Dumervil will likely play more snaps due to Terrell Suggs' season-ending Achilles injury, the Ravens' official website reports.
Dumervil mostly focused on rushing the passer in his first two seasons in Baltimore, splitting snaps with Courtney Upshaw at left outside linebacker. Both players now figure to start, with Dumervil likely spending most of his time on the weak side of the formation. He'll still probably be very dependent on sacks, but he's a better IDP option than Upshaw.

Dumervil (Achilles) is dealing with tendinitis which has limited his involvement throughout training camp, Jamison Hensley of ESPN reports.
Dumervil is coming into his seventh NFL season so he doesn't necessarily need a full training camp to be prepared for the upcoming year and is probably erring on the side of caution to prevent further injury in his Achilles. Looking ahead, he's expected to split time on the field with Courtney Upshaw as Upshaw slowly but surely takes over a more prominent role on Baltimore's defense.

Dumervil had three tackles (one solo) and 1.5 sacks in Sunday's 48-17 win over the Buccaneers.
Dumervil, though still a menacing pass rusher, has limited IDP value due to his modest weekly snap counts. As was the case last season, he's ceding most of the early-down snaps to Courtney Upshaw. Through six games, Dumervil has 11 tackles (six solo) and five sacks.
Fri Sep 12 201410:11Dumervil had two sacks in Thursday's 26-6 win over Steelers
Dumervil had two sacks in Thursday's 26-6 win over the Steelers.
Dumervil was otherwise quiet, as he didn't record any non-sack tackles while playing 47-of-60 defensive snaps. He's still splitting time with Courtney Upshaw, but the Steelers spent nearly the entire game in three-wide formations, tilting the snaps in Dumervil's favor.

Dumervil had three tackles and a sack in Saturday's preseason game against the Redskins.
While still a threat for double-digit sacks, Dumervil is expected to again split snaps with Courtney Upshaw, thus limiting both players' chances to pile up tackles. Though better against the run than he gets credit for, Dumervil has never been much of a threat to bring down ballcarriers, and he'll likely still see most of his playing time on passing downs.
Tue Jun 17 201421:20Elvis Dumervil packs on 10 extra pounds
Ravens OLB Elvis Dumervil has "bulked up by roughly 10 pounds."
It's a bit of a risky proposition for a 30-year-old, 5-foot-11 pass rusher who already checked in at 260 pounds. Dumervil thinks the increased weight will make him more durable in the rugged AFC North. "It's a different division from the (Broncos' AFC) West, so I'm prepared for this year, for sure." Dumervil racked up 9.5 sacks last season, but only one over his final seven games, where he was slowed by an ankle injury.

Ravens OLB Elvis Dumervil (ankle) is active for Monday night's Week 15 game against the Lions.
Dumervil sat out last week's game against the Vikings, but he and his 9.5 sacks are back in the lineup. Inactive for the Ravens are S Brynden Trawick, S Omar Brown, RB Bernard Scott, OL Ryan Jensen, WR Deonte Thompson, OLB John Simon, and DT Brandon Williams.

Sat May 25 201309:32Elvis Dumervil "emerging as a leader" in OTAs
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh OLD Elvis Dumervil is "emerging as a leader" in OTAs.
Baltimore finds themselves without an incumbent leader on defense for the first time in over a decade with Ray Lewis retiring and Ed Reed signing with Houston. However, Harbaugh said he can see players like Dumervil already filling that role. In addition to his leadership, Dumervil gives the Ravens an extremely potent pass rusher to bookend Terrell Suggs.

The Denver Post reports free agent Elvis Dumervil was "underwhelmed" by the Broncos' most recent offer, and is planning to begin visiting other teams within the next 48 hours.

With neither side appearing keen on a new deal, Dumervil is likely done in Denver. According to the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens still have "serious interest" in Dumervil, but have a "fairly tight" cap situation.

Tue Mar 19 201314:26Elway: Broncos still talking with Dumervil
Broncos executive VP John Elway confirms the team is still working to re-sign free agent DE Elvis Dumervil.
"We've offered Elvis a contract," Elway said. "We'd like to have Elvis back. We'd like to get it done as soon as possible, but I'm sure Elvis wants to see what else is out there." Elway did add the team is "exploring other options." Dumervil may take a few more days to explore the market, but it's beginning to look like his best option would be reconciling with the team that cut him loose in a panic on Friday. The Ravens are his only other known suitor.

Dumervil would be a 3-4 outside linebacker in Baltimore.
