Wed Feb 19 201409:28Jordan Shipley retires from the NFL
Former Bengals WR Jordan Shipley announced his retirement from the NFL in January.
Shipley, a 2010 third-round pick of the Bengals, posted a promising 52/600/3 line as a rookie. But he tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus two games into the 2011 season and never recovered, getting released during 2012 training camp. Shipley has signed on with the Outdoor Channel as an occasional host of hunting shows.

Tue Oct 15 201317:47Pats work out three receivers Tuesday
The Patriots worked out free agent WRs Jordan Shipley, LaQuan Williams and Devon Wylie on Tuesday.
The Pats also worked out TE Brandon Barden. It's possible the Patriots are looking to make a move with Danny Amendola's (concussion) status up in the air, but they may also be just updating their emergency list.

Sun Sep 1 201315:51Jaguars cut six more players
Jaguars waived/released WR Jordan Shipley, DB Antwon Blake, TE Brett Brackett, OL Dan Gerberry, FB Lonnie Pryor, and LB Andy Studebaker.
In addition to previously mentioned Kyle Love, these players go to make room for Jacksonville's league-high seven waiver claims. Shipley is now going on 28 years old. He was beaten out for the slot receiver job by Ace Sanders.

Thu Mar 28 201315:04Shipley likely to be Jags' slot man in 2013
Jaguars.com believes Jordan Shipley will likely be the team's slot receiver this season.
Shipley was signed off the street prior to Week 12 last season, and he immediately contributed by catching 23 passes for 244 yards and one touchdown in six games with Chad Henne tossing him the ball. He'll have to earn it, but he'll be flanked by Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts.

Tue Mar 19 201319:05Jaguars bring back slot WR Jordan Shipley
Jaguars re-signed WR Jordan Shipley to a two-year, $1.315 million contract.
Shipley's status had been murky, but his two-year deal has finally been confirmed. Team observers were surprised when Shipley wasn't tendered a contract as a restricted free agent, but the Jags got him back at half the price of the $1.32 million low tender. The former third-round pick has proven to be a low-impact player, but will likely get a chance to lock-down slot duties in camp.

Fri Mar 8 201316:35Jaguars don't tender 6 restricted FAs
Jaguars declined to tender restricted free agents DE George Selvie, FB Brock Bolen, LB Kyle Bosworth, TE Zach Potter, C John Estes, and WR Jordan Shipley, making them all unrestricted free agents.
The Florida Times Union had reported the Jaguars would likely tender Shipley and Potter, but the paper clearly has no read on new GM David Caldwell's intentions. Shipley, 27, is the biggest name of the group and could generate some interest in the second or third waves of free agency as a slot receiver.

Wed Mar 6 201322:40Jaguars expected to tender WR Shipley
The Jaguars are expected to tender an offer to restricted free agent WR Jordan Shipley.
Shipley was signed as a free agent in Week 12 last season, and he went on to catch 23 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown in six games as a slot receiver. He'll be a candidate to retain that role if Laurent Robinson (concussions) isn't healthy.

Sun Dec 30 201217:27Jordan Shipley finishes with 7-51-1 line
Jaguars WR Jordan Shipley caught seven balls for 51 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 17 loss to Tennessee.
Signed in late November off the street, 27-year-old Shipley wound up appearing in six games with Jacksonville, securing 23 passes for 244 yards and the one score. Early-career knee woes sapped Shipley's value around the league at the time, but he bounced back late this season to show he's healthy again and can be a productive slot receiver. Shipley is an exclusive rights free agent in 2013, so he can be cheaply retained to compete for a roster spot in next year's training camp.

Sun Dec 23 201218:11Shipley leads Jaguars with 82 yards in Wk 16
Jordan Shipley caught five passes for a team-high 82 yards in Jacksonville's Week 16 loss to the Patriots.
Shipley was targeted ten times on the afternoon, but he dropped a couple of catch-able balls late in the game that could have provided an even better-looking stat line. Shipley will handle slot duties again in Week 17 versus the Titans, and as an exclusive rights free agent after the season, he'll look to make a lasting impression.

