Quin recorded two tackles, an interception and a pass defensed in Sunday's loss to Denver.
Quin made a diving basket catch on a deflected pass that snuffed out a Broncos march toward the end zone. The 2014 NFL interceptions leader is now tied atop the league lead this season with two. Quin has assumed a leadership role in Detroit and appears set to remain in a center-field role, freeing him up to make breaks on the ball. Expect him to be in the thick of this year's interception race.

Quin tallied eight tackles, defended a pass and returned an interception for a touchdown in Sunday's 33-28 loss to the Chargers.
After leading the league in interceptions in 2014, Quin picked up where he left off, snatching a deflected pass and racing 31 yards for the score. Opposing offenses may start shading away from Quin, but his nose for the ball and role in defensive coordinator Teryl Austin's attack should mean that he'll continue to be in the middle of the action.

Quin is hoping that opposing teams don't shy away from throwing at him, Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press reports.
After Quin's league-leading seven interceptions last season, teams would be wise not to throw in his direction. Expect defensive coordinator Teryl Austin to, in turn, make adjustments and put Quin in position to have a strong encore season. With Darius Slay and Rashean Mathis on the outside, both long and physical, and strong safety James Ihedigbo comfortable in the box, Quin is likely going to be free to roam over the top as a center fielder - snatching errant passes.
Wed May 21 201413:17Glover Quin (ankle) limited during OTAs
Lions FS Glover Quin (ankle) has been limited at the onset of OTAs.
Quin underwent a "small procedure" to relieve the pain in his ankle after the season ended. He'll be all systems go for minicamp and training camp later this summer. In the Lions' new defense, Quin is expected to play an Ed Reed-type deep safety role. He'll be more of a center fielder than he was last season.

Mon Apr 7 201409:04Glover Quin to play Ed Reed role on D
Glover Quin will play the Ed Reed role in DC Teryl Austin's scheme.
Austin was Reed's position coach in Baltimore in 2011 and 2012. Quin will no longer play sides like he did under Gunther Cunningham, instead dropping to the deeper part of the field and reading the quarterback. It's a free safety position built for players with a nose for the ball, something Quin has shown during his five-year career. He's recorded 57 pass breakups, eight interceptions and four forced fumbles.

Sat Mar 29 201417:10Lions FS Glover Quin on track for OTAs
Lions FS Glover Quin (ankle) is expected to be ready for the start of OTAs.
Quin underwent minor ankle surgery earlier this month, but said he plans on participating in offseason workouts despite not being fully recovered. Even if Quin ends up being limited in OTAs, his heath isn't a major concern. The Lions are moving Quin to free safety this season, where he'll start opposite James Ihedigbo.

Quin inked a five-year, $23.5 million deal last March.

Lions SS Glover Quin was forced from Sunday's game against the Steelers with an ankle injury, and is questionable to return.

Wed Jul 3 201319:23Lions DC impressed with new SS Glover Quin
Lions DC Gunther Cunningham has been impressed with new SS Glover Quin's offseason.
"He is something," Cunningham said. "We had a meeting the other day and I turned to (our vice president of pro personnel) and I said, `Quin.' He goes, `Professional.' I said, `That's the best description I've ever heard.' That's him. All about business every day." With Louis Delmas' (knees) health still up in the air, the Lions are counting on Quin to anchor the back end of the defense. A 1,000-snap player for the Texans last season, Quin graded out as the No. 40 safety in Pro Football Focus' ratings.

Wed Mar 13 201315:19For real: Lions close 5-year deal with S Quin
Lions agreed to terms with SS Glover Quin on a five-year contract.
We put "for real" in the headline because this deal was initially reported by ESPN, then withdrawn with the Texans reportedly jumping back into the mix. It's not been confirmed by Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official website. Quin, 27, is an effective run support safety whose cover skills have been overrated in some circles. He has some experience covering slot receivers, but it hasn't typically gone well. Quin did rack up 84 tackles, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles at strong safety in Houston last year. He'll be on the IDP radar as a DB2/3 with some upside behind a leaky Detroit front seven.

Wed Mar 13 201314:34Lions continue their haul; sign S Glover Quin
Lions agreed to terms with S Glover Quin, formerly of the Texans.
Detroit continues to rake 'em in on Wednesday. Quin will replace free agent Louis Delmas in the Lions' defensive backfield, but he can also play some corner. Quin struggles in coverage a bit, but he's an above-average run defender. It's a tough loss for Houston, who wanted him back badly. Detroit has now inked Quin and cornerback Chris Houston to help shore up the back end.

Wed Mar 13 201300:06Glover Quin looking for $5 million per year
NFL.com reports free agent S Glover Quin is seeking roughly $5 million per season.
It's affordable, and in line with what we expected. Quin is visiting the Lions, but could still end up back in Houston. He'd be a strong add for the DB-needy Lions, and tough loss for the Texans.

Mon Mar 11 201323:05Glover Quin a fit for the Lions?
Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com is "hearing a lot of buzz" regarding free agent SS Glover Quin and the Lions.
The Lions are going to be linked to virtually every available safety and corner because it's a need, but they don't have much cap space. Quin is a name they might actually be able to afford. He won't be as costly as Dashon Goldson or Ed Reed.

Sat Mar 9 201317:14Glover Quin eyeing William Moore money?
CSN Houston thinks "it's possible" William Moore's deal with the Falcons will be a template for free agent Glover Quin and his agent to shoot for.
Moore inked a five-year, $30 million ($14 million guaranteed) with the Falcons on Saturday. Moore is eight months older than Quin, but he's also been a consistently better player. We'd expect Quin to get between $4.5 million to $5.5 million annually, as opposed to the $6 million Moore received.

Mon Mar 4 201314:36Texans will not use franchise tag
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports the Texans will not wield their franchise tag before Monday's deadline.
They're either going to re-sign SS Glover Quin to a long-term deal or let him hit the market. The Texans never considered using the tag on free agent OLB Connor Barwin. Re-signing Quin is Houston's priority over keeping Barwin.

Mon Mar 4 201308:36Texans 'badly' want to re-sign S Quin
According to The Sideline View's Adam Caplan, the Texans "badly" want to re-sign free agent SS Glover Quin.
We already knew keeping Quin was Houston's top in-house priority, but it's sounding like there's a good chance he's franchise tagged ahead of Monday's deadline if a long-term deal cannot be reached. The tag for safeties is an affordable $6.916 million.

Sun Mar 3 201317:45'Persistent buzz' that Texans will tag S Quin
Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio says there is "persistent buzz" that the Texans will use the franchise tag on SS Glover Quin.
Re-signing Quin has already been deemed Houston's top priority, but there hasn't been a ton of talk about how they'll go about doing it. We haven't heard any updates on how/if long-term talks are going. The franchise tag for Quin carries a $6.916 million price. Houston has until 4PM ET on Monday to make a decision.
