Young had two carries, each a one-yard touchdown run, in Saturday's win over the Eagles.
Alfred Morris did the hard work, only to have Young jump in at the one-yard line to vulture two scores. It was Young's first time in the end zone since another one-yard touchdown all the way back in Week 1.

Young (neck) is probable for Sunday's game against Philadelphia.
Young has been one of the league's more pesky touchdown vultures over the last couple years, and he's already struck twice in 2014 -- once in each of Washington's first two games. His numbers probably aren't worth chasing outside of very deep formats, though.
Thu Sep 18 201416:46Young (neck) practiced in full Thursday
Young (neck) practiced in full Thursday, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.
Young has been upgraded from his limited participation Wednesday, all but assuring his presence Sunday at Philadelphia. Alfred Morris should again have his bulldozing fullback clearing lanes in Week 3.

Mon Jul 21 201410:53Report: Darrel Young's job is safe
A source tells CSN Washington that FB Darrel Young's job is safe.
Young's roster spot wasn't thought to be in danger because of talent -- he's among the league's top lead-blockers. It was a question mark because Jay Gruden rarely used a traditional fullback in Cincy, instead employing two-tight end sets in his pass-first scheme. Keeping Young is further evidence that the Redskins are going to at least attempt to stick with the Mike Shanahan scheme when they do run the ball.

Sat Jul 12 201418:47Darrel Young expects to remain in Washington
Redskins FB Darrel Young believes there will be a role for him in new HC Jay Gruden's offense.
Gruden's offense in Cincinnati rarely featured a fullback, instead relying heavily on two tight-end sets. Young was one of the better lead blockers in the league in Mike Shanahan's zone-blocking system, but faces an uncertain future under Gruden. Young has two years remaining on his three-year, $3.97 million contract. The Redskins can save $693,229 in 2014 cap space by cutting him.

Fri Nov 8 201300:50Darrel Young held out of the end zone
Darrel Young rushed once for no gain in Washington's Week 10 loss to the Vikings.
Young was held without a catch on one target in the passing game. His lone carry came on a 3rd-and-1 from the Redskins' 49-yard line with time running out in the fourth quarter. He couldn't convert, setting up a fourth down. As was suspected, Young's three-touchdown outburst against the Chargers was game-plan specific to Week 9. He remains well off the fantasy radar.

Wed Nov 6 201319:54Darrel Young's TDs likely fluky
ESPN Redskins blogger John Keim believes FB Darrel Young's three Week 9 touchdowns were less of a trend and more of a "wrinkle specific for (the Chargers') defense."
The Chargers didn't slant their defensive line, so Young's straight-ahead style worked wonders at the goal line. His touchdowns came from one, one, and four yards out. We wouldn't even bother picking up Young in fantasy leagues, beyond perhaps 16-teamers. He's a lead blocker and lightly-used checkdown option.
