up against the Steelers. His status will be updated on Friday. |

Wed Aug 7 2013 | 11:45 | Cromartie in line for extension after 2013? |
The New York Daily News believes the Jets will work to extend Antonio Cromartie's contract following the season. |
Cromartie, 29, is entering the third year of a four-year, $32 million deal, but he has a team-high $14.98 million cap number in 2014 after restructuring his deal this past offseason. If he plays as well as he did last season as the No. 1 corner again in 2013, Cromartie could be in line for a monster pay day. Cromartie graded out as a top-five cover corner in Pro Football Focus' ratings last year. |

Wed May 15 2013 | 13:17 | Jets DC: Cromartie will shadow No. 1 WRs |
Jets DC Dennis Thurman says Antonio Cromartie will shadow No. 1 receivers this season. |
It's Darrelle Revis' old role, and one Cromartie filled ably last season after Revis tore his ACL. It allows No. 9 pick Dee Milliner to develop in less high-pressure situations. Going into his age-29 season, Cromartie is coming off what was arguably his best NFL campaign. The pieces are in place for the Jets to field another competitive defense, but the offense figures to make 2013 a long season. |

Tue Mar 12 2013 | 23:34 | Antonio Cromartie creates cap room |
Antonio Cromartie converted $6.16 million of his $7 million base salary into a signing bonus to clear salary cap room. |
His future cap numbers will be bigger, but the move gives the Jets more 2013 flexibility, even if they keep swinging and whiffing on their free-agent targets. Cromartie is coming off his best NFL season in pass coverage. Rex Ryan will put him back in the "Island" role in 2013 after Darrelle Revis is traded. |

Sun Jan 27 2013 | 09:29 | Jets could look to trade Cromartie, not Revis |
ESPN New York reports there is a "small segment" of the Jets' organization that would prefer to trade Antonio Cromartie over Darrelle Revis. |
Cromartie is coming off the best season of his career where he was asked to cover the offense's No. 1 receiver in Revis' absence. He also has two years left on his deal, and his trade value has never been higher. Due $9.5 million in total next year, the Jets would only take a cap hit of $2.5 million by trading Cromartie, instead of the $12 million hit they would endure for trading Revis. Cromartie is due a $2.3 million roster bonus on March 14, so a deal would have to be struck before then. It is believed that Rex Ryan is of the contingent that supports this idea. |

Sun Dec 9 2012 | 15:48 | Cromartie leaves game with head injury |
Jets CB Antonio Cromartie left Sunday's Week 14 game against the Jaguars with a head injury. |
Cromartie was injured in the fourth quarter after taking a glancing shoulder hit from teammate Yeremiah Bell. It didn't appear to be serious as he jogged to the locker room. Cromartie actually started the game on offense, too, lining up as a receiver on the game's opening play. The Jets are down to Kyle Wilson, Ellis Lankster, and Darrin Walls at corner. |

Wed Nov 21 2012 | 09:48 | Antonio Cromartie drawing praise |
Coach Bill Belichick had high praise for Jets CB Antonio Cromartie Tuesday. |
Ever since Darrelle Revis went down in Week 3, Cromartie has been among the best corners in the league. Per ProFootballFocus.com, he's allowing opponents to complete just 46.2 percent of passes thrown at him. "He's a hard guy to throw over on the perimeter," Belichick said. "He runs fast, he makes up ground. There have been a number of plays where receivers get behind him, but he's able to run them down, still get his hands on the ball." Expect Cromartie to spend most of Thanksgiving night on Brandon Lloyd. When the Jets played the Patriots in Week 7, Lloyd had one catch for six yards. |

Mon Aug 13 2012 | 14:53 | Antonio Cromartie takes more snaps at wideout |
Jets CB Antonio Cromartie took part in individual receiver drills in Monday's practice. |
It was the first time he had done so in Jets camp. "I bugged Rex every opporintiy to put me on offense, so I finally get my chance," Cromartie said. "I got a couple plays last year, but this year, I'll actually get a chance to play a little more receiver." New York's "Cro Package" is a very real thing, but it's extremely doubtful it ever progresses beyond the "occasional gimmick" stage. |

