Sat Sep 3 201121:54Jarrett Brown among Browns cuts
Browns waived QB Jarrett Brown.
Brown performed well this preseason, completing 15-of-25 passes for 140 yards, but not enough to earn the Browns' No. 3 quarterback job. Also waived or released by the Browns were OL Dominic Alford, RB Tyler Clutts, RB Quinn Porter, LB Archie Donald, DL Brian Sanford, OL Jarrod Shaw, LB Brian Smith and WR Rod Windsor.

Sun Jun 12 201108:37Jarrett Brown a candidate for roster?
The Cleveland Plain-Dealer's Tony Grossi is unsure if Jarrett Brown is a legitimate candidate to be the Browns' third-string quarterback.
The Browns signed Brown in January, and he'll soon be their third quarterback after Jake Delhomme is officially let go. Brown was an undrafted free agent out of West Virginia last year. It wouldn't be surprising if an undrafted free agent from this year's crop eventually takes his place on the roster.

Sat Jan 8 201110:32Browns add Brown as project
Browns signed QB Jarrett Brown, DL Scott Paxson and CB Ramzee Robinson to reserve/future contracts.
Brown is a project that made waves at last year's Senior Bowl. He was waived by the Niners once they added Troy Smith. Robinson was Mr. Irrelevant in 2007 and has already had stints with the Lions, Eagles, Browns and Redskins.

Thu Sep 9 201015:52Report: Giants to work out Jarrett Brown
The Giants will reportedly work out free agent QB Jarrett Brown.
The Giants won't carry more than two quarterbacks, so Brown would only be a candidate for the practice squad. He's years away from contributing as a reliable backup.

Sun Sep 5 201014:3849ers announce practice squad
49ers signed QB Jarrett Brown, FB Jehuu Caulcrick, LB Bruce Davis, WR Kevin Jurovich, T Matt Kopa, LB Keaton Kristick, S Chris Maragos, and DL Will Tukuafu to their practice squad.
Brown, a rookie from West Virginia, had a decent camp but will need at least a season on the practice squad to develop. Davis was a Steelers third-round pick in 2008, but he's never performed up to expectations.

Fri Sep 3 201017:2949ers waive several
49ers waived QB Jarrett Brown, DT Will Tukuafu, WR Kevin Jurovich, LB Keaton Kristick, S Chris Maragos, and WR Bobby Guillory.
Alex Boone appears to have made the 53. Brown, undrafted out of West Virginia, looked good at the Senior Bowl, but never put a hint of pressure on Nate Davis for the No. 3 QB job. (Davis, by the way, was kept on the team).
Sat Jun 19 201012:34Brown receives zero snaps in minicamp
Undrafted rookie QB Jarrett Brown received zero snaps during 7-on-7 or 11-on-11 work in the 49ers' recent mandatory minicamp.
Brown was seen by many as a mid-round sleeper heading into the draft, but he has no shot to make the 49ers roster this summer. He's a good bet to spend the 2010 season on San Fran's practice squad.
