Tue Sep 27 201117:56Agent: Titans won't re-sign Gage
According to the player rep for free agent Justin Gage, the receiver will not be re-signing with the Titans.
The Nashville Tennessean is surprised, just as they were when the Titans also moved on from Kerry Collins. Both decisions seem small on the surface, but avoiding familiar mediocrities is a major step in the right direction for the Titans. They should be aiming higher than Gage, even if an unproven young talent is signed instead.

Tue Sep 27 201108:15Titans will sign Justin Gage
Titans will sign WR Justin Gage, sources tell ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
Gage spent the last four seasons with the Titans before being released at final cuts this year. He'll be insurance behind Damian Williams and Lavelle Hawkins with Kenny Britt (knee) done for the year.

Sat Sep 3 201111:32Titans part ways with Justin Gage
Titans released WR Justin Gage.
Increasingly less explosive in recent seasons, Gage tallied just one catch this preseason after making only four for 20 yards in 11 games in 2010. After eight years in the league, he's near the end of the line.

Sun Aug 28 201119:20Gage falling down the depth chart
Justin Gate has just one target in three preseason games.
The Titans insist Gate is having a fine training camp, but his playing time has decreased three straight weeks. With Damian Williams moving up the depth chart, Gage is due $3.5 million as the fourth receiver. We can't imagine a scenario where the Titans keep him around at that price.

Wed May 4 201123:28Justin Gage not expected back with Titans
ESPN AFC South blogger Paul Kuharsky expects the Titans to part ways with free agent WR Justin Gage.
Jeff Fisher and Mike Heimerdinger had an odd fascination with Gage, who has been mediocrity personified for four years in Nashville. Last year's third-rounder Damian Williams is expected to battle Nate Washington for the starting job opposite Kenny Britt. Barring a free agent addition, Lavelle Hawkins will slot in as the No. 4 receiver.

Sun Jan 2 201115:01Gage inactive for Titans Sunday
Titans declared Justin Gage inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Gage was not on the injury report this week, so it looks like he's just sitting the season finale out as a precaution. His season ends with just 20 catches for 266 yards and one touchdown in 11 games. This passing game can't support more than one wideout, and that wideout is clearly Kenny Britt going forward. Other Titans inactives today: Third QB Rusty Smith, TE Bo Scaife, T Troy Kropog, DT Jovan Haye, LB David Thornton, S Robert Johnson and S Vincent Fuller.
Sun Dec 5 201016:59Gage has just one grab for Titans in loss
Justin Gage had just one catch for 25 yards in the team's Week 13 loss.
Gage still hasn't found the end zone this season, and can safely be left on the waiver wire in all formats.
Mon Nov 15 201017:50Titans use Gage as slot receiver
The Titans used Justin Gage as their primary slot receiver in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, in place of rookie Damian Williams.
Gage was targeted a whopping nine times, but caught just three passes for 18 yards. "Gage has been a starter here for a number of years," coach Jeff Fisher said. "Damian is up and coming. He's learning and making plays. But we felt like Gage could play the slot and he does a good job with it. He gets open."

Sun Nov 14 201018:07Gage hauls in just three for 18 yards
Justin Gage caught three passes for 18 yards in Sunday's Week 10 loss to Miami.
Gage saw nine targets on the afternoon, though a majority of those looks were overthrows. He lacks big play ability, and won't see enough snaps to be a factor in fantasy leagues.
Tue Nov 2 201009:04Gage to return after bye week
Justin Gage (hamstring) is expected to return after the Titans' bye week.
Gage has been practicing fully for a couple weeks but has been inactive on gamedays. The Titans need him now that Kenny Britt will be sidelined for several games. He'll return as the starter opposite Nate Washington.

