Thu Jun 25 201518:59Moffit will sign one-year contract with Eagles
Moffit will sign a one-year contract with the Eagles, Ross Jones of Fox Sports reports.
Moffit retired from the NFL two season ago, and it was later revealed that he struggled with a drug addiction, which likely contributed to his early retirement. He has reportedly moved past that issue, and will try to earn a spot with the Eagle's, who recently released a starting guard over a contract issue. Moffit, now 28, was once a starting-caliber lineman, but could be cut if he cannot return to his previous form.

Tue Nov 5 201315:48Broncos place OG Moffitt on left squad list
Broncos placed OG John Moffitt on the reserve/left squad list.
Reportedly frustrated by his lack of playing time, Moffitt didn't report to the Broncos when they returned from their Week 9 bye. Acquired from the Seahawks in August, Moffitt was a healthy scratch for six of Denver's first eight games. Now he's ineligible to return this season. A 2011 third-rounder, Moffitt made six starts for Seattle last season, and nine in 2011.

Tue Aug 20 201318:04World tour: John Moffitt now a Bronco
Broncos acquired OG John Moffitt from the Seahawks in exchange for DT Sealver Siliga.
A bum knee voided Moffitt's trade to Cleveland, but the Broncos are apparently willing to take a chance on his health. Moffitt has made 15 career starts, but will come off the bench behind Zane Beadles and Louis Vasquez in Denver. That's if he can get healthy. It's worth noting that Moffitt played some center in college. Ryan Lilja is currently penciled in, but center is a major question mark for the Broncos.

Tue Aug 20 201317:55League voids Moffitt/Brian Sanford swap
NFL voided Cleveland's acquisition of OG John Moffitt from the Seahawks in exchange for DL Brian Sanford.
Moffitt failed his physical, and his rights have reverted to the Seahawks. Sanford's rights have reverted to the Browns. Considering Cleveland's issues at guard, their examination of Moffitt must have turned up something major. It's unclear what the Seahawks plan to do with Moffitt, but he could be waived.

Mon Aug 19 201317:28Browns acquire OG John Moffitt for DL Sanford
Browns acquired OG John Moffitt from the Seahawks in exchange for DL Brian Sanford.
It's a solid pickup for the guard-needy Browns, who became extremely thin on the interior after losing Jason Pinkston and Shawn Lauvao to injuries. Moffitt now becomes the favorite to open the year as Cleveland's starting right guard. The 75th overall pick in the 2011 draft, Moffitt has made 15 NFL starts. He was getting beaten out by J.R. Sweezy at right guard in Seahawks camp.

Seahawks OG John Moffitt pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined $1,407.
Moffitt also received a suspended sentence of 24 months in jail, but he won't have to serve it as long as he avoids further legal trouble. Moffitt originally faced two misdemeanor charges -- criminal trespassing and obstruction of a law enforcement officer -- following a series of three different incidents at Bellevue Square mall. He shouldn't face any discipline from the NFL.

Tue May 28 201320:12OG Moffitt misses OTAs for court hearing
Seahawks guard John Moffitt was absent on OTAs on Tuesday as a result of two criminal charges he's facing for trespassing and obstruction.
The charges against Moffitt are both misdemeanors and shouldn't have an impact on the upcoming season. He began last season as the starting RG on the depth chart but missed time due to elbow and knee injuries before eventually missing some games as a healthy scratch. He'll face competition for a starting spot.

Fri Oct 12 201222:33Seahawks have no timetable for Moffitt return
The Seahawks have no timetable for RG John Moffitt's (knee) return.
Pat McQuistan played well in place of Moffitt in last week's win over Carolina, so Seattle should be able to wait out the absence. "It was a little bit more serious than we thought," Carroll said. "So we're just making sure we're taking care of him. We're OK on the depth chart right now so it's working out."

Sun Sep 30 201211:44Quiet week of inactives for Seahawks
Seahawks declared RG John Moffitt, WR Charly Martin, S Winston Guy, CB Danny Gorrer, CB Bryon Maxwell, DT Jaye Howard and DT Greg Scruggs inactive for Week 4 against the Rams.
G/T James Carpenter (knee) is active, and will be making his 2012 debut. Otherwise, it's a quiet week for the Seahawks, who enter the quarter pole as one of the league's healthier teams. Carpenter could see heavy snaps in Moffitt's place at right guard, though he could also spell banged-up RT Breno Giacomini (pectoral).

Wed Sep 26 201220:37Seattle OLs Moffitt, Giacomini miss practice
Seahawks RG John Moffitt (knee) and RT Breno Giacomini (pectoral) did not practice on Wednesday.
Both players were not known to have been injured in Monday night's win over the Packers. Rookie J.R. Sweezy filled in for Moffitt in Week 1 and was thoroughly dominated by Cardinals DT Darnell Dockett. Giacomini's back-up is veteran Frank Omiyale.

Wed Sep 12 201222:28John Moffitt to rejoin starting lineup
Seahawks RG John Moffitt will rejoin the starting lineup in Week 2 after missing most of training camp due to elbow surgery.
Rookie fill-in J.R. Sweezy got destroyed by Darnell Dockett in the opener and will take his rightful spot on the bench. Moffitt should be a big upgrade as a run blocker for Marshawn Lynch and pass protector in front of Russell Wilson.

Fri Aug 10 201215:08Seahawks G Moffitt out 2-3 weeks
Seahawks RG John Moffitt is out 2-3 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair "loose particles" in his elbow.
It's another blow to a Seahawks line that annually can't keep front-five starters off the shelf. Moffitt, a 2011 third-round pick out of Wisconsin, should still be ready for the start of the season. But continuity is a big deal in Seattle's zone-run scheme, and they're going to enter the year without it.

Thu May 24 201218:28Seahawks RG Moffitt 'full-go' in practice
Seahawks RG John Moffitt (torn MCL, PCL) was "full-go" in Thursday's practice.
Moffitt worked with the first-team offense at right guard, so the knee appears to be no longer an issue. Frank Omiyale is working at left tackle, though starter Russell Okung (pectoral surgery) is close to being cleared for a full return.
