Thu Jun 25 201511:58UPDATE: Cason
UPDATE: Cason, a free agent, will miss the entire 2015 season after undergoing surgery on his right foot Tuesday, ESPN.com reports. "Had surgery this morning to fix an ongoing problem," Cason wrote on Instagram.
The 28-year-old started 11 games for the Panthers last year, recording 58 tackles, four forced fumbles and two interceptions before being released after Week 13. He was then picked up by the Ravens and played in two games, failing to record any stats in either contest.
Tue Dec 9 201413:15Antoine Cason: Signs With Ravens
Cason signed with the Ravens on Tuesday, EAG Sports Management reports.
Cason started 11 games for the Panthers this season, but he was struggling to keep up in coverage, and was thus released last Tuesday. Just one week later, he's signing with a team that has minimal depth at cornerback, which could leave Cason as the No. 3 or 4 corner from the get-go.
Tue Dec 2 201414:19The Panthers released Cason on Tuesday
The Panthers released Cason on Tuesday, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Cason started 11 of 12 games for the Panthers this season, but he graded out extremely poorly and was benched last week, so the Panthers decided to move on. Bene Benwikere is the favorite to replace Cason in the Panthers' starting lineup.

Cason registered eight tackles (seven solo) and one interception during Sunday's game versus Cincinnati.
Cason has displayed an uncanny nose for the ball through his first six games for the Panthers, as he's already forced three fumbles, intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble as well. Moreover, Cason boasts 42 tackles (32 solo) on the campaign, offering great production from a cornerback.

Cason tallied six tackles (three solo), one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery during Sunday's comeback win over the Bears.
Cason has been outstanding since arriving from Arizona this offseason. As one of the Panthers' starting cornerbacks, Cason has totaled 34 tackles (25 solo), forced three fumbles, and notched an interception.

Cason recorded 10 tackles (seven solo), forced two fumbles, and recovered one fumble in an outstanding performance Sunday against the Lions.
Cason, who nabbed an interception in his Panthers' debut last week, not only reached double figures in tackles against the Lions, but also forced a turnover and generally held star wideout Calvin Johnson at bay Sunday. Through two games with the Panthers, Cason now boasts 19 tackles, marking great production from a cornerback. In short, the veteran has enjoyed his reunion with coach Ron Rivera to begin this season.

Cason led the Panthers with nine tackles (all solo) and also intercepted a pass in Sunday's season opening win over the Buccaneers.
Cason performed admirably in his Panthers debut, providing strong run support while also leading the team with two passes defended, including an interception. As Carolina's No. 1 cornerback, Cason could benefit from the Panthers' stout front-seven forcing quarterbacks into ill-advised throws this season, but he should have his hands full against Lions' wideout Calvin Johnson next Sunday.
Sat Mar 22 201411:09Cason should enter camp as the starter
The Charlotte Observer believes CB Antoine Cason will enter training camp atop the depth chart.
Cason signed a one-year deal with Carolina after playing sparingly in Arizona last season. A 2008 first-round pick of the Chargers, Cason has a chance to rehab his career in Carolina. The front seven in Carolina takes so much pressure off the secondary even middling players like Captain Munnerlyn and Drayton Florence were able to flourish last season. Cason could thrive in that situation, earning himself a hefty payday next offseason.

Fri Mar 21 201414:02Panthers do deal with CB Antoine Cason
Panthers agreed to terms with CB Antoine Cason on a one-year contract.
A 2008 first-round pick of the Chargers, Cason is now on his third NFL team. He played sparingly in Arizona last season, drawing below-average marks in coverage but making a heroic pick-six of Ryan Fitzpatrick in the Cards' Week 15 overtime win against Tennessee. Cason is a big-bodied corner going on age 28. He'll compete for playing time in a limited-talent Carolina secondary.

Tue Mar 18 201420:01Antoine Cason visiting the Panthers
Free agent CB Antoine Cason will visit the Panthers.
The ex-Charger played only 169 defensive snaps for the Cardinals last season, struggling in coverage. He's still only 27, however, and just one year removed from being a 16-game starter. Cason would be a sensible, cheap flier for a team with a beastly front seven that takes pressure off its secondary.

Thu Mar 14 201315:30Dolphins cooling on FA CB Cason
The Dolphins have reportedly "cooled" on free agent CB Antoine Cason.
The free-spending Dolphins haven't shown much urgency at all at the cornerback position. Perhaps they have someone like Cary Williams in mind, or maybe they'll address the position in the draft. Cason has drawn a lot of interest, but his only known visit was with the Cardinals.

Free agent CB Antoine Cason is visiting the Cardinals.
Teams have been after Cason. He has also been linked to the Redskins, Browns, Lions, and Dolphins. He fits the mold for Todd Bowles' defense as a press corner with good length. We like Cason wherever he lands.

Sat Mar 9 201317:05Browns interested in Antoine Cason
The Browns have shown interest in free agent CB Antoine Cason.
New defensive coordinator Ray Horton likes his corners to be taller and be able to tackle, and Cason fits the bill. Cason also has ties to OC Norv Turner and coach Rob Chudzinski from their days together is San Diego. The 26-year-old will have plenty of suitors.

Sat Mar 9 201301:09'Multiple teams' pursuing Antoine Cason
Sirius XM Radio's Adam Caplan passes along buzz that "multiple teams" are in the mix for free agent CB Antoine Cason.
The Colts would make sense as a team that plays press-man in the secondary and recently hired former Chargers exec Jimmy Raye. Indianapolis is also needy at corner. Cason is 26 years old. He was the 27th overall pick in the 2008 draft.

Mon Mar 4 201318:08Cardinals interested in CB Antoine Cason?
The Arizona Republic specifically mentions free agent CB Antoine Cason as a player that "makes sense" for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals are as thin as it gets at the cornerback spot after the release of William Gay last week. Cason is a bigger corner, which is how new DC Todd Bowles likes his corners to be. The Union-Tribune San Diego predicted last month that Cason could get upwards of $5 million annually on the open market.

Sat Feb 9 201321:54Antoine Cason could seek $5 million annually
The Union-Tribune San Diego believes that impending free agent CB Antoine Cason will get at least $5 million annually in free agency, and "probably more."
Cason came on late in 2012 to finish with 73 tackles, two interceptions, and 11 pass deflections as a 16-game starter. While San Diego has expressed interest in bringing him back, he likely won't be returning on a "team-friendly" contract. Shareece Wright and Marcus Gilchrist are the only other corners on the Chargers' roster with NFL experience.

Mon Nov 7 201119:49RCB Antoine Cason to start on Thursday vs OAK
Chargers RCB Antoine Cason will recover his old starting job from rookie Marcus Gilchrist for Week 10's Thursday night matchup with the Raiders.
Gilchrist was destroyed by Jordy Nelson and had to be pulled from Week 9's shootout, and we're guessing that Norv Turner wants to give him time to get his confidence back. Cason hasn't been much better, giving up three TDs to Plaxico Burress the week before. Unfortunately, this coverage issue isn't much help to owners of Raiders receivers, who lack a week-to-week clarity in the game plan.
