Hawkins signed with the CFL's British Columbia Lions on Tuesday, Alex Marvez of FOX Sports reports.
Hawkins was out of the NFL in 2014, after working mostly as a special teamer with the Chargers in 2013. He has 71 career receptions for just 771 yards and one touchdown, with most of that production coming for the Titans back in 2011. Now 28 years old, Hawkins is unlikely to resurface in the NFL.

Fri Apr 4 201415:27Buccaneers expected to sign WR Hawkins
ESPN's Adam Caplan reports the Buccaneers are expected to sign free agent WR Lavelle Hawkins.
Hawkins would add depth to Tampa Bay's shallow receiver corps, while also offering return value. Hawkins was a fourth-round pick by the Titans in 2008.

Tue Oct 1 201313:58Chargers sign veteran wideout Hawkins
Chargers signed WR Lavelle Hawkins.
It's an indication the Bolts don't expect Malcom Floyd (neck) back any time soon. The longtime Titan couldn't make it past final cuts with the 49ers, but had a strong preseason. Hawkins should contribute mostly on special teams in San Diego.

The Falcons worked out free agent WRs Lavelle Hawkins, Mohamed Massaquoi and Courtney Roby.
It could be an indication that Roddy White (ankle) will be limited to another afternoon of decoy duties in Week 2. Hawkins was released at final cuts by the 49ers, Massaquoi, the Jets.

Fri Aug 2 201318:0949ers sign WR Lavelle Hawkins
49ers signed WR Lavelle Hawkins, formerly of the Patriots.
27-year-old Hawkins was cut loose by the receiver-needy Patriots early in camp, which tells you all you need to know about his abilities. The 49ers will likely view Hawkins as a camp body due to several injuries at wide receiver.

Fri Aug 2 201308:09Lavelle Hawkins to work out for 49ers
Free agent WR Lavelle Hawkins will work out for the 49ers.
Hawkins, 27, was released by the Patriots on Wednesday, and he's expected to be in San Francisco this weekend. The Niners have been working out veteran receivers all summer. The team is thin at the position with Michael Crabtree (Achilles'), Kyle Williams (knee), and Mario Manningham (knee) nursing injuries.

Wed Jul 31 201317:42Patriots release veteran WR Lavelle Hawkins
Patriots released WR Lavelle Hawkins.
So begins the Patriots' annual purge of their veteran receiver fliers. Hawkins' release is both a mild vote of confidence in the Pats' extremely young receiver corps, and poor sign for Hawkins' future. Getting cut loose before August is never a good thing, but particularly so when a team has as little proven depth in your position group as the Pats do in their receiver corps. Hawkins will look to latch on elsewhere as a camp body.

Thu May 9 201312:03Pats sign WR Lavelle Hawkins to 2-year deal
Patriots agreed to terms with WR Lavelle Hawkins to a two-year contract.
A fourth-round pick of the Titans in 2008, Hawkins managed just 71 catches over five seasons and was replaced on the roster by Kevin Walter. He'll battle with other castoffs such as Donald Jones and Michael Jenkins for a roster spot in New England. Contract details aren't yet available, but we wouldn't expect any guaranteed money. Hawkins isn't a real threat to projected starting "X" receiver Aaron Dobson.

Wed May 1 201316:18Titans release veteran WR Lavelle Hawkins
Titans released WR Lavelle Hawkins.
Hawkins became expendable following the signing of Kevin Walter, which says a lot about where his career is at. He was set to make $1.9 million. Hawkins was active just seven times last season, and has only 71 catches for 771 yards through 52 career games. He offered little on special teams in 2012. The former fourth-round pick will try to latch on elsewhere and compete for someone's final receiver spot. Nate Washington could be the next veteran wideout to go in Tennessee.

Tue Apr 2 201315:14Lavelle Hawkins' roster spot in danger
Titans WR Lavelle Hawkins' roster spot is in danger following the addition of Kevin Walter.
Hawkins has a $1.9 million base salary, nearly $1 million more than Walter's 2013 pay. The Titans have never gotten much receiving production from Hawkins, and he didn't help on special teams last season, either. It's possible that the Titans will part with both Hawkins and Nate Washington before the draft.

Tue Dec 11 201218:00Lavelle Hawkins tumbling down depth chart
Titans WR Lavelle Hawkins was a healthy scratch last week while practice squad call-up Michael Preston filled in for Damian Williams (hamstring).
The Titans opted to play Preston as a reward for stellar play in practices and because he's a better fit in at the "X" position. Hawkins has just four receptions after signing a three-year, $7.2 million contract last February. Kendall Wright's addition has made him superfluous.

Mon Jul 30 201221:11WR Hawkins expecting season-long ankle pain
Titans WR Lavelle Hawkins anticipates having to deal with ankle pain all season.
Hawkins played on the injured ankle late last season before re-aggravating it during Monday's practice. The 26-year-old Hawkins was signed to a three-year extension in February and, despite being buried on the depth chart, figures to stick as the team's No. 5 receiver.

Mon Feb 13 201211:16Hawkins' three-year deal worth $7.2 million
Titans WR Lavelle Hawkins' new three-year deal is worth $7.2 million, and includes a $2 million signing bonus.
It's a nice haul for a player who had made just 19 catches in three seasons coming into 2011. Hawkins is still unlikely to be anything more than the Titans' No. 4 receiver in 2012, however. His fantasy value remains limited to deeper PPR leagues.

Fri Feb 10 201215:03Titans re-sign No. 4 receiver Lavelle Hawkins
Titans re-signed WR Lavelle Hawkins to an undisclosed contract.
Hawkins, who turns 26 in July, finished the 2011 season with career highs in receptions (47) and yards (470), though he's averaged under 11 yards per catch in his career and with just one touchdown in four years. Hawkins should enter 2012 as the Titans' fourth receiver behind Kenny Britt, Nate Washington, and Damian Williams. The club values Hawkins because he can play all three receiver positions and contribute on special teams coverage.

Sun Jan 1 201220:12Lavelle Hawkins goes for 19 yards on 3 grabs
Titans WR Lavelle Hawkins caught three balls for 19 yards in the team's Week 17 win over the Texans.
He wraps up the season with career highs on receptions (47) and yards (470), moving into the No. 3 receiver role after Kenny Britt's early season-ending ACL injury. Hawkins has never taken the next step toward being NFL starter-caliber, however, and is an impending free agent. The Titans will probably be interested in re-signing him at a low rate.

Tue Dec 27 201109:45Lavelle Hawkins' injury isn't serious
Coach Mike Munchak did not express concern Monday over Lavelle Hawkins' ankle injury.
Hawkins appears to be recovering well, according to Munchak. It sounds like there's a chance he could serve as the No. 3 receiver against the Texans Sunday. The Titans need a win and help to steal a Wild Card spot in the AFC playoffs.