Sat Jul 28 2012 | 16:35 | Antonio Cromartie confirms 'Cro Package' |
Antonio Cromartie confirmed the Jets are "trying to make up a `Cro Package'" on offense. |
"I believe I can do it," Cromartie said. "You got to pick your spots. You got to figure out what routes I can run, what routes I can't run. That's what we're going to do." Cromartie also insisted the package won't "take away" from what he does on defense. "Because I already know everything on the defensive side." The Jets are poised to lead the league in gimmicks this season. |

Fri Jul 27 2012 | 12:36 | Antonio Cromartie may play some wide receiver |
Jets coach Rex Ryan hinted on the first day of training camp that RCB Antonio Cromartie may see snaps at wide receiver this season. |
Ryan says the Jets have been discussing the idea internally, and indicated that Cromartie will get camp reps on offense. Cromartie is 6-foot-2, 210 and can run, and he's got pretty good hands. If the Jets had a quarterback capable of getting him the ball, Cromartie could add a dangerous element as a "package" wideout. |

Sun Mar 18 2012 | 19:55 | Jets may switch Cromartie from CB to safety |
Jets CB Antonio Cromartie hinted on Twitter Sunday evening that he may move to free safety in 2012. |
Cromartie hinted that the coaches have already approached him about the move, and he says he wouldn't mind. Cromartie also pointed out that Kyle Wilson is emerging as a starting-caliber cornerback. We still think this might be a last-ditch option for the Jets. Cromartie is a top-20 NFL corner, and moving him to a less valuable position wouldn't be maximizing Cromartie's gifts. Wilson is a slot corner, anyway. Cromartie covers X receivers at right corner. |

Sat Oct 22 2011 | 11:26 | Cromartie draws the ire of Jets coaches |
The New York Daily News reports Jets CB Antonio Cromartie's "maddening inconsistency" has led to "closed-door conversations" with coach Rex Ryan and DC Mike Pettine. |
The Jets are baffled by Cromartie's "unwillingness to engage wideouts with his hands at the line of scrimmage." His three interceptions are tied with Darrelle Revis for the team lead, but he's also averaging nearly a penalty per game, and was burned badly by Brandon Marshall on a 46-yard reception in Week 6. He should be tested early and often by Philip Rivers in Week 7. |

Tue Oct 18 2011 | 09:14 | Antonio Cromartie should be fine |
Jets CB Antonio Cromartie left Monday's win over the Dolphins with a groin tweak but is expected to be fine for Week 7. |
Cromartie likely would have finished last night's game out if the score was closer. He'll be ready to go against his former team, the Chargers, Sunday. |

Sat Oct 1 2011 | 09:22 | Cromartie says he's 100 percent |
Antonio Cromartie (bruised lungs) says he feels "100 percent" heading into Sunday's game against the Ravens. |
"I got a little soreness here and there, but that's about it." he said. Cromartie is expected to wear a vest beneath his pads similar to the one worn by Tony Romo against the Redskins last Monday to protect his bruised ribs and lung. |

Thu Sep 29 2011 | 12:36 | Cromartie expected to play Sunday |
Antonio Cromartie (bruised lungs) will play against the Ravens Sunday barring a setback, according to beat writer Manish Mehta. |
Cromartie was able to do sprints in Wednesday's practice without a problem. He'll be doing that plenty on Sunday night as the Ravens try to get Torrey Smith the ball over the top once again. Cromartie's availability makes Smith an even weaker fantasy option than he already was. |

Thu Sep 29 2011 | 09:27 | Cromartie closer than Mangold |
Coach Rex Ryan said that CB Antonio Cromartie (rib/lung) is closer to playing this week than C Nick Mangold (ankle). |
Both players are considered day to day and merely stretched out during Wednesday's practice. If Cromartie can't go, Kyle Wilson will get the start and likely match up with Torrey Smith. Darrelle Revis is expected to run with Anquan Boldin. |
