WLB Scott Shanle was limited by a shoulder injury in the Saints' Week 14 win at Tennessee.
Shanle didn't start and only played sparingly as his lingering shoulder issue nagged. He didn't record any tackles yesterday after racking up six and a sack in Week 13.

Thu Jul 28 201119:44Saints re-sign Scott Shanle
Saints re-signed WLB Scott Shanle.
The Saints believe Jonathan Casillas is their weak-side linebacker of the future, but the 31-year-old Shanle will return as insurance. Casillas is coming off a Lisfranc fracture. Shanle is in decline, but he's worth retaining as a backup. Previously, the Rams were known to have shown some interest in him.

Tue Jul 26 201112:30Shanle sets up meeting with Rams
Free agent WLB Scott Shanle has spoken to the Rams about lining up a visit.
Shanle was ineffective as an outside linebacker last season and the Saints are likely ready to move in a new direction. In St. Louis, he'd be able to battle the likes of David Vobora and Na'il Diggs for snaps. Note that Shanle was originally drafted by the Rams back in 2003.

Mon Apr 25 201113:47Saints talked contract with Scott Shanle
The Saints had contract talks with free agent WLB Scott Shanle before the lockout began in mid-March.
The seriousness of discussions is unclear, as Shanle came away from them not knowing whether the Saints want to re-sign him. Shanle was New Orleans' third leading tackler last season, behind only Roman Harper and Jonathan Vilma.

Tue Oct 26 201012:11Shanle could sit out again in Week 8
Saints WLB Scott Shanle's (hamstring) status for Week 8 is up in the air.
Coach Sean Payton noted that Shanle is probably closer to playing in Week 8 than CB Jabari Greer, for what it's worth. We'll get a better idea as to what his status is on Wednesday.

Sun Sep 5 201022:14Shanle moving back to weak side
The New Orleans Times-Picayune confirms that Scott Shanle is expected to move back to weak-side linebacker following Jonathan Casillas' season-ending Lisfranc fracture.
Jo-Lonn Dunbar will start on the strong side. We've seen what Shanle can do at the position (68 tackles last year), and the fantasy upside isn't high as he enters his age-31 season. Consider Shanle a low-end LB3 option at best.

Sat Aug 14 201012:43Shanle moved to strong-side
Saints linebacker Scott Shanle is expected to move to the strong-side.
His IDP value takes a hit as Jonathan Casillas will take his place on the weak-side. The Saints had arguably the worst rush defense last season, so there will be plenty of tackles to go around, though Shanle can expect to see less of them now that he's on the strong-side.
