Tue Jan 3 201223:23Bucs sign QB Ratliff to reserve/future deal
Bucs signed QB Brett Ratliff, TE Collin Franklin, WR Ed Gant, LB Mike Balogun and OT Mike Ingersoll to reserve/future contracts.
A journeyman undrafted free agent, Ratliff has made zero career appearances since entering the league in 2007. Gant spent all of 2011 on the practice squad despite turning in a strong preseason. He could compete for a roster spot in 2012. Franklin was held off the stat-sheet in two games on the active roster. Balogun could latch on as a special teamer.

Fri Jan 7 201116:28Titans sign three reserve/future players
Titans signed QB Brett Ratliff, LS Jake Ingram, and LB Kevin Malast to reserve/future contracts.
The Titans have a slew of free agent linebackers, so Malast is insurance for the offseason. Ratliff is the biggest name, having bounced between the Jets and Browns. The 25-year-old still hasn't thrown a regular season pass.

Browns waived QB Brett Ratliff.
Seneca Wallace (ankle) was healthy enough to back up Colt McCoy in Week 10, and Jake Delhomme (ankle) isn't too far behind. McCoy will remain the starter, however. The Browns didn't have the roster space for four healthy QBs.

Browns signed QB Brett Ratliff off the Patriots' practice squad.
Things can change between now and next weekend, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Browns have informed Ratliff he'll back up Colt McCoy in Week 6 at Pittsburgh. It's a nightmare situation for Cleveland. Ratliff was with the Browns at the start of training camp, and has a good chance to play some snaps next Sunday. McCoy is almost certain to struggle mightily.

Sun Sep 5 201017:29Jaguars sign practice squad
Jaguars signed QB Brett Ratliff, OT Daniel Baldridge, TE Mike Caussin, WR John Matthews, and DT Ko Quaye to their practice squad.
The team is expected to sign three more players to the squad on Monday. Ratliff has bounced around (Jets, Browns), but hasn't seen enough regular season action to be ineligible for the eight-man practice team. The Jaguars decided to grab him rather than retain undrafted rookie Trevor Harris.

Sat May 1 201021:52Browns not opposed to four quarterbacks
Coach Eric Mangini insists he and team president Mike Holmgren are not opposed to carrying four quarterbacks this year.
That's easy to say in early, but teams rarely go with four quarterbacks on cut-down day. While Brett Ratliff is a Mangini favorite from their time together with the Jets, he's a longshot to make the final roster.
