Tue Sep 2 201418:14Karim removed from injured reserve with settlement
Karim was removed from injured reserve with a settlement, Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports.
It would seem the ailment that landed Karim on IR was either a phantom injury or not particularly severe, so he'll try to look for an opportunity elsewhere rather than sit out the entire 2014 season.
Sun Aug 17 201414:37The Colts have signed Karim
The Colts have signed Karim, The Sports Xchange reports.
Meanwhile, the team waived fellow running back Davin Megget, with Karim -- who recorded 12 carries for 51 yards in seven games with the Texans last season -- now joining the team's depth RB/return mix.
Tue Dec 24 201314:59Texans place RB Deji Karim on injured reserve
Texans placed RB Deji Karim on injured reserve with a broken collarbone, ending his season.
Karim broke his collarbone Sunday against the Broncos. The Texans will trot out Jonathan Grimes as the starter at running back in the Week 17 finale against the Titans. Ray Graham has been signed to handle backup duties.

Mon Dec 23 201316:47Deji Karim out with broken collarbone
Texans RB Deji Karim suffered a broken collarbone in Houston's Week 16 loss to the Broncos, and is done for the season.
Karim suffered the injury after filling in for an injured Dennis Johnson (hip). It leaves Jonathan Grimes as the Texans' Week 17 starter. A 2010 sixth-round pick, Karim heads into the offseason with just 110 career carries for 341 yards (3.1 YPC). He'll be far from a guarantee to crack someone's 53-man roster next summer.

Sun Dec 22 201316:44Deji Karim manages 29 total yards in loss
Deji Karim rushed eight times for 30 yards and lost one yard on his lone reception in Houston's Week 16 loss to the Broncos.
Dennis Johnson got the start, but Karim was the primary back throughout the second half. Karim has been in the NFL since 2010 and done very little to suggest he's worth a big-league roster spot. Look for a Johnson-Karim committee backfield when Houston takes on Tennessee in the regular season finale.

Fri Nov 8 201313:41Texans turn to Deji Karim as No. 3 back
The Texans will turn to Deji Karim as their No. 3 back in the absence of Arian Foster (back, hamstring).
Ben Tate will be the starter, and rookie Dennis Johnson will be the change-of-pace back. Karim is worth owning only in 16- to 20-team leagues in "hopes" of an extended Foster absence and another injury in Houston's backfield.

Sun Oct 27 201310:39Texans expected to sign RB Deji Karim
The Texans are expected to sign free agent RB Deji Karim.
Karim, 27 next month, spent the summer with the Texans and rushed for 75 yards on 15 preseason carries. Houston is on its bye week and is dealing with injuries to Arian Foster (hamstring) and Ben Tate (broken ribs). The Texans are expected to add at least one more running back, in addition to Karim.

Sat Aug 31 201310:07Deji Karim waived by Texans, Wood wins job
Texans waived RB Deji Karim.
Despite rushing for 75 yards on 15 preseason carries and having 26 games of regular-season experience, Karim loses out to UDFA Cierre Wood. Wood becomes a name for deep Dynasty leaguers to stash away as Ben Tate is entering a contract year and Arian Foster has a ton of tread on his tires.

Sat Aug 24 201316:35Deji Karim in lead for Texans No. 3 RB job?
The Texans' official website says it "looks like" Deji Karim is in the lead for No. 3 running back duties.
Karim, entering his fourth season out of Southern Illinois, is competing with undrafted rookies Cierre Wood, Dennis Johnson, and Ray Graham for the role, and he's rushed for 92 yards on 15 carries through two preseason games. Karim will be the second back in the game behind Ben Tate in Sunday's regular season dress rehearsal against the Saints. Karim also has special teams experience.

Sat May 11 201313:24Deji Karim participating in Texans minicamp
Free agent RB Deji Karim is participating in Texans' rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
Karim wasn't tendered an offer as a restricted free agent by the Colts in March. He has an uphill battle to claim a roster spot in Houston, as he's competing with top undrafted rookie running backs Cierre Wood, Dennis Johnson, George Winn, and Ray Graham. Karim has averaged 3.0 YPC on 98 career totes.

Mon Mar 11 201315:14Colts do not tender Deji Karim
The Colts declined to tender RB/KR Deji Karim, making him an unrestricted free agent.
26-year-old Karim has a career per-carry average of 3.0 with 17 receptions across 26 games. Needless to say, he's not going to experience much of a market.

Tue Dec 11 201216:10Injury-depleted Colts bring back RB Karim
Colts re-signed RB Deji Karim.
It's not a good sign for the Week 15 availability of Donald Brown and Delone Carter, both sidelined by ankle injuries. Karim may have to back up starter Vick Ballard at Houston.

Mon Apr 30 201216:27Colts claim RB Deji Karim off waivers
Colts claimed RB Deji Karim off waivers from the Jaguars.
The 180th overall pick in the 2010 draft, Karim runs well in a straight line but showed poor instincts in Jacksonville and lacks tackle-breaking ability. The 25-year-old currently holds a career yards-per-carry average of 2.96.

Fri Apr 27 201211:34Jaguars waive RB Karim, five others
Jaguars waived RB Deji Karim, LB JoJo Dickson, LB Jammie Kirlew, K Sam Swank, CB Trumaine McBride, and LB Stephen Franklin.
Karim boasts impressive measurables, but he fell out of favor down the stretch last season after averaging just 2.1 yards on 63 carries as Maurice Jones-Drew's backup. He could draw interest as a kickoff-return candidate.

Mon Dec 5 201119:32Karim falling out of favor in Jacksonville?
The Florida Times Union suggests that Deji Karim is "falling out of favor" after being a healthy scratch in Week 13.
Karim is averaging 2.03 yards per carry on the season and has one run for double-digit yards on 61 attempts, so his benching is probably overdue. Behind Maurice Jones-Drew, the Jaguars are moving forward with practice squad back DuJuan Harris, Montell Owens, Brock Bolen, and Greg Jones as secondary ball-carrying options. They really could've used some Rashad Jennings this year.

Sun Oct 2 201118:43Karim gets four carries in loss
Deji Karim rushed four times for six yards in Sunday's loss to the Saints.
Karim spelled Jones-Drew for significant stretches in the first half, but didn't flash. It's a recurring theme so far for Karim, who is surprisingly getting just 2.0 yards per carry through four games. There's only handcuff appeal here as Blaine Gabbert struggles badly.

Wed Sep 14 201108:26Del Rio complements Deji Karim
Coach Jack Del Rio was complementary of Deji Karim following Sunday's win over the Titans.
Karim played the majority of the second half as the Jaguars kept an unhappy Maurice Jones-Drew on a "pitch count." Karim averaged just 2.35 yards per carry, but did catch three passes for 39 yards. "He's got some of that explosiveness, some of that vision and balance where he can do some of those things, and so it was great to see," Del Rio said.

Sun Sep 4 201121:55Karim set for expanded role with Jennings out
Coach Jack Del Rio still feels "great" about his backfield after losing Rashad Jennings for the season.
Del Rio talked up bigger roles for fullbacks Montell Owens and Brock Bolen, but most of Jennings' responsibilities will fall on Deji Karim. "Deji in particular has been very explosive this preseason," said Del Rio. "He's got some real quicks, he's got great vision and he's been improved in all facets of his game. And the thing that stands out is the explosive element that he brings." Karim is worth adding this week as a roster stash in standard-sized leagues.