Tue Nov 20 201216:29Jaguars sign Shipley, waive Ta'ufo'ou
Jaguars signed WR Jordan Shipley.
FB Will Ta'ufo'ou was waived in a corresponding move. Shipley will give the Jags an alternative to Aaron Ross on punt returns but is unlikely to contribute on offense.

Wed Oct 31 201213:51Texans work out Jordan Shipley
The Texans worked out free agent WR Jordan Shipley.
Houston also worked out free agent QB Stephen McGee. It's Shipley's first known workout since being waived by the Bucs in September. The Texans have little veteran depth at receiver, but it's more likely the Texans are considering Shipley for special teams.

Tue Sep 25 201218:43Bucs waive WR Jordan Shipley
Bucs waived WR/PR Jordan Shipley.
Shipley was re-signed a week ago to handle punt returns, but the leash proved to be short after losing a fumble at Dallas. Shipley hasn't been playing at the same game speed since tearing his ACL early last season.

Fri Aug 31 201223:14Jordan Shipley among Bucs' final cuts
Bucs waived or released WRs Jordan Shipley and Landon Cox, QB Brett Ratliff, DTs Frank Okam, Teryl White and Jordan Nix, S Sean Baker, LBs Rennie Curran and Jacob Cutrera, TEs Drake Dunsmore and Zack Pianalto, K Kai Forbath, OT Jermarcus Hardrick, RB Robert Hughes, FB Cody Johnson, C Moe Petrus, CB James Rogers, DL E.J. Wilson and OG Desmond Wynn.
Wynn has waived/injured. Shipley reportedly looked healthy, but arrived too late in camp to put real pressure on fellow slot WR Preston Parker. The Bucs were the only team to place a claim on Shipey when he was waived earlier this month, so there's no guarantee he'll find a new home before Week 1. Now 27, Ratliff is running out of time to take his first NFL snap.

Tue Aug 21 201209:40Bucs only team to place claim on Shipley
TheSidelineView.com reports the Bucs were the only team to place a waiver claim on WR Jordan Shipley.
Per reporter Adam Caplan, teams were "obviously concerned" Shipley's ACL. Shipley was waived by the Bengals in part because "the knee was not responding." Shipley's not a major threat to Preston Parker's slot duties in Tampa.

Sat Aug 18 201218:05Report: Cowboys don't claim Shipley
DallasCowboys.com reports the Cowboys did not place a waiver claim on former Bengals WR Jordan Shipley.
Writer Bryan Broaddus reported Saturday the Cowboys were "entertaining" such a move. Shipley is just two years removed from being a third-round pick and catching 52 passes as a rookie, but it's possible his medicals will scare off otherwise interested clubs.

Sat Aug 18 201213:37Cowboys may be interested in Shipley
DallasCowboys.com "(gets) the feeling" the Cowboys are interested in former Bengals WR Jordan Shipley, who was waived on Friday.
Reporter Bryan Broaddus believes the Cowboys are "entertaining putting a claim" on the third-year slot receiver. The Cowboys have a log-jam behind Dez Bryant and Miles Austin, with none of Andre Holmes, Danny Coale, Kevin Ogletree and Cole Beasley yet to run with No. 3 duties. Shipley landing in Big D would kill Coale's already limited deep-league PPR appeal.

Fri Aug 17 201214:31Bengals give up on rehabbing slot WR Shipley
Bengals waived WR Jordan Shipley.
Shipley is now eligible to be claimed off waivers, although his health is an obvious issue. Slow to recover from ACL surgery, Shipley was spotted by the Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy following Thursday night's preseason game with an icepack on his knee. "The knee was not responding," Reedy tweeted. If a team does want to give Shipley a look, the Jaguars make sense. Shipley had his lone productive NFL season (52 catches, 600 yards) under first-year Jacksonville offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski back in 2010.

Wed Aug 15 201214:34Shipley may lose his roster spot in Cincy
Bengals OC Jay Gruden was noncommittal Wednesday when asked about Jordan Shipley's roster security.
Shipley's ACL recovery isn't coming along as fast as hoped, and Gruden promises to keep only the receivers who give the Bengals their best chance to win. "That (roster) decision will play out in the next three weeks," Gruden said. "We're all about playing the best guys and may the best guy win. We know what he's done in the past. These other guys are emerging and are good players."
