According to the player rep for free agent Justin Gage, the receiver will not be re-signing with the Titans.

The Nashville Tennessean is surprised, just as they were when the Titans also moved on from Kerry Collins. Both decisions seem small on the surface, but avoiding familiar mediocrities is a major step in the right direction for the Titans. They should be aiming higher than Gage, even if an unproven young talent is signed instead.

Britt is easily the best wideout on the roster, so even with Gage apparently on the way back it's hard to imagine Britt losing snaps. The Titans are simply a much more dangerous team when Britt is used as an every-down wide receiver.

As expected, WR Justin Gage has been ruled out for the Titans' Week 6 Monday Night matchup against Jacksonville.

Kenny Britt will start in Gage's place, and makes an intriguing WR3 play versus a 29th-ranked Jaguar pass defense that has surrendered a league-high 12 TD tosses.
