Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said Sunday that it's "very possible" both Kyle Drabek (elbow) and Drew Hutchison (elbow) return in September. |
Manager John Gibbons said less than a week ago that he didn't expect to see either pitcher this season, but Anthopoulos isn't ruling it out. Drabek holds a 2.55 ERA and 23/4 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 rehab innings as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery, while Hutchinson has a 3.00 mark and 15/7 K/BB ratio over 12 frames in his recovery from the same procedure. |

It was originally reported he was being placed on the DL with a ''UCL sprain.'' Initial tests revealed no loss of strength or stability, but Drabek is now facing the prospect of Tommy John surgery and missing more than a year of baseball. There will be more clarity on his status after he is re-evaluated by Dr. James Andrews this weekend. |

He'll get the Red Sox at home on Saturday. Keep him benched for that one. |
