Maneri was released by the Jets on Tuesday.
With injuries compromising the Jets' depth at outside linebacker, a roster spot was needed at that position, resulting in Maneri's corresponding release. The Jets added Maneri to their roster in June after Zach Sudfeld was placed on IR, but the 6-foot-7 tight end didn't do enough to distinguish himself in the early part of training camp.

26-year-old Maneri is another ex-Bear following Lovie Smith to Tampa Bay. Purely a blocking tight end, Maneri has also played offensive tackle in the league. He appeared in four games with the 2013 Bears, failing to catch a pass.

A tight end at Temple, the 6'6/271-pound Maneri remains in a developmental phase entering his second NFL offseason. He went undrafted last April. Austin played college ball at Clemson. At 6'3/315, he projects as a guard.
