Tue Sep 25 201210:34Surgery not an option for Halladay's shoulder
Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro, Jr. said Monday that he doesn't see surgery as an option for Roy Halladay (shoulder) this offseason.
"Nope, not right now," said Amaro. "We don't have any structural damage; there is no surgery that can help him. It's just tightness in his upper shoulder and shoulder blade, nothing like symptoms when he was [placed on the DL]. Right now, we don't see any issue, as far as any procedure is necessary." Halladay was knocked around for seven runs in just 1 2/3 innings Saturday against the Braves, but is still expected to finish the season in the rotation. The 35-year-old right-hander is owed $20 million next season while his contract includes a $20 million option for 2014.

Halladay saw a doctor on Friday after experiencing mild muscle spasms in his right shoulder, then got rocked for seven run in just 1 2/3 innings Saturday against the Braves. "It's taken a little bit of a toll on him," Amaro told reporters. "We'll talk to the doctors today or tomorrow to see if we're risking any injury."

Sat Sep 22 201219:51Halladay dealing with minor shoulder spasms
Roy Halladay saw a doctor on Friday after experiencing mild spasms in his right shoulder.
Halladay did not have an MRI on his shoulder and fully believes that he'll be able to finish the season. It's clear from Saturday's disaster against the Braves, though, that he isn't close to being right. The 77-75 Phillies might be wise to simply shut him down.

Sat Sep 22 201219:25Halladay hammered in loss to Braves
Roy Halladay was hammered in Saturday's loss to the Braves, allowing seven runs on five hits and three walks in just 1 2/3 innings of work.
Halladay struck out three in the extremely short outing. Freddie Freeman got the scoring started with a three-run bomb in the first inning, and Jason Heyward smacked a three-run double in the second frame to provide the majority of the damage. He has uncharacteristically struggled this season, compiling a pedestrian 10-8 record, 4.40 ERA and 125/33 K/BB ratio in 151 1/3 innings. He'll attempt to get back on track when he takes on the Marlins in Miami on Friday.

Roy Halladay was not sharp mediocre in Tuesday's victory over the Marlins, allowing five runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings.
Halladay racked up six strikeouts but walked three. Luckily for him, the Phillies offense provided plenty of support in the game and he was able to escape with the victory. He'll take a 10-7 record, 4.01 ERA and 115/28 K/BB ratio into Sunday's start against the Astros in Houston.

Mon Aug 20 201222:22Halladay struggles but still wins
Roy Halladay wasn't at his best Monday but evened his record at 7-7 anyway, allowing five runs on 10 hits and a walk over seven innings in a 12-5 victory over the Reds.
He struck out three batters and also allowed a trio of doubles. It's Halladay's worst effort in his last five outings, but, luckily for him, Mike Leake was much worse. Doc will take a 3.95 ERA and 1.08 WHIP into this weekend's start against the Nationals.

Roy Halladay allowed three runs over seven innings and struck out seven in a loss to the Marlins on Wednesday.
The Marlins offense was up to 30 straight scoreless innings before finally breaking through in the fourth inning against Halladay today. Sun Jul 29 201216:44Roy Halladay shaky in quality start
Roy Halladay allowed three runs on six hits in six innings of Sunday's loss to the Braves.
He struck out seven and walked one. Halladay settled down after a rough start (three runs in his first three innings), but was still having trouble with his usually pinpoint location. His velocity remained down, as well. It's becoming increasingly less clear if we'll see the "real" Doc down the stretch. Through 89 1/3 innings, Halladay is now the owner of a 4.43 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 72/16 K/BB ratio. He'll get the Diamondbacks at home next weekend.

Wed Jul 18 201201:26In return from DL, Doc allows 2 runs to LAD
In his return from the disabled list Tuesday, Roy Halladay kept the Phillies in the game against the Dodgers, allowing two runs over five innings.
Halladay left with a 2-1 deficit, but Philly hung two runs on the Dodgers in the eighth to win the game and leave Doc with a no-decision. Halladay struck out six and walked none in the outing. He was pulled after 80 pitches, a precaution after missing two months with a strained lat muscle. If owners hadn't already activated Halladay, they should do so immediately.

Tue Jul 17 201213:31Phillies activate Halladay from disabled list
Phillies activated RHP Roy Halladay from the 15-day disabled list.
Halladay will return to start Tuesday night against the Dodgers. The veteran right-hander has been sidelined since late May with a lat strain, but didn't have any issues during a rehab start last week. He's expected to be on a pitch count in his first start back, but he should be active in most fantasy leagues.

Sun Jul 15 201209:55Halladay cleared to rejoin rotation Tuesday
Roy Halladay (lat) has been cleared to rejoin the Phillies' rotation Tuesday against the Dodgers after throwing a successful 28-pitch bullpen session Saturday.
Halladay pitched just three innings during his lone rehab start, but he's feeling fine physically and is ready to return to the big club. Doc will be on a pitch count Tuesday, though pitching coach Rich Dubee declined to reveal what that limit would be. He might not regain his form right away, but it's hard not to recommend throwing Halladay back into your fantasy lineup immediately.

Sun Jul 8 201212:38Roy Halladay could make rehab start Thursday
Roy Halladay (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Clearwater Thursday if Tuesday's bullpen session goes well.
Hallday has thrown three bullpen sessions without any issues, so it's likely he'll be ready to roll on Thursday. It's not clear how many rehab appearances he'll need, but it will probably be at least a couple given that he's already missed six weeks of action. A late-July return seems likely.

Roy Halladay (lat) tossed a third bullpen session without issue on Saturday, and will throw a fourth on Monday in Clearwater.
If all goes well with Monday's session, the next step would be to go out on a rehab assignment. After a tune-up or two in the minor leagues, Halladay should return to the Phillies rotation shortly after the All-Star break.

Roy Halladay (lat) has had no soreness thus far while throwing from a mound and is aiming to return shortly after the All-Star break.
He had been looking at a late-July return, but perhaps closer to the middle of the month is possible. Halladay will need a rehab assignment first, which he should be able to begin before long. He's been out since late May with a strained right lat muscle.

Roy Halladay (lat) threw a bullpen session Friday for the first time since being placed on the disabled list.
Halladay threw 33 pitches in all and used his entire arsenal. Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee added that he's coming along very well. He still has some hurdles to cross in his rehab process, but there's a chance he could return in late July if all goes well.
