Sat Jul 21 201222:50Diamond struggles again in loss to Royals
Scott Diamond had a second straight rough outing in Saturday night's loss to the Royals, surrendering four runs on 10 hits over six innings of work.
Diamond struck out two and walked two. After compiling a 2.62 ERA over his first 12 starts, he's now given up nine runs on 19 hits in just 11 innings over his last two outings. Diamond will look to get back on track when he squares off against the Indians at home on Friday.

Mon Jul 16 201223:58Diamond wins despite so-so outing
Scott Diamond picked up his eighth victory Monday despite a less than stellar effort, allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk over six innings in a 19-7 win over the Orioles.
It's a season high in runs allowed for the left-hander, as he struck out just three and served up a three-run blast to Mark Reynolds. One of the biggest pitching surprises in the American League to this point, Diamond will bring a 2.96 ERA and 1.21 WHIP into this weekend's outing in Kansas City.

Thu Jul 5 201217:42Scott Diamond goes seven strong for Twins
Scott Diamond yielded two runs in seven innings Thursday in a no-decision versus the Tigers.
Diamond left with a 3-2 lead, but the Twins bullpen went on to give up five runs in the eighth. Diamond has now made 12 starts and still hasn't given up more than four earned runs in any of them. He's allowed two or fewer earned runs seven times. We don't recommend him in mixed leagues, but he's been a big-time asset thus far.

Sat Jun 30 201216:18Diamond goes eight innings in win over Royals
Scott Diamond limited the Royals to two runs over eight innings on Saturday as part of a 7-2 win in the first game of a doubleheader.
Diamond induced a lot of hard hit balls, but fortunately for him, most of them were hit right at people. He gave up six hits while striking out four, walking two and throwing three wild pitches. Both runs scored on ground outs by Yuniesky Betancourt. Diamond is now 7-3 with an unlikely 2.62 ERA across his first first 11 starts. Regression is likely on the way, but those in AL-only leagues should continue to ride the wave.

Scott Diamond held the Reds to three runs on eight hits in eight innings of Sunday's 4-3 win, striking out seven as he improved to 6-3.
He walked one and served up a two-run homer to Joey Votto. That's now seven quality starts in 10 outings for Diamond since joining the Twins rotation, and leaves him with a 2.67 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 37/9 K/BB ratio through 64 innings. He'll get the Royals at home next weekend.

Sat Jun 9 201217:16Diamond tosses six shutout innings in win
Scott Diamond tossed six shutout innings in Saturday's 11-3 win over the Cubs.
Diamond scattered seven hits (six of them singles) while striking out five and walking one. He threw 64 out of 89 pitches for strikes. The 25-year-old southpaw now has a surprising 1.61 ERA and 28/4 K/BB ratio in 44 2/3 innings over seven starts. We're skeptical he'll keep it up, so be careful before picking him up in mixed leagues, but his elite control gives him a chance to hold down a rotation spot for the rest of the year. He'll get the Brewers next weekend.

Scott Diamond held the Indians to three unearned runs in seven innings of Sunday's 6-3 victory.
Diamond struck out two, walked none and allowed seven hits in his fifth quality start in six outings since joining the Twins rotation. In the process, he's posted a 1.86 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 23/4 K/BB ratio across 38 2/3 innings. He'll regress, but should be able to hold his AL-only league value. He'll get the Cubs at home next weekend.

Scott Diamond allowed five runs (two earned) on nine hits in six innings of Wednesday's 6-0 loss to the White Sox.
He struck out four and walked one. Diamond wasn't overly sharp, but watched his teammates commit three errors and rope only four hits in what proved to be their 28th loss. Diamond is now the owner of a 1.78 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 17/3 K/BB ratio through his first four outings and 25 1/3 innings. He's firmly on the AL-only league radar. He'll get the A's at home on Monday.

Sun May 13 201217:39Scott Diamond throws seven more strong IPs
Scott Diamond turned in his second straight strong outing in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Blue Jays, allowing just five hits in seven scoreless innings of work.
Diamond fanned four in spinning seven shutout frames for the second consecutive start. Needless to say, Diamond has earned himself some rope in the Twins' awful rotation, but both his MLB and minor-league history suggest he won't keep up at anywhere near this rate. He'll get the Brewers in Milwaukee on Friday. Diamond remains best left on the wire in mixed leagues.

Sun May 6 201218:57Twins promote Diamond from AAA to rotation
Twins recalled LHP Scott Diamond from Triple-A Rochester.
He'll take Liam Hendriks' spot in the Twins' rotation and start Tuesday against the Angels. Diamond is having a nice year at Triple-A Rochester, boasting a 2.60 ERA and 26/7 K/BB ratio over 34 2/3 innings. The 25-year-old former Rule 5 pick possesses little upside, however, and can be ignored outside of the deepest AL-only formats. If he doesn't start quickly, Diamond could be sent back to Rochester in short order. He struggled in his audition with the Twins last season.

Sun May 6 201209:32Scott Diamond to replace Liam Hendriks
Scott Diamond is expected to be called up to take Liam Hendriks' spot in the Twins' rotation.
It's no surprise, as Hendriks has posted a 9.00 ERA and 1.89 WHIP over his four starts. Diamond has had a nice year at Triple-A Rochester, boasting a 2.60 ERA and 26/7 K/BB ratio over 34 2/3 innings. The 25-year-old possesses little upside, though, and can be ignored for fantasy purposes.

Sun Sep 11 201115:43Scott Diamond pitches well in loss
Scott Diamond pitched well in a loss Sunday, allowing just two runs -- one earned -- on seven hits and four walks over six innings in a defeat at the hands of the Tigers.
He didn't allow a singled extra-base hit, but Doug Fister was simply a little bit better. It's the third straight start where Diamond has allowed three runs or fewer, but we're still not high on him for fantasy purposes. He'll face the Indians next weekend.

Wed Aug 31 201117:59Scott Diamond earns first big-league victory
Scott Diamond picked up his first major league victory after allowing three runs and three hits in six innings Wednesday against the White Sox.
Diamond was given six runs to work with in the top of the first, but the lead almost didn't hold up in what ended up being a 7-6 game. Fortunately, Glen Perkins and Joe Nathan were able to work out of trouble after giving up runs in the eighth and ninth. Diamond is 1-2 with a 4.82 ERA in three starts for the Twins. He's not recommended in AL-only leagues.
