Broncos waived or released RB Jeremiah Johnson, TE Jake O'Connell, OT Paul Cornick, DT Romney Fuga, S Ross Rasner and DE John Youboty. |

Thu Jan 17 2013 | 02:13 | Broncos sign five to reserve/future deals |
Broncos signed RB Jeremiah Johsnon, OT Paul Cornick, DE Ben Garland, DB Duke Ihenacho, and C Quentin Saulsberry to reserve/future contracts. |
All five players ended the season on the practice squad. Johnson appeared in eight games for the Broncos in 2011, rushing for 77 yards on 14 carries. Ihenacho bounced between the active roster and practice squad two separate times in 2012. This group will hope to make it through the spring and into training camp. |

Sat Nov 24 2012 | 12:10 | Broncos release RB Jeremiah Johnson from P.S. |
Broncos release RB Jeremiah Johnson from their practice squad. |
Denver is expected to re-sign him back early next week, but the move was made because the Broncos only have 52 players on their 53-man roster after starting tailback Willis McGahee was placed Wednesday on injured reserve with a designation to return. Because Johnson has three years of NFL service, the Broncos had to either promote Johnson from the practice squad to fill the vacated spot on the 53-man roster or release him. |

Tue Nov 20 2012 | 19:42 | Broncos not expected to sign a RB |
The Broncos aren't expected to sign a free agent running back unless Willis McGahee is placed on injured reserve at some point. |
Steve Slaton reportedly had an impressive workout on Tuesday, but the Broncos are more likely to turn to practice squad RB Jeremiah Johnson if they need depth at the position. |

Broncos promoted RB Jeremiah Johnson from their practice squad. |
Deep leaguers should keep an eye on Johnson, who will immediately take over as the third-string back in Denver's lopsidedly run-heavy attack. Always productive in preseasons, Johnson has not received an NFL carry in his career since going undrafted out of Oregon in 2009. For now, he'll replace Knowshon Moreno on the roster behind Willis McGahee and Lance Ball. |

It's a positive sign for Knowshon Moreno's (hamstring) availability this week. Johnson was added to the active roster when it became apparent that Moreno wouldn't play late last week. |

Broncos promoted RB Jeremiah Johnson off their practice squad. |
Knowshon Moreno is officially listed as questionable, but the activation of Johnson indicates the Broncos know he won't play against the Bengals. An explosive back in a short area, Johnson has always looked good in preseason games. |

Sat Jun 4 2011 | 22:03 | Broncos won't go back to full zone-blocking |
The Denver Post's Mike Klis tells Rotoworld that the Broncos will not be moving back to a full-fledged zone-blocking scheme in the running game this year. |
O-Line coach Dave Magazu, imported along with John Fox from Carolina, is a noted zone-blocking adherent. The Broncos will implement a few elements of his scheme, but nothing like the sophisticated system of zone-blocking guru Alex Gibbs under Mike Shanahan. There's no need for a second overhaul of the offensive line in three years. Jeremiah Johnson, signed to a reserve/futures contract in January, is considered best suited to a one-cut-and-go offense. Denver isn't going to offer that this year. |

Tue Jan 4 2011 | 09:27 | Broncos sign several to futures deals |
Broncos signed RBs Jeremiah Johnson and Brandon Minor, WR Eron Riley, DE Mitch Unrein, LB Dominic Douglas, and S Nick Polk to reserve/future contracts. |
They were all on Denver's practice squad. We've always liked Johnson's talent and preseason production, but he's a better fit in a one-cut-and-go scheme than the power system the Broncos ran under Josh McDaniels and Eric Studesville. His agent should be hoping for a zone-blocking coach. |

Panthers signed RB Jeremiah Johnson to their practice squad. |
Johnson is an interesting talent, and he's resurfaced in an intriguing situation for the second time in a month. Should Jonathan Stewart's concussion continue to keep him sidelined, Johnson could get a look in December. |

Wed Oct 27 2010 | 11:10 | Johnson removed from practice squad |
James Davis will take Jeremiah Johnson's spot on the Redskins practice squad. |
That was short-lived, as Johnson was signed less than 12 hours ago. The Redskins evidently like the upside of Davis more than that of Johnson. |

Redskins signed RB Jeremiah Johnson to their practice squad. |
Very interesting. Johnson had made quite an impression on the Texans in training camp and preseason action before going down with a toe injury. He has experience with Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan as well as the zone blocking scheme. Johnson is a more talented runner than Keiland Williams, so he could be called upon if Ryan Torain goes down with an injury. Dynasty leaguers should take note. |

Fri Sep 3 2010 | 23:27 | Texans waive/injured RB Jeremiah Johnson |
Texans waived/injured RB Jeremiah Johnson (dislocated toe). |
The plan is to work out a settlement and re-sign him to the practice squad. A highly impressive preseason performer, Johnson has been unable to stay healthy through two training camps. He missed all of his first season with a shoulder injury, and the injuries may increase the chances he clears waivers. |

Fri Sep 3 2010 | 18:32 | Johnson to miss a month with toe injury? |
Texans RB Jeremiah Johnson's dislocated toe is expected to sideline him for up to a month. |
The Texans will apparently hold his roster spot after an impressive showing in preseason action. Derrick Ward is expected to handle No. 3 duties until Johnson returns in late September or early October. |

Thu Sep 2 2010 | 21:08 | Johnson leaves with toe sprain |
Texans RB Jeremiah Johnson left Thursday's preseason finale with a right toe sprain. |
Johnson's return is questionable. With Arian Foster (rest) and Steve Slaton (turf toe) out, Chris Henry will carry the load the rest of the way. Johnson is locked into the No. 3 job as long as this injury isn't serious. |
Thu Sep 2 2010 | 15:30 | Jeremiah Johnson promoted past Chris Henry |
The Texans' website confirms that Jeremiah Johnson has been promoted to No. 3 on the running back depth chart, ahead of Chris Henry. |
Johnson, averaging 5.4 yards per preseason carry, has sewn up a roster spot, helped in part by Steve Slaton's turf toe. A one-cut back who plays faster than his 4.6 forty time indicates, he's worth rostering in Dynasty leagues. |

Sun Aug 15 2010 | 20:34 | Kubiak impressed with Jeremiah Johnson |
Coach Gary Kubiak came away impressed with second-year RB Jeremiah Johnson after he led the team with 33 yards on five carries in Houston's exhibition opener. |
"He's got a lot of running ability," Kubiak said. "... We've got to get him comfortable in the pass game and pass protection, picking up blitzes and those things, because he has got some ability to run the football. Obviously, he's moved up the depth chart." With Ben Tate looking done for the year, Johnson is battling Chris Henry for the third-string job. |

Thu Jun 3 2010 | 01:54 | Texans plan to cut an RB before camp |
The Texans plan to cut at least one of their current six running backs before training camp opens. |
Coach Gary Kubiak confirmed that Steve Slaton and Arian Foster are safe, and injured second-round pick Ben Tate isn't going anywhere. That likely leaves Ryan Moats, Jeremiah Johnson, and Chris Henry vying for the final two spots. Our guess is that it will come down to Johnson and Henry in a toss-up. |