Sun Oct 31 201014:52Gage inactive again for Titans
Justin Gage (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Gage likely wasn't going to start over Kenny Britt anyway, but it's interesting that he's practicing fully but not dressing on Sundays. Rookie Damien Williams may have passed Gage on the depth chart. Other Titans inactives: Third QB Rusty Smith, T Troy Kropog, G Ryan Durand, DT Tony Brown, LB Jamie Winborn, CB Ryan Mouton and S Robert Johnson.
Fri Oct 29 201012:07Fisher won't guarantee Gage's starting spot
Coach Jeff Fisher isn't guaranteeing that Justin Gage (hamstring) will regain his starting job if he plays this week.
"We'll have five (receivers) up and they're all going to play," said Fisher. It's a departure from precedent for Fisher, who has previously re-installed Gage as a starter upon returning from injuries. He may be loyal, but he's not short-sighted enough to take Kenny Britt out of the lineup.

Thu Oct 28 201018:09Gage practicing fully again this week
Justin Gage (hamstring) is practicing fully for a second straight week.
Gage did the same last week only to be held out of the game. He should finally be ready to suit up this week, but there's no way the Titans can hand him his starting job back. They're now second in the NFL in scoring thanks to Kenny Britt's emergence as the lone threat to take safeties out of the box.
Fri Oct 22 201018:06Justin Gage listed as questionable
Justin Gage (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 7 despite practicing fully again on Friday.
With Kenny Britt in danger of being deactivated for allegedly punching a man in the face Friday, Gage could reenter the starting lineup against the Eagles on Sunday. Just don't be surprised if rookie Damian Williams leads the Titans in receiving. He was Kerry Collins' favorite target in Week 6.

Thu Oct 21 201017:46Justin Gage practices in full again
Justin Gage (hamstring) practiced in full again on Thursday.
Gage is on track to return against the Eagles this week, but coach Jeff Fisher indicated that he won't be rushed back into his starting role until he's proven to be 100 percent. Kenny Britt should be safe for WR3 value for at least one more week.

Wed Oct 20 201019:48Fisher: Gage won't be rushed back
Despite Justin Gage's (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, coach Jeff Fisher indicated that the Titans will not rush Gage back until he's proven he's 100 percent healthy.
Gage was listed as a full participant Wednesday, but the Titans only held a light walkthrough practice. "We are going to make the right decision for his hamstring, that is first and foremost," Fisher said. "When we are convinced the hamstring is 100 percent healthy then he'll return to the lineup."

Wed Oct 20 201018:51Justin Gage returns to Titans practice fully
Justin Gage (hamstring) returned to practice in full Wednesday.
Gage has missed the past two games, with Kenny Britt earning the starting nod and emerging as Tennessee's clear-cut No. 1 receiver. Britt is easily the best wideout on the roster, so even with Gage apparently on the way back it's hard to imagine Britt losing snaps. The Titans are simply a much more dangerous team when Britt is used as an every-down wide receiver.

Mon Oct 18 201019:17Titans declare inactives
Titans declared WR Justin Gage, CB Jason McCourty, S Robert Johnson, LB Rennie Curran, T Troy Kropog, G Ryan Durand, DT Amon Gordon, and third QB Rusty Smith inactive for Week 6.
Kenny Britt starts opposite Nate Washington on Monday Night Football. DTs Tony Brown and Sen'Derrick Marks, both dealing with knee injuries, are active. As is Chris Johnson, who was listed in the injury report as "probable."

Sat Oct 16 201016:29Gage ruled out for Week 5 Monday Night
As expected, WR Justin Gage has been ruled out for the Titans' Week 6 Monday Night matchup against Jacksonville.
Kenny Britt will start in Gage's place, and makes an intriguing WR3 play versus a 29th-ranked Jaguar pass defense that has surrendered a league-high 12 TD tosses.

Fri Oct 15 201015:41Justin Gage misses practice
Justin Gage (hamstring) missed Titans practice on Friday.
The Titans don't play until Monday night, so their official injury report will be released on Saturday. Gage won't play, and Kenny Britt will start.
