With Toby Gerhart gone, the Vikings are looking to add depth behind Adrian Peterson. Stephens-Howling shouldn't require more than a veteran minimum deal coming off ACL surgery, and could be a fit on special teams and in a third-down role. Matt Asiata, Bradley Randle and Joe Banyard are the only running backs on the Vikings roster behind Peterson.
