Sun Sep 5 2021 | 00:34 | Ian Anderson Rocked On Saturday |
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Ian Anderson was not on his best game during Saturday's contest against the Colorado Rockies. He went three innings, five hits allowed, four earned runs, and four walks in the 7-6 loss. Anderson clearly struggled with his control and two home runs hurt him as well. Despite the rough outing, Anderson has been solid for the Braves this season. It's never easy pitching in Colorado, so fantasy managers should give him a pass here. |

Mon Aug 30 2021 | 00:36 | Ian Anderson Solid In Return Versus Giants |
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Ian Anderson (shoulder) didn't miss a beat versus the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. He made his return from the injured list and looked sharp in this one. He went five 2/3 innings, four hits allowed, zero earned runs, and two walks in the 9-0 win. The 23-year-old will take a 3.36 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 98 strikeouts over 101 2/3 innings into his next outing against the Colorado Rockies. It's never a fun time pitching in Colorado, but regardless Anderson needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats. |

Wed Aug 25 2021 | 23:33 | Ian Anderson Expected To Start On Sunday |
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Ian Anderson (shoulder) is expected to return and make the start against the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. He has been sidelined over a month while dealing with inflammation in his shoulder. Anderson pitched well during his final rehab assignment on Tuesday. Before his injury, Anderson was pitching excellent for the Braves, so the hope is that he'll continue to do that down the stretch. The Giants aren't exactly an ideal matchup for Anderson. Regardless, Anderson needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats because his upside outweighs one possible dud outing. |

Fri Aug 20 2021 | 19:44 | Ian Anderson To Make One More Rehab Start |
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Ian Anderson (shoulder) is set to make one more rehab start before returning to action, according to David O'Brien of The Athletic. Anderson has been out since the All-Star break due to shoulder inflammation, after going 5-5 with a 3.56 ERA, 1.250 WHIP and 24.3 percent strikeout rate across 96 innings pitched. Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos said that if things go well for Anderson in this next start, the team will plan to slot him back into their rotation soon after. Managers should keep an eye out for further updates, but be prepared for him to make his return sometime next week. |

Wed Aug 18 2021 | 11:34 | Ian Anderson Pitches Well In Rehab Outing |
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Ian Anderson (shoulder) looked sharp during his rehab outing with Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday. He went 4 1/3 innings, four hits allowed, zero earned runs, one walk, and four strikeouts. It was his third rehab outing, so it sounds like Anderson is on the verge of returning to the Braves rotation. The 23-year-old was a reliable option when healthy earlier in the season. Fantasy managers should check and see if Anderson is still sitting on the waiver wire. |

Wed Aug 4 2021 | 12:23 | Ian Anderson To Begin Rehab Assignment Thursday |
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Ian Anderson (shoulder) is set to begin a rehab assignment on Thursday. He was throwing off a mound last week and hasn't felt any discomfort since then. Anderson has been sidelined since July 13 due to a right shoulder issue. Before that, Anderson posted a 3.56 ERA and 98 strikeouts through 96 innings. The hope is that Anderson will return to the starting rotation around the middle of August. Fantasy managers should stash Anderson if he's available, but double check to make sure he's not still on the waiver wire. |

Sun Jul 11 2021 | 21:29 | Altuve's 3-run homer in 9th caps Astros' rally past Yankees |
HOUSTON (AP) — Jose Altuve hit a three-run homer to cap a startling six-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning, getting his jersey yanked off in a frenzied celebration and lifting the Houston Astros over the New York Yankees 8-7 on Sunday. The Astros had been shut out by the Yankees the previous two games, highlighted by ace Gerrit Cole’s three-hitter in a 4-0 win on Saturday night. The win came on Altuve replica jersey giveaway at Minute Maid Park — Houston fans left with a No. 27 shirt, while the All-Star second baseman exited without his. New York led 7-2 after a three-run homer by Gary Sanchez in the eighth inning. After the first two Astros reached base against Domingo Germán in the ninth, Chas McCormick hit a two-run double off Chad Green (3-5). Abraham Toro followed with an RBI double to make it 7-5, still with no outs. Pinch-hitter Jason Castro singled and one out later, Altuve launched his soaring shot to left field. Ralph Garza Jr. (1-2) pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings for... [ More] |
Sun Jul 11 2021 | 15:39 | Marlins' López sets MLB mark with 9 strikeouts to open game |
MIAMI (AP) — Miami Marlins right-hander Pablo López set a major league record by striking out the first nine batters to start Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Braves. López struck out Ehire Adrianza, Freddie Freeman and Ozzie Albies each swinging in the first inning. He then fanned Austin Riley, Orlando Arcia and Dansby Swanson also all swinging in the second inning. In the third, Guillermo Heredia looked at strike three, Kevan Smith went down swinging and Ian Anderson was called out on strikes. The 25-year-old righty broke the mark of eight straight strikeouts to begin a game set by Jim Deshaies in 1986 and matched by Jacob deGrom in 2014 and German Marquez in 2018. The second time around the batting order was not as kind to López. After getting Adrianza on a grounder to begin the fourth, Freeman broke up López’s sensational start with a double and Albies and Arcia added RBI singles. López began the day with 102 strikeouts over 95 innings in 18 starts this season. ___ More AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/MLB and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports |

A look at what's happening around the majors today: ___ ROCKY RETURN Nolan Arenado will return to Coors Field for the first time since the Colorado Rockies traded the disgruntled third baseman to St. Louis over the offseason. The eight-time Gold Glove winner hit .293 with 235 homers and an .887 OPS over nine seasons in Denver, but the fan favorite was traded two years into a $260 million, eight-year contract amid an at-times public rift with Colorado's front office.
