Looking ahead, he's expected to split time on the field with Courtney Upshaw as Upshaw slowly but surely takes over a more prominent role on Baltimore's defense.

"We've offered Elvis a contract," Elway said. "We'd like to have Elvis back. We'd like to get it done as soon as possible, but I'm sure Elvis wants to see what else is out there." Elway did add the team is "exploring other options." Dumervil may take a few more days to explore the market, but it's beginning to look like his best option would be reconciling with the team that cut him loose in a panic on Friday. The Ravens are his only other known suitor.
