Thu Dec 27 201217:32Pack waive RB Johnny White off I.R.
Packers waived RB Johnny White from injured reserve.
White was sent to I.R. with a concussion earlier this month. He should clear waivers and become a free agent. A fifth-round pick of the Bills in 2011, White has been limited to 20 carries in 19 career games while also dealing with a number of head injuries.

Wed Dec 5 201214:37Johnny White sent to I.R. with concussion
Packers placed RB Johnny White on injured reserve with a concussion, ending his season.
The move clears a roster spot for Ryan Grant. White didn't receive a single carry after being claimed off waivers from the Bills in Week 6. The fact that he couldn't crack the Packers' injury-ravaged backfield bodes poorly for his NFL future.

Sat Oct 20 201200:06Johnny White playing special teams in GB
The Packers are preparing waivers acquisition RB Johnny White for a gunner role on special teams.
White is Green Bay's No. 4 tailback, but he won't have a role on offense barring at least one injury. "He can be a contributor because he's very bright," Packers special teams coordinator Shawn Slocum said. "He played gunner in Buffalo. He also has played fullback, wing, and covered kickoffs inside and outside. He's been on punt returns. He's a kickoff returner. Done it all."

Mon Oct 15 201217:25Packers claim RB Johnny White off waivers
Packers claimed RB Johnny White off waivers from the Bills.
Although White has averaged just 3.6 yards per carry on 20 career attempts, he was billed as a one-cut zone runner coming out of North Carolina. That skill set would suit Green Bay's zone-running offense. White will slot in behind Alex Green, John Kuhn, and James Starks on the depth chart for now, but he could appear on the late-season fantasy radar should injuries strike.

Sat Oct 13 201216:14Bills waive RB White
Bills waived RB Johnny White.
White was signed in early September after the Fred Jackson injury, but now that he and Spiller are back to health, White isn't needed. The second-year pro out of North Carolina has rushed for 72 yards on 20 carries over the past two season.

Tue Sep 11 201211:05Johnny White back with the Bills
Bills re-signed RB Johnny White.
It's a no-brainer move with Fred Jackson (knee) out at least three weeks. White, a 2011 fifth-round pick of the Biils, recorded 38 yards on 12 carries last season. He'll slide in as the No. 3 back behind C.J. Spiller and Tashard Choice.

The fifth-round pick suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins. With just four carries since Fred Jackson broke his leg in Week 11, White is a candidate for injured reserve.

Sun Nov 27 201117:50Johnny White gets one carry in Week 12
Bills RB Johnny White received just one carry in Week 12, gaining two yards as Buffalo fell to the Jets.
The carry occurred early in the game inside New York's ten-yard line. White remains a better option than Tashard Choice, but he'll need a significant upgrade in playing time to be usable in fantasy football leagues going forward.

Wed Nov 23 201109:29Johnny White to get a chance Sunday?
Fifth-round rookie Johnny White would serve as C.J. Spiller's backup Sunday if Fred Jackson (calf) can't go.
After Jackson went down last week, Spiller got the next three rush attempts. White cleaned up for the final two in garbage time and racked up four targets in the passing game. It's been obvious all year that the Bills have no confidence in Spiller as an inside runner, meaning there's a good chance White gets a fistful of touches against the Jets.

Mon Aug 22 201122:39Johnny White done for the preseason
Bills rookie RB Johnny White (head) has been ruled out for the remainder of the preseason.
White was released from the hospital after his concussion Sunday night, but he won't see anymore snaps in exhibition games. We'd still keep a close eye on White's progress. C.J. Spiller isn't the answer at feature back, and Fred Jackson is likely headed for decline at age 30. White is third in line for carries.

Sun Aug 21 201100:02Johnny White released from hospital
Bills RB Johnny White (head) has already been released from the hospital, and has been cleared to fly home with the rest of the team to Buffalo.
In a postgame press conference, HC Chan Gailey reported the Bills suffered no serious injuries this evening, so it appears White has emerged from his scary episode mostly unscathed. Remarkable news for a player just hours removed from being taken off the field in a stretcher.

Sat Aug 20 201122:39Bills RB White leaves field on stretcher
Bills fifth-round RB Johnny White had to be taken off the field on a stretcher after taking a hit from Broncos LB Mario Haggan on Saturday.
White was down for several minutes, but did show movement before coming off the field. Recently deemed "one of the early surprises" of training camp by the Buffalo News, White was looking to play himself into a role in the Bills backfield. His status should be updated shortly.

Sun Aug 7 201109:32Johnny White a 'surprise' at Bills camp
According to the Buffalo News, Bills RB Johnny White has been "one of the early surprises during training camp."
A fifth-round pick, White was ticketed as a future short-yardage back when he was drafted, but was mostly expected to contribute on special teams this season. If he carries his strong practice play over into the Bills' preseason games, however, he could be looking at a role in Buffalo's backfield much earlier than anticipated.

Tue Jul 5 201123:38Johnny White could emerge as goal-line back
The Bills official website suggests fifth-rounder Johnny White could emerge as the goal-line back "as the season wears on."
The converted cornerback is a downhill runner, doing his best work between the tackles. White is expected to be limited to special teams duty early on, so he'll be limited to less than a handful of carries per week. This vague suggestion of an eventual goal-line vulture isn't enough to ding Fred Jackson in drafts this year.
